Love You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 1092: Arthur Arrives

Chapter 1092: Arthur Arrives

In her excitement, she quickly poured herself a glass of wine and took a few sips to calm her nerves.

She sat quietly in her seat waiting, yet her eyes uncontrollably drifted towards Di Mingjue.

She contemplated, pondered on how she could seduce Di Mingjue smoothly and naturally.

Now in her eyes, Di Mingjue seemed like a man who was cold on the outside but actually lustful, the type who couldn’t resist the urge to cheat even though his wife was pregnant.

Yet he wouldn’t show it on the surface, so she figured she should be the one to make a move.

Speaking of that area, Shen Yilan certainly felt that she would definitely captivate Di Mingjue.

Only she was no longer a maiden, which made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

She also didn’t expect Di Mingjue to suddenly invite her to dinner, or she’d have gone through surgery beforehand.

But as Shen Yilan thought about it, something didn’t seem right. Di Mingjue said a friend was coming?

Didn’t that mean there were more than just the two of them?

A third person as well?

So, was he really planning to cheat?

Shen Yilan furrowed her brows. Was she overthinking it, or perhaps Di Mingjue had no such intentions?

For a moment, Shen Yilan wasn’t sure anymore; hence, she opened up and asked, "Senior, which friend is it? Do I know them?"

"Do you really want to know?" Di Mingjue raised his lips, a shift from his cold demeanor to a somewhat charming seductiveness.

Shen Yilan’s eyes widened, inexplicably her face flushed and her heart raced, shyly nodding with a bit of coquetry, "You make me so curious."

A hint of coldness surfaced in Di Mingjue’s smile, he averted his gaze and took a sip of light tea, "You’ll know soon."

It was definitely a big surprise for you.

Shen Yilan grew more curious, utterly clueless about who the person could be.

She never considered Arthur, since he had tired of her and let her go in the end.

It was impossible that he would come for her, though she had been at a disadvantage with Arthur, she still had her own skills.

She thought she had erased all traces so cleanly that as long as Di Mingjue didn’t thoroughly investigate her, nothing would be found.

But what she didn’t expect was that Di Mingjue did indeed take the trouble to look into her background.

Amid her anxiety, the friend still hadn’t arrived, making Shen Yilan increasingly anxious.

Finally, she couldn’t help saying, "Senior, why haven’t they arrived yet?"

"Very soon." Di Mingjue put down his phone; Arthur had just sent a message that he was on his way.

Shen Yilan nodded, but she was indeed a bit hungry by then, so she couldn’t resist saying, "Senior, can we start eating?"

After speaking, she awkwardly looked at Di Mingjue, not really because she wanted to eat first but rather she wanted to take the opportunity to get closer to Di Mingjue. At this moment, she had to be proactive.

Di Mingjue didn’t respond, and Shen Yilan felt embarrassed, her face turning red, "Then, let’s wait a bit more."

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Arthur arrived.

"Mingjue, long time no see," Arthur said briskly in English, breezing in and standing before Di Mingjue, courteously bowing and extending his hand.

"Long time no see," Di Mingjue replied back in fluent English, pointing to a seat beside him, "Have a seat."

"Thank you." Arthur was still very polite and nonchalantly took the seat.

It was as if Shen Yilan had been struck by lightning, her entire being froze, her face turned deathly pale with no trace of color, her eyes widened, her mouth agape in terror, almost screaming in shock, a perfect picture of seeing a ghost.

In that moment, her carefully made-up face twisted terribly.
