Chapter 444 - 445: I Won’t Argue With an Idiot

Gu Qibao frowned, what the heck, what does she mean by speaking frankly? Is she implying that what Hu Manke said was the truth?

So, she’s suggesting that I’m just clinging onto people in power and using their influence.

Gu Qibao might be a bit naive, but she wasn’t stupid, she could grasp the implications of these words.

Laughing off the insult, she looked at Hu Manke and said, "No worries, I don’t usually argue with idiots anyway."

Hu Manke had no choice but to back down.

Gu Qibao raised an eyebrow defiantly, come on, I’m not afraid of you!

Shen Yilan’s attitude was decent, Gu Qibao casually replied, "I just got into college."

Shen Yilan responded with a thoughtful "oh", it explained her apparently young age.

"What did you major in? Architecture? Or painting?" Shen Yilan asked again.

Gu Qibao’s face was full of pride, "Why should I tell you?"

However, her eyes clearly held a hint of disdain, which Gu Qibao saw quite clearly, not that she cared.

Hu Manke, looking frustrated, gave Shen Yilan’s hand a tug, Shen Yilan patted her hand in response.

Unable to lose face, Hu Manke withheld her anger and glared at Gu Qibao.

Gu Qibao returned the glare unabashedly, and even made a rude finger gesture implying she would gouge out her eyes.

Hu Manke visibly quivered, and Gu Qibao smirked triumphantly. Hmph, it’s a good thing my Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise aren’t around, otherwise they’d rip you to shreds.

Just as Shen Yilan and Hu Manke turned around, they saw Di Mingjue leaning against the doorway. His handsome looks all the more striking due to the cold expression on his face, his icy gaze fixed on them.

Hu Manke’s heart pounded erratically, her body involuntarily trembled with a sudden chill. She pouted her lips in an aggrieved manner and murmured, "Senior Mingjue... your wife seems to be prejudice against me."

Di Mingjue crinkled his brows in annoyance. With an expressionless blink, he beckoned towards Gu Qibao, "Darling, come here."

Gu Qibao obediently squeezed herself over to him, puffing up her cheeks in a show of displeasure.

Di Mingjue gently patted her head, a doting smile lighting up his face. He turned coldly towards Hu Manke, every word clear and precise, "I wonder, how has my wife offended both of you?"
