Chapter 1097 - 250: New Blood Seal (Part 1)

"What? The Black Qilin clan’s presence has suddenly vanished? How is that possible? This time, the Black Qilin clan dispatched a thousand warriors, led by Hei Yao and Hei Linlin, father and daughter," Zi was incredulous.

Not only Zi, but also the other warriors of the Di and Jiuluan clans were equally skeptical.

Even without mentioning the thousand elite from the Black Qilin clan, they were already tough to deal with.

Hei Yao alone was said to surpass tens of thousands of men.

Hei Yao was considered the strongest clan leader of the Eight Desolate Beast Clan in recent years, and it was feared that even the clan leaders of the Jiuluan and Di clans might not be able to defeat him.

"The Soul Search cannot be wrong; the Human Clan must have found another of the Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts. If I’m not mistaken, the one who defeated Hei Yao could very well be the Heavenly Destiny Mirror, rumored to reflect all magic and combat skills," Lu, who had studied the Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts, spoke.

Among the Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts, most are controlled by humans, except for the Heavenly Destiny Mirror, which grows stronger when facing a strong opponent. It could be said that Hei Yao wasn’t defeated by the Heavenly Destiny Mirror but rather by himself.

"Does that mean the Human Clan now possesses two Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts?" Zi was filled with shock and anxiety.

"No, the Human Clan is deceitful. I fear they possess more than two divine artifacts," Lu believed the Humans likely had other Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts in their possession.

"Chi Mugu, how dare you deceive us? Believe it or not, I’ll kill you!" Zi was furious, his face frosty with anger, nearly falling for the trap, as he grabbed Chi Mugu, ready to unleash his rage.

"I’m the young clan chief of the Ba Snake Tribe. If you dare harm a hair on my body, my father will never let you go," Chi Mugu shouted.

"Zi, let him go," Lu signaled Zi with a look, and Zi reluctantly released his grip.

Chi Mugu hurriedly scrambled up and fled in a sorry state.

"Why didn’t you let me kill him?" Zi despised backstabbers like Chi Mugu the most.

"It’s not time to kill him yet. I planted a soul seed in his Magic Soul," Lu’s gaze was deep.

Zi’s eyes narrowed.

Lu had planted a soul seed in Chi Mugu’s Magic Soul just moments before?

As Lu’s friend since childhood, Zi was one of the few who knew about Lu’s inheritance.

Lu’s first inheritance was the Soul Search he just used on Chi Mugu; the second was the Soul Eater, which involved absorbing the opponent’s Magic Soul Power for one’s own use.

Lu’s third inheritance was new, gained after obtaining the Nine Phoenix King Relics, and it was the most domineering—soul seed.

The soul seed was a special magic power capable of secretly absorbing a person’s Magic Soul Power without detection, growing until the person becomes a puppet under Lu’s full control.

In a way, Lu’s soul seed was similar to the Heart Difficulty Lamp, one of the Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts, and the Sky Fox Clan’s Corpse Puppetry.

But unlike the Heart Difficulty Lamp and Corpse Puppetry, there was no way to remove a soul seed once planted. The only way to completely remove a soul seed was to detonate it.

However, doing so would certainly result in the death of the person with the soul seed.

Chi Mugu, corrupted by Lu’s soul seed, faced a future far worse than death.

Would Lu resort to such insidious tactics?

He really was different from before; what had changed him so much?

Zi pondered silently.

Lu, too, had a flicker in his gaze. He hadn’t fully disclosed all of Chi Mugu’s memories to Zi.

Chi Mugu’s memory revealed that the group using the Eight Desolate Divine Artifacts within the Blood Realm were members of the Mainland Magic Elite Camp, whom they had encountered earlier.

Upon returning to the Bahuang Continent, Lu had investigated and found that Yun Sheng was from the Mainland Magic Elite Camp, and she was one of the brightest trainees there.

Lu sighed inwardly, feeling an indescribable melancholy.

"Lu, what should we do next? If not even Hei Yao could gain any benefit, then going to the Dutian Blood Realm might be a waste of time," Zi mused.

As they spoke, there came a sound from within the Chaos Zone akin to a leopard’s roar.

Upon hearing the sound, Lu’s eyes changed, and he exchanged a glance with Zi.

"It’s the summons signal from the Beast God Altar," Lu and Zi both recognized it, a distinctive call from the Beast God Altar.

"This time, it’s the Third and Fifth Priests from the Beast God Altar, and the summons was sent by the Fifth Priest," Zi didn’t like the Third Priest.

The Third Priest was lecherous, having abducted some handsome young men and women from the Di Clan in the past.

As the Young Clan Chief of the Jiuluan Clan, Lu was also unwilling to be associated with such people.

"In that case, let’s infiltrate the Dutian Blood Realm first and act when the time is right," Zi and Lu chose to ignore the summons and headed towards the entrance of the Blood Realm that Chi Mugu had mentioned earlier.

They aimed to enter the Blood Realm before the Third Priest.

The summons indeed came from the Beast God Altar’s Third Priest.

The Third Priest was in a part of the Chaos Zone where the magic barrier was relatively weak, waiting for the arrival of other Eight Desolate Beast Clans.

The Third Priest was a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties, with a face showing the signs of excessive indulgence, and he wore a sullen expression.

Upon hearing the summons, the first to arrive were the Bimong Clan of the Eight Desolate Beast Clan, followed by the gradual arrival of the Azure Nether Wolf Clan and the Sky Fox Clan.

"What’s with the other tribes, daring to disregard the Beast God Altar’s command? I’ll report to the First Priest when I return," the Third Priest had initially set out with the Fifth Priest.

However, the Fifth Priest, eager for merit, had rushed into the Dutian Blood Realm ahead, leaving the Third Priest alone.

Since then, there had been no news, and the Third Priest had tried to contact the Fifth Priest several times without success.

The Third Priest hadn’t realized that the Fifth Priest had met with disaster, as he believed that in terms of Corpse Control, the Fifth Priest’s abilities were unmatched by the Human Clan.

He suspected that the Fifth Priest and the Black Qilin clan had plotted together to steal the glory.

Thus, the Third Priest was eager to break into the Blood Realm.

Little did he know, in forcing his way through the seal of the Blood Realm, he discovered that the Human Clan’s barrier seemed to have changed.

Initially, when the Dutian Blood Seal collapsed, the barrier between the Bahuang Continent and the Wuji Continent was constantly weakening and would eventually disappear.

Yet, after searching around, the Third Priest found that the barrier, once weak, was instead growing stronger—a trend that greatly alarmed him.

There was only one possibility for the barrier to continually strengthen: the Human Clan had found a way to redraw the Dutian Blood Seal.
