Love You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 250: If He Dares To Snatch Gu Qibao, I Dare To Declare War On C Country".

Upon hearing Gu Qibao’s words, Johnson couldn’t help but laugh. He found Gu Qibao adorable and was somewhat pleasingly content.

He himself didn’t exactly know why he felt happy.

He too longed for a girl like her, who would playfully call him a cheapskate, a thought which made him feel blissful.

Having such thoughts, Johnson found himself feeling somewhat sour.

"Qibao, do you love your husband very much?" Johnson suddenly asked.

Gu Qibao was taken aback, and with a serious expression, she nodded, "Hmm, I do love him."

Johnson’s face seemed to lower at this point, he responded with a ’oh’ and didn’t know what else to say.

After a moment of silence, Johnson pointed out, "You must be hungry, shall I accompany you to have something to eat?"

"I don’t want to eat." Gu Qibao said, clenching her small fists in frustration, "I need to go back and take care of him!"

Just as she stands up to leave, Johnson stopped her. He gently looks at her and asked, "Qibao, can you tell me the story of you and your husband?"

Gu Qibao momentarily hesitates, raises an eyebrow and asks, "You want to hear it?"

"Hmm." Johnson nodded.

Gu Qibao giggles and settles back down, "Well, this tale actually begins two months ago, on a dark and stormy night..."

While Gu Qibao was busy talking with Johnson, Di Mingjue returned to his room alone, his face dark and icy.

Lan Feng followed behind him, not daring to utter a word.

The first thing Di Mingjue did upon returning to his room was to make a call to Di Mingzhe, and bluntly stated, "Cancel the cooperation with C Country, I’m dropping this deal."

Di Mingzhe, on the other end, was utterly confused, and he couldn’t help but ask, "What happened? Why the cancellation?"

Was it foolish to drop such a profitable business?

He knew that Mingjue was expected to earn hundreds of billions from just this project. Is Mingjue out of his mind to not want that?

"Because I’m irritated," Di Mingjue bluntly replied, "Your sister came here and happens to have met the Prince of the Liseye Royal Family, who is not a good guy."

Di Mingzhe was momentarily speechless at the other end of the call, and then he asked, incredulously, "Are you...jealous?"

"Certainly not. I’m just annoyed by him," Di Mingjue furrowed his brows, "Anyway, I’m not going ahead with it. I am about to return home."

Just as Di Mingjue was about the hang up, Di Mingzhe managed to stop him, "Can you stop being so childish?"

"How am I being childish?" Di Mingjue retorts indignantly, "The one he is after is not your wife, so of course, you’re not bothered."

Di Mingzhe: "..."

Having no other option, Di Mingzhe had to plead with him, "How do you know he’s into Gu Qibao? Gu Qibao is immature; why would a royal be interested in her?"

"So, you’re saying your sister is crude?" Di Mingjue’s questions sent chills down the spine.

Di Mingzhe fell silent and decided to change the topic, "You know that I’ve already signed the contract with Robin. It’s a matter between two nations now. If you back out, we will have to pay a penalty."

"So, pay it. Do you mean to say you can’t afford that?" Di Mingjue said unpleasantly.

He refused to believe that Empire didn’t have that amount of money!

Di Mingzhe was speechless. It wasn’t about the nation’s capacity to pay the money, but the fact that a lucrative deal was turning into a loss due to Mingjue’s tantrums was unreasonable.

"Stop the nonsense," Di Mingzhe angrily rebuked, "You and Gu Qibao are already married, what can that Prince do? He definitely can’t snatch her away! If he dares to take Gu Qibao, I’m ready to declare war on C Country!"

Di Mingzhe’s assurance seemed to cheer Mingjue up a bit. He coldly huffed, "That’s more like it."

Di Mingzhe felt a headache coming on. His little brother, usually intelligent and brave, acted like a lunatic whenever it came to matters related to Gu Qibao.

Well, let him continue being a lunatic, he thought. He still had to do the work of convincing him. Really, it was like caring too much but getting too little in return.

For now, he could only lament his predicament silently.
