Chapter 397: Returning to the Morris Family for Dinner
Arlo Seys pondered for a moment, his gaze sweeping over several documents on the desk, and instructed Callan Walkers, "Bring Ariel in.""Sure thing, President Seys!" The president personally disciplining the future first lady—he was more than happy to oblige! Besides, if Miss Morris really got upset, the worst-case scenario would be President Seys kneeling on a washboard.
No, no, that’s not right. President Seys, with his noble and elegant—or rather, cunning wolf in sheep’s clothing nature, even if Miss Morris got angry, he could easily handle that little white rabbit with some wall-pin or bed-pin action.
Callan went out to call Ariel Morris in, and Ariel pushed the door open and entered.
"Arlo, what’s up?"
Arlo Seys looked at Ariel Morris, his eyes unblinking.
His deep gaze made Ariel a bit flustered and uneasy. After a minute passed and he still didn’t speak, Ariel took a deep breath and blurted out, "Arlo—President Seys, did I mess up at work? You looking at me like that makes me nervous."
Arlo’s expression remained calm, and he softly said two words: "Come here."
Feeling jittery, Ariel slowly moved over, her steps heavy as if heading to an execution ground.
She hadn’t done anything wrong today, so where did she make a mistake?
Ariel moved to Arlo’s side, lowered her eyes, and put on an obedient look, hoping God Seys would take pity on her and let her off the hook.
Standing there with her head down, waiting for Arlo’s criticism, suddenly a pale hand holding a few documents appeared before her eyes.
Arlo’s calm voice sounded, "Organize these documents and then succinctly brief me on their content."
Surprised, Ariel looked at Arlo and quickly nodded, taking the documents.
So she hadn’t done anything wrong! Arlo’s reaction had really scared her!
Holding the documents, Ariel turned to head back to her desk to handle them.
From behind came Arlo’s voice, "Sit right here on the sofa and handle it, so you can tell me about it later."
"...Alright."
Ariel sat on the sofa with the documents, reading them carefully.
The room was silent, time slipping by, and Ariel’s eyelids grew heavy as she read, barely able to stay open. Staring at the densely packed words on the documents, her eyelids eventually closed completely, drifting into sleep.
Arlo was handling documents and noticed the unusual stillness from Ariel inside. Curious, he looked her way.
When his eyes landed on Ariel, he swiftly stood up, took quick strides forward, and caught her gently slipping sleeping form.
Watching her sleeping face, Arlo smiled gently and murmured to himself, "Little sleepyhead, all you do is sleep every day."
Smiling again, Arlo carefully carried Ariel and pushed open the door to the lounge.
He had heard from Callan that she had been watching Jorge Saxton’s news early in the morning, and gossiping with the secretaries about how handsome Jorge was, so he felt a bit suffocated, wanting to punish her a little.
Having her read documents by his side so she wouldn’t have time to look at Jorge Saxton’s news—but he didn’t expect her to just fall asleep.
Arlo crouched by the bed, gave Ariel’s red lips a gentle kiss, smiled softly, got up, left the lounge, and closed the door.

In the afternoon, when Ariel woke up, she found herself in the lounge again. Embarrassed, she walked out to discover that Arlo was no longer in the office; he’d probably gone to inspect other departments.
Ariel left the office, and her phone suddenly rang. She took out her phone and pressed the answer button.
"Ariel, come home for dinner tonight. Mom made some soup for you."
