Chapter 18 Half-Blood Mongol
Chapter 18 Half-Blood Mongol
Night fell quickly. After carefully surveying and confirming the location of the teleportation array, Lin Chi didn't dare to delay and hurriedly returned to the camp.
But the atmosphere in the front yard was unusual today.
A large group of people gathered there, seemingly surrounding some important figure, their clamor tinged with obsequiousness.
Lin Chi quietly approached and peered through the firelight. In the center of the crowd stood a strikingly conspicuous elven man.
He wore an exquisitely crafted exotic outfit that shimmered with an icy blue light, and held in his hand a similarly translucent, ornately designed halberd. He was much taller than the humans around him, with a slender and upright figure, standing out like a crane among chickens in the crowd. Just by standing there, he exuded an undeniable, chilling aura.
"This place really stinks," the elven man said, his voice cold and undisguised in his disgust. He frowned slightly and waved his hand in disgust in front of his nose. "I can hardly tell if this is real stench or just the 'stench' accumulated from the memories of the elven race."
The bandits in the camp huddled together timidly, their faces plastered with fawning, almost humble smiles, surrounding the elven man, barely daring to breathe.
"Oh my! Isn't this the great man of 'Eternal Green'—Lord Martell Ferren!" Madman was the first to squeeze out from the crowd, bowing low with the most obsequious smile on his face, his voice sickeningly sweet. "What wind has blown you to our backyard? It's such an honor to have you here!"
"Just passing by." Martell didn't even bother to lift his eyelids, his disdain deepening. "I didn't expect you ants to dare block the road and collect 'protection money,' is that it?"
"No, no! Lord Martell, you're joking!" Madman was so frightened that he quickly waved his hands and bent down even lower.
"A man of your stature, why would you need our protection? Everyone knows the 'Judge' of the Elven Court! We were blind to your greatness and offended you, sir. We deserve to be punished!" he said, making a gesture as if to slap himself.
"Alright," Martell interrupted him impatiently. "By order of the Elf King, patrol each level of the dungeons to see if any elven sinners are hiding within. Since you're all practically 'natives' of this level..."
His eyes shifted slightly, his gaze sweeping across Madman's face like a knife, as if it could pierce through flesh and look straight into his soul.
"Did you see them? The elves are hiding here?"
When Crazy saw the undisguised level 57 on the other person's body out of the corner of his eye, his throat went dry.
When Lin Chi saw this, his heart jumped into his throat!
"Damn it! This madman might betray my mother!" He instinctively reached into his backpack and gripped the hallucinogenic grenade he had made, his body tense, ready to create chaos if things went wrong.
However, Crazy's next reaction was beyond Lin Chi's expectations.
"No way! How could any noble elves want to stay in a stinking ditch or a muddy swamp like ours? Don't you think so?" Madman said, then suddenly turned his head and glared at each of his men, winking and shouting, "Do you know what I mean?"
"Never seen it before!"
"Even the elf lord would frown upon this wretched place!"
"Exactly!"
However, there was a naive young man in the crowd who had only recently arrived at the camp.
He blurted out, "Isn't the lady in our house an elf?"
After saying that, as if afraid of missing the opportunity, he hurriedly squeezed out of the crowd and jogged over to Martell's side, his face showing excitement at being eager to perform and expose him.
When Madman looked at the newcomer, the muscles on his face instantly contorted, his eyes widened, and his expression was as if he wanted to tear this idiot to pieces with his gaze.
A cold smile curled at the corner of Martell's lips as he instantly understood the current situation.
He stepped aside to shield the newcomer behind him, and at the same time, his halberd slammed heavily into the ground with a loud thud. A water-based aura, accompanied by his level 57 aura, spread out, causing those around him to shiver involuntarily.
"Very good, speak up boldly. Providing valuable clues deserves a reward. I have a few 'Level Breakthrough Stones' here, perfect for giving to honest people. These days, too many people are protecting each other and scheming against each other for petty gains, which is truly despicable. You, continue."
"Thank you! Thank you, Lord Martell!" The newcomer was so excited he almost knelt down, speaking rapidly, "The lady of this house is named Lin Ruyan, and she's an elf! However, she spends most of her time in the backyard and rarely comes to the front yard!"
