Chapter 429: Forming an Alliance
Chapter 429: Forming an Alliance
"I’ve broken through, Jerry is now a level 2 Mage."
In the darkness, Jerry suddenly shouted excitedly.
After all, no one in his team had become a level 2 Mage yet.
If someone else got ahead, his position as leader would be shaky.
So, as soon as he broke through to level 2, he shouted in joy.
The others immediately gathered around to heap on the flattery.
Half an hour later, Jerry took a few people and left his camp to talk to Ivica.
This afternoon, Jerry and his team had run into Ivica and her group, and followed them to camp nearby.
But Jerry noticed that Lei Jie was already a level 2 Mage, so he didn’t go to discuss cooperation with Ivica then.
Now that he himself was a level 2 Mage, he felt he had the opportunity.
When Jerry arrived at Ivica’s camp, he found Li Kang there with two people.
And what Jerry hadn’t expected was that Li Kang and his two companions were all level 2 Mages.
Li Kang’s team having three level 2 Mages was a blow to Jerry.
Of course, it was also a blow to Ivica.
After all, he and Ivica thought that Li Kang’s move to the edge of the jungle would weaken him.
But now, they were the team with the most level 2 Mages, which couldn’t help but frustrate Ivica and Jerry.
"Speak of the devil, and he appears. Jerry, you’re just in time." Li Kang smiled slightly, nodding at Jerry.
As a level 2 Mage himself, he could naturally sense Jerry was also now a level 2 Mage.
"Since we’re all here, let’s talk cooperation." Lei Jie said, knowing that Li Kang and Jerry came here to discuss collaboration.
"I suggest our three teams merge; only this way do we stand a chance at completing the 500-day challenge." Li Kang stated directly.
"I have no objection, but how should we cooperate?" Jerry glanced at Li Kang, desiring collaboration but not wanting his manpower absorbed by Ivica and Li Kang. Of course, if he could absorb others’ members, that would be ideal.
"Militarization." Li Kang uttered three words.
Hearing those three words, Lei Jie’s eyes lit up. After all, being a military man, he naturally leaned toward this.
"Our three teams will be divided into three camps, each conducting militarized management and training. This isn’t the wilderness, it’s a battlefield. Only through militarization can we enhance our combat capabilities." Li Kang continued, not intending to absorb other teams, feeling that strengthening his own 180 men was sufficient.
Still, at present, he needed to rely on the strength of other teams.
"Indeed, I totally agree with this. Their attitudes are lacking; they need militarization." Lei Jie had wanted to do this earlier, but Ivica was somewhat against it.
But after seeing the two people with Li Kang, he knew Li Kang had been pushing for militarization for a while.
This guy was stronger than Jerry, Ivica, or himself.
"So we each command our own forces?" Jerry glanced at Li Kang, finding it hard to believe. Did this Li Kang have no ambition at all?
"Yes, we each govern our own, but we must fight together in battle without plotting against each other. As you all know, the deeper we go into the jungle, the faster we can level up. Only by uniting can we delve further in. The 1 billion prize is only for completing the 500-day challenge. Want more? We must first complete the 500-day challenge." Li Kang said directly, his reason for coming here.
"So, a Mutual Aid Alliance?" Jerry couldn’t help recalling Xu Yi’s previous Mutual Aid Alliance.
"Exactly, like the Mutual Aid Alliance Xu Yi proposed. You should understand this, Jerry, though now we’re not just a squad." Li Kang’s team included those who had come over from the Desert with Xu Yi, so they knew about his previous Mutual Aid Alliance.
"Fine, no objections from me." Ivica was the first to express her view, having understood the concept of a Mutual Aid Alliance, especially since some in her team had come from the Desert with Xu Yi and had given her insights into Xu Yi.
"I agree as well." Jerry also liked this Mutual Aid Alliance model; after all, without interference, there would be no absorption.
"Good, but our camps should be spaced 30 meters apart, forming a triangle, what do you think?" Li Kang continued, since 10 meters was too close; at 30 meters, you could still hear yelling and provide timely aid.
"Sure, that distance works." Jerry agreed quickly, not wanting the teams too close, which wouldn’t allow any private conversations without being overheard.
"Additionally, I propose we advance 10 kilometers south each day. Only by continually pushing forward can we improve. During the other times, we manage ourselves. But if other teams need help, we must provide assistance immediately." Li Kang added one last important point.
"Great, happy cooperation." Ivica extended her hand, feeling that securing Li Kang was no less valuable than securing Xu Yi. After all, Li Kang’s team had 180 people; if secured, her team would have three hundred.
Three hundred plus, surely that’s more than just 12 people?
And Jerry?
She knew very well he was impossible to sway; he was probably plotting to sway her instead.
"Happy cooperation." Li Kang placed his hand over Ivica’s happily.
"Happy cooperation." Jerry wore a broad smile as well.
"By the way, have you seen Xu Yi?" Li Kang asked offhandedly after withdrawing his hand.
He wanted to pull Xu Yi into the fold, and since Xu Yi was with Qin Fan, he saw an opportunity to do so.
"No, but I’ve seen his teammates; they have six mounts." Ivica offered up this information.
"Oh, they have mounts?" Li Kang looked at Ivica with some surprise; he himself had tried taming Fierce Beasts, but hadn’t succeeded at all.
"Yes, Xu Yi is a Divine Master and can tame Fierce Beasts. I proposed a trade, but haven’t received a response," Ivica remarked with some frustration, believing Xu Yi had likely declined.
"I saw them too, just yesterday. Their members were being chased by over twenty Fierce Beasts. Looks like they’ve gotten out safely." Jerry also mentioned, since there were no reports of eliminations or deaths among Xu Yi’s group.
"To escape such a situation, they must be incredibly strong, no wonder they can survive in the jungle with just a dozen people." Li Kang commented with envy, previously lacking a direct understanding of a Divine Master’s power. But knowing Xu Yi could tame Fierce Beasts made Li Kang appreciate the strength of a Divine Master.
