Chapter 1213: Don’t Make Trouble
"How come you’re here?" Di Jinxuan turned her face to look at him, "Didn’t you go to watch my third brother’s competition?"
"Ah." Nangong Jin nodded, reached out, and gently touched her head, smiling with eyes curved into crescents, "As I stepped outside, I saw someone selling flowers and remembered I hadn’t bought you any yet, so I got some first."
Di Jinxuan was momentarily stunned. So, was he thinking of her all this time?
For some reason, her heart felt sweet. Di Jinxuan slightly curled the corners of her lips, sniffing the large bunch of flowers in her hands, hmm, quite fragrant.
How had she never known roses could smell so sweet?
"Then you should go," Di Jinxuan said with a smile brimming in her eyes.
Nangong Jin blinked, paused for two seconds, and then asked earnestly, "But I heard you weren’t feeling well, did you catch a cold last night?"
As he spoke, his broad palm touched her forehead, "Still feeling unwell? Shall we go to the hospital?"
Di Jinxuan felt embarrassed – ah, this just proved some lies were truly indefensible.
"I’m fine now," Di Jinxuan shook her head, "Not sick, not uncomfortable; no need for the hospital."
"Don’t try to be tough," Nangong Jin softly looked into her eyes, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, "If you’re feeling unwell, don’t push it. It’s okay to skip this dance."
"I really am not feeling unwell, trust me." Di Jinxuan looked into his eyes, "You go back first, I’ll talk to you later."
Nangong Jin frowned, "But didn’t your teacher say you shouldn’t dance anymore?"
Upon hearing this, Di Jinxuan’s brows furrowed slightly. Truth be told, she didn’t want Nangong Jin getting involved.
She had never liked drawing too much attention to herself. Besides, the situation was partly her fault for lying about feeling unwell in the first place. It wasn’t unreasonable for her teacher to ask her to step down, although his words might have been harsh, and it also implicated Nangong Jin.
She wasn’t worried that Nangong Jin would be at a disadvantage in a confrontation with Hong Wu, but she didn’t want to stir up too much trouble.
"It’s nothing," Di Jinxuan replied after some thought, "I can’t say I was bullied, it’s a minor issue, don’t worry about it; you go on, I can handle it myself."
Nangong Jin narrowed his eyes – still such a stubborn girl.
Before he had a chance to speak, Hong Wu made the first move.
He walked over, his face stern and ashen, "Miss Di Jinxuan, the rest period is over, why haven’t you joined the group? As for you, Mr. Nangong Jin, it’s training time for the performance, not a time for family visits. Your presence here will disturb the students’ rehearsal and delay training. If there are mistakes on stage, are you going to take responsibility? This is a global broadcast of the sports meet."
Hong Wu’s words were harsh and blunt but were also the truth; Di Jinxuan’s heart tightened, and she hurriedly said, "I’m sorry, Teacher, I’ll join the group right away."
She didn’t want Nangong Jin to clash with Hong Wu. After all, Nangong was resourceful, and this performance wasn’t a joke, so it was best not to escalate things.
"Alright, you should go back now," Di Jinxuan turned to Nangong Jin, intending to join her group, but Nangong Jin grabbed her arm.
Nangong Jin pulled her close to his side and unapologetically looked at Hong Wu, his lips quirked in a slant.
"Don’t make a scene," Di Jinxuan said nervously, seeing his demeanor; she really didn’t want a confrontation, after all, it was her fault.
Meeting Nangong Jin’s gaze, Hong Wu did not show the slightest retreat, likely because he felt justified, his brows arched slightly with a hint of a challenge, "Mr. Nangong, is there any advice you would like to give?"