"They all know, but they're all keeping it a secret! They must have taken bribes from the madam! And they bully me, the newcomer, every day, dumping all the dirty and hard work on me! Sir, you must do me justice!"
"The backyard...is that it?" Martell's gaze turned toward the back of the mansion.
"Yes! It's near that glass room over there!" The newcomer nodded and bowed as he pointed the way.
After the newcomer finished speaking, Martell leaped to the back of the glass room, leaving behind a newcomer who was still eager for a level breakthrough stone. He was immediately surrounded by Madman and a group of bloodthirsty subordinates.
"traitor!"
"If I can't get my hands on Soul-Devouring Neutralizer anymore, I'll be the first to skin you alive!"
"You're too clever for your own good!"
Punches and kicks rained down, accompanied by vicious curses.
But at this moment, Lin Chi had completely lost interest in the farce unfolding in the front yard. The instant he saw Martell lunge towards the backyard, his mind went blank, and only one thought remained:
Mom is in danger!
In the backyard, inside the glass room.
Lin Ruyan and Shangguan Qiluo were carefully taking care of the spiritual plants.
"Crash—Bang!"
With the sound of shattering glass, a figure exuding a powerful aura crashed through the glass like a cannonball and appeared abruptly in front of the two!
"Martial Ferren?" The moment Lin Ruyan saw who it was, her pupils contracted sharply, all color drained from her face, and shock was palpable. "You... how did you get here!"
"Lin Ruyan?" Martell's gaze swept over Lin Ruyan, a cold smile of realization mixed with deep sarcasm creeping onto his lips. "I was wondering which elf would have such a lowly name... So it's you, the once-famous 'lovesick girl'—Ailuo Xibel!"
"What? What happened to that 'hero' Lin Feng, who made you betray your clan and elope? Has he finally gone completely mad and died somewhere? Hahaha!" He let out a burst of unreserved laughter when he mentioned Lin Feng's name.
"Enough!" Lin Ruyan's face was pale, but her eyes turned cold.
"What about the steadfastness of love? You've thrown even the most basic reason and tribal rules to the wind, getting involved with a madwoman—what a joke! But if you obediently come back to the Elven realm with me now, undergo the cleansing of your memories, and forget these unbearable pasts, it won't be such a big sin. After all, who hasn't made a fool of themselves when they were young? Let's go."
"Qiluo, you go first." Lin Ruyan turned her head and whispered to Shangguan Qiluo, whose body was already tense behind her.
Shangguan Qiluo glanced at Lin Ruyan with concern, then turned and left quickly without hesitation.
"Aurora Hybel, please." Martell gestured "please" toward the mansion's gate.
"What exactly are you here for!" Lin Ruyan didn't move, but instead took half a step forward, staring at Martel with a wary expression.
"So, you're here to ask me to return to my tribe? What else could it be?" Martel frowned, his impatience growing more pronounced. "Or do you want me to call you by that name you took after that madman from the human race—Lin, Ru, Yan?"
Before he finished speaking, he reached out and, with an irresistible force, grabbed Lin Ruyan's wrist, intending to forcibly take her away!
Just then, Lin Chi rushed over from the front yard and kicked Martel without hesitation.
"Let go of my mother!" Lin Chi roared.
But Martell quickly reacted, dodging Lin Chi's flying kick with a quick movement, and stared in shock at the human boy in front of him.
"Mom? You actually had sex with Lin Feng and even had his child? That's a serious crime!" The shock on Martel's face was quickly replaced by a furious outburst of rage.
He abruptly turned to Lin Ruyan, his voice rising with anger and carrying a judgmental chill: "Ailuo Sibel! Do you know your crime?!"
"Spare Chi'er! He's innocent! I'll take full responsibility for all the crimes!" Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Ruyan suddenly opened her arms, completely shielding Lin Chi behind her, her face pale but her plea exceptionally firm.
"Innocent? This despicable half-breed is a stain on the honor of the Elven race!" Martell's eyes revealed murderous intent, all traces of his previous "persuasion" gone, replaced by a cold desire to purify.
"It must be removed immediately!"
After saying that, Martel prepared to thrust his halberd at Lin Chi.
