Love You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 571 - 572: Afraid of Causing a Huge Commotion

Chapter 571 - 572: Afraid of Causing a Huge Commotion

Hearing the rhythmic knock on the door, she couldn’t help but tense up. Inexplicably, she felt like she needed to vent!

Speaking honestly, the fact that she and her elder brother were openly living together at home was - just outrageous!

Painfully awkward, indeed.

At this point, she couldn’t even define the relationship between the two of them.

They weren’t simply regular lovers who can move in together as they please.

Beyond that, they weren’t just your average couple - they shared a deeper relationship as family members.

If – hypothetically – she and her elder brother didn’t work out...

Then who would be responsible for this mess?

Would they break up or settle for less?

Could they end up fuelling a family feud? Even the thought of it exhausted her.

Lost in thought for a moment, eventually, all Di Xiaxia could do was resign to the inevitable, "Come in."

Di Mingzhe entered.

Gazing at her lying on the bed, her black hair scattered around her, ethereal as if bathed in moonlight.

"Finished showering?" Di Mingzhe asked.

"Yes," stated Di Xiaxia, nodding her head, though she couldn’t help feeling a rush of awkwardness.

At this moment, there was another knock on the door. Di Mingzhe opened it to find Fang Hao standing outside with a grin, carrying two bowls of soup.

Di Mingzhe frowned at the sight.

"Xiaxia," Fang Hao made her way inside, all smiles, "Mom made you guys a midnight snack, eat before you sleep."

The corner of her lips couldn’t hide her smirk while she lowered the bowls of soup. She then directed the housemaid following her, "Just put the young master’s clothes on the sofa."

"Yes," replied the maid, obediently placing the clothes down.

Fang Hao glanced at the two one last time, faking a yawn, "Alright then, I’m going to bed, you guys should rest soon and not stay up too really late. Remember, you must drink the soup!"

Fang Hao exited the room with the housemaid, considerately closing the door behind her.

Just as the door clicked shut, she thrust it open again, poking her head through the gap, "Oh, right, remember to lock the door."

With this parting shot, she slammed the door shut.

Di Mingzhe appeared to be torn between amusement and annoyance.

Di Xiaxia, on the other hand, was utterly embarrassed and awkward, her face flushed as she lowered her gaze.

She really hated feeling this way!

Di Mingzhe lowered his gaze, taking a sweeping glance at her before walking over.

Di Xiaxia instinctively moved over a bit, keeping her head lowered.

Di Mingzhe sat on the bed, just looking at her. His long jet-black hair hung down almost covering her entire face.

Di Mingzhe’s lips curled up subtly as he spoke softly, "There’s nothing to be afraid of."

Looking up, Di Xiaxia tried to cover her awkwardness in haste, "I’m not!"

Regret washed over her as soon as she finished this sentence. Ah, the embarrassment!

She internally shrieked, ’Why did I say I wasn’t afraid?’ So does it imply that even if her elder brother wanted to sleep with her now, she wouldn’t fear it?

No way, of course not! She was just awkward and unsure about her next move!

Sigh.

At her words, Di Mingzhe’s brow raised, his pupils slightly bright. There seemed to be a glint of surprise and delight in his eyes. Deliberately slow, he began unbuttoning his shirt, "Really?"

Di Xiaxia was now on the brink of unparalleled embarrassment. Ancient Buddhas, this strong sense of déjà vu feeling awkward was so irritating!

The way he undid his buttons was indeed tempting. As he continued, Di Xiaxia involuntarily gasped a breath of cold air - damn it! He must be doing it on purpose!

Showcasing his physique much?

"Um, that..." In a frenzied attempt to divert the prevailing awkwardness, Di Xiaxia hurriedly looked away feigning nonchalance and motioned towards the bowl of soup Fang Hao had left on the table, "What kind of soup is this?"
