Chapter 1129: The Champion Should Go to Him
Di Mingzhe sat there, constantly watching her, beholding her fervent, slightly excited demeanor. He couldn’t tear his gaze away because she was so beautiful.
After gossiping with Gu Qibao and the others, Di Xiaxia finally turned her gaze toward Di Mingzhe.
He just sat there, faintly smiling at her. Di Xiaxia felt a warmth in her heart and smiled back, then walked over to him.
As soon as she approached, he couldn’t wait to grab her hand and hold it tightly in his palm, whispering softly, "Sit here."
Di Xiaxia sat down.
He gripped her hand a bit more firmly, his broad hands enveloping her small ones, bringing them to his lips for a deep, lingering kiss before speaking, "Tired?"
Di Xiaxia felt a strong surge of affection in her heart, feeling especially cared for.
Everyone was asking about the competition, but no one asked if she was tired. So, it was still only her big brother who understood her best.
"Not tired," Di Xiaxia replied with an easy smile. "For some reason, I’m really excited!"
Di Mingzhe couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to touch her head. "Silly girl, what’s there to be excited about?"
"Of course I’m excited," Di Xiaxia said as she took his hand and placed it on her abdomen, speaking emotionally, "Because this is a competition completed with our child. I feel as if our whole family finished the competition together. So I’m all excited, which is why I performed so well. Don’t you think our little treasure is the biggest contributor? If we can win, I actually think this victory should belong to him."
Di Xiaxia’s words took Di Mingzhe by surprise, filling him with an impulsive desire to embrace her tightly and kiss her deeply.
Xiaxia, my wife, how incredible can you be?
Big brother never knew you had such an amazing side. It’s shockingly delightful and thrilling.
I really want to tell you how wonderful you are, how proud I am of you, how much I want to kiss you, but the setting doesn’t permit it right now.
So he gently caressed her abdomen, his deep gaze resting on her beautiful face, and said in a deep voice, "No, you are the champion. You’re our family’s champion, a brave and fearless mother champion."
Di Xiaxia smiled, feeling a bit bashful, and took his large hand in hers. "Let’s watch the competition."
"Okay," Di Mingzhe nodded, suppressing the excitement and agitation surging within, holding her hand tightly. Their fingers intertwined, they both turned their attention back to the competition field.
At this moment, Gu Qibao and the others were still engrossed in excitement, watching the competition while quietly discussing passionately among themselves.
The second event had already started and was as intense as ever, but to be honest, the performances of the subsequent contestants paled in comparison to Di Xiaxia’s brilliance; none exhibited her effortless glide.
At least, they didn’t give off the thrilling, high-energy vibe. Perhaps because their emotions weren’t as unrestrained as hers, the spectators didn’t seem to enjoy it as much, instead feeling particularly tense.
The tension was such that they feared the athletes would fall, and some competitors slid many times without being able to execute the required standard moves, which also caused a great deal of anxiety.
Since there weren’t many female contestants, there were only five events in total for all the athletes to compete in.
Of course, the one with the highest score would take first place.
The second event took a bit longer, nearly twenty-five minutes before the first contestant completed the whole set of actions, but fortunately, the performance was standard enough.
Then came the competitors’ exits, scoring, and interviews.
But the scores from this group of athletes, even the highest, didn’t surpass the second highest score from the previous round; overall, the scores in this event were not too optimistic.
