Chapter 411: You Are Very Similar to Jorge’s Mom [1]
If it’s a chronic toxin, it means it wasn’t ingested in the past few days, but over a period of time.If it’s not through medication, then it must be through food or drink, like meals and water.
Recently, apart from being in Royal View City, she’s only eaten at the company, the Seys Family residence, and the Morris Family residence. It’s impossible at the company, as the food is the same for all employees, and if there was an issue, the whole company would have been affected.
Royal View City is even more unlikely, as it’s just her and Arlo, and she cooks after buying the groceries herself, so there’s no way there could be an issue.
So it’s only the Seys Family or the Morris Family...
Thinking of this made Ariel Morris’s heart ache deeply; if there really was an issue with either the Seys Family or the Morris Family, it would cause her significant pain.
Ariel Morris glanced out the window, lost in thought as the scenery blurred before her eyes. Suddenly, a memory of Laura Pinley serving her soup flashed through her mind.
Her foster mother had personally prepared that soup for her - is there something wrong with it? But why?
Although she wasn’t the Morris Family’s biological daughter, she was their foster daughter for over twenty years. What reason or motive would they have to harm her?
Compared to the Seys Family, she suspects the Morris Family more... probably because, deep down, it just feels that way.
Perhaps it’s because she was used once eight years ago, and that special glass of milk she drank left a shadow.
While Ariel Morris was deep in thought, her phone in the bag suddenly rang, interrupting her thoughts. She took it out, seeing the caller ID ’Brother Langdon,’ and pressed the answer button.
"Ariel, there’s something I want to discuss with you. Are you available?" Langdon Seal’s voice came from the other side, somewhat low.
"Sure, Brother Langdon, where should we meet?"
"How about Upland Coffee?"
"Sounds good."
After hanging up the phone, Ariel Morris asked Nicole to drive her to Upland Coffee to meet Langdon Seal. Nicole dropped Ariel Morris off at the destination and then returned to Era.
As Ariel Morris entered Upland Coffee, she saw Langdon Seal already sitting there, his head turned towards the window, the gentle lines of his face slightly tense, indicating he wasn’t in a good mood.
Ariel Morris walked over and smiled slightly, "Brother Langdon."
Langdon Seal, who had been gazing out the window, turned back, casually rolling up the sleeves of his white shirt. His complexion was fair, his features handsome, exuding a clean and elegant aura.
His gaze met Ariel Morris, seeing her warm smile, his heart raced for a moment, and when he spoke, his voice was slightly apprehensive, "Ariel—have a seat, see what you’d like to drink, and let’s chat slowly."
Ariel Morris sat down and ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice from the menu. Since orange juice provides vitamin C and she was pregnant, she avoided things like coffee.
Langdon Seal across from her seemed hesitant to speak as if unsure how to continue the conversation. Ariel Morris chuckled softly, "Brother Langdon, what do we have that can’t be said to each other? Didn’t you want to talk to me about something? Go ahead."
The orange juice arrived, and Ariel took a sip, savoring its sweet and sour flavor.
Langdon Seal hesitated for a moment before speaking in a low voice, "Ariel, what I want to talk to you about today is about—Jorge Saxton." He glanced at Ariel Morris and continued in a low voice, "It’s about my good brother Jorge."
"Jorge Saxton?" Ariel Morris furrowed her brows slightly.
Langdon Seal nodded, staring intently at her, "Ariel, last time at the party, Jorge wasn’t trying to be improper with you, but he mistook you for his sister..."
"Sister?" Ariel Morris looked at Langdon Seal in surprise, "Jorge Saxton has a sister? Where is his sister? How could he mistake me for his sister?"
Langdon Seal looked back at Ariel Morris, his gaze deepening, "Because when you smile, you resemble Aunt Cherry, Jorge’s mother, very much..."
