Legend of The Young Master

Chapter 97: Mind and Soul

Chapter 97: Mind and Soul

Wuyi listened intently, processing each detail. Then he stated his proposition. "I have a number of Qi Warriors idle for now. They're warriors who crave battle. I've heard of merchants hiring bandits and rogue Qi Warriors to attack their competitors. How about we strike a deal?

You inform me in advance of any rich procession leaving Huanghou or Kaliyuan. Specially those of Sylvaris Dewroot and similar materials. My men intercept it, and we return the goods to you. We split the profits: 50% for me, 50% for you. Xuebi will accompany you to ensure my interests are safeguarded.

In return, my warriors will protect your processions, especially when carrying precious cargo, for a percentage of the profits. I'll send 15 Qi Warriors for this purpose.

Xuebi will be officially setting up a faction in Huanghou to oversee this operation. Our aim is also to clear out bandits and rogue cultivators. Kaliyuan and Huanghou are major trading hubs with no clear ruler. Now that I am a noble of Huanghou, the three challenges I see are the Qingyang Clan, Jinxiu, and Haoling Clans, the ruling clans.

I want you to increase your sphere of influence and become the leader of traders and merchants in the area so we can get into trades of the cultivation world. I think we have enough wealth and warriors to take on these clans."

Zhu Dexin looked surprised but thoughtful. "While the Jinxiu and Haoling Clans hold a monopoly, they lack the strength to oppose you directly. However, they are supported by the Qingyang Clan, and although the Qingyang Clan may be weakened, their leader is a Qi Master. It won't be easy. Besides, you haven't considered how the Kaliyuan nobles will react.

These noble clans are connected to the imperial family's subordinate clans. I don't think, even with your many warriors, you can afford the wrath of the imperial family."

Wuyi replied nonchalantly, "Firstly, the Qi master of the Qingyang Clan won't be a problem. When the time comes, he will be taken care of. Secondly, regarding the nobles in Kaliyuan, I've heard they have been trying to capture the demonic ten for years without success.

As for the subordinate clans of the imperial family, as far as I understand, they do not concern themselves with local politics as long as they continue receiving a supply of cultivation herbs. I don't think they will care. Does that resolve all your concerns?"

This casual dismissal of a Qi Master's strength startled Zhu Dexin. The proposed deal was highly advantageous for him, so he accepted without hesitation. This Young Master, who had Qi adepts as his subordinates, had shown him enough prowess for him to have faith in him.

Besides, there was something about this young master, maybe his charisma, because his mind kept asking him to agree with this young master.

The next day, as Zhu Dexin left the estate, Xuebi and fifteen Qi Warriors accompanied him. Their mission was clear: to enforce Wuyi's interests and execute the ambitious plan they had set into motion.

A year had passed since Wuyi returned to his estate. Wuyi was fourteen this year, reaching fifteen, though if someone looked at him, he appeared around 18 already. Only the lack of hair on his face gave away that he was young. This last year was one of the quietest and most peaceful years for Wuyi.

During this time, he had invested a portion of his wealth into constructing a dedicated cultivation chamber. This chamber had become his sanctuary, where he spent the majority of his time, emerging only on rare occasions. Six months ago, he had already reached Qi master. The statues were now receiving vast amounts of Qi.

Wuyi, however, allowed the statues to retain most of the energy they accumulated, using only a minimal amount to stabilize his cultivation. He had scaled the heights of cultivation remarkably fast, reaching Qi Master in just three years, but he now intended to consolidate his power at this level while seeking a more advanced cultivation method.

Wuyi had come to realize that cultivation was not merely about harnessing the energy of the world. It was a holistic approach to enhancing oneself – body, soul, and mind. While cultivating his body through the cycling of Qi was straightforward, nurturing the soul and mind proved more challenging, as there were no definitive methods for these.

Even though he had not yet acquired the right cultivation technique to set him on the path to becoming an immortal, Wuyi managed to obtain some unique cultivation methods through the connections he established using his followers in Huanghou over the last year. He studied all of them to enhance his knowledge of mind and soul cultivation; sadly, none were suitable for him to practice.

However, that did not deter him. With the acquired manuals and his unique advantage, he developed two techniques that could aid in cultivating his soul and mind.

For the soul, the technique he developed was called the "Purity Soul Method." This technique was created by the Statue of knowledge by combining two techniques called Purity Heart Method and Resonant Soul Technique. This method involved channeling Qi to cleanse and elevate the soul, allowing for a deeper connection with the body and mind energies.

For the mind, he developed a technique called the "Zenith Enlightened Mind Arts," which focused on expanding mental capacity and clarity, strengthening the mind's control over Qi and the body. For this art, the Statue of knowledge had combined two mind techniques called Enlightened Mind Technique and Zenith Cognitive Technique.

Though they sounded as if they were immortal mind arts, they were basics of mind enhancement.

He spent a lot of time understanding and setting a foundation for himself for mind and soul cultivation since he did not have anyone to guide him, he had to be careful, and he used the statue of knowledge to its full extent. He understood that beyond the Qi lord stage, cultivators needed to nurture their mind and soul to advance further.

So working on his soul and mind at the Qi master level itself was a good idea.
