Don’t know why this one is so poorly rated. Cliches and general Chinese style writing are present. The occasional piece of thinly veiled racism are also present. That being said, it’s still comparatively, much better than the majority of crap that’s getting translated now. It’s nowhere near LotM level, but vanishingly few Chinese web novels are.

The premise to the story is interesting and the writing is decent. The main character is quite smart and so far has overcome most problems with his intelligence and split second cunning. I'm at chapter 75 and so far its pretty good.

I got 16 chapters in and I can't stand it anymore. There's nothing overly bad about the writing or anything but it has a cliche that drives me up the wall. It's where something happens like for example the main character gaining a power-up of sorts and the author feels a need to demonstrate that chance instantly so they write up the most ridiculous concept for an event that feels incredibly forced and unrealistic. I'll post the specific thing below in a spoiler.Chap 16. SpoilerMc decides to buy a gun and finds out It needs supernatural blood to "awaken" so he buys it. On his way back to his house, a monster dog attacks him (middle of the city btw) and makes him drop his own blood on the gun and use it to kill the dog.

the "monster dog" was born from the guys he killed the question is how did the monster go unnoticed maybe stalking him within another dimension it was too fast

It's a good novel. A little similar start to 'The Original Seeker' if u have read it.
