Legally Not Yours

The Happily Ever After

The Happily Ever After

POV Leah

It started with a fight, of course. It always did with us.

"You can't just bulldoze over my case notes because you want to play professor in front of those poor first-years," I hissed, slamming the folder shut with a snap that echoed across the lecture room.

Jared barely looked up from the desk, his tone maddeningly calm. "They were a mess. I was saving your reputation."

I rounded on him. "You rewrote everything in red ink! Red, Jared. You practically vandalized my argument like it was a murder scene."

He shrugged, standing up and adjusting his blazer.

"Well, if you weren't so emotionally attached to your excessive semicolons, maybe you'd appreciate constructive criticism."

I gasped. "Semicolons are elegant. You have no taste."

He leaned in, his voice dropping to that infuriating whisper that made my spine stiffen.

"No, I just have standards."

I clenched my fists. "You're lucky we were in a room full of students or I would've thrown that stapler at your smug face."

"And you're lucky I didn't point out your footnote disaster during your presentation," he shot back.

"That footnote was intentional!"

"It was a cry for help."

I threw my hands in the air. "I swear to God, Jared Connors, I will end you."

He smirked. "Make sure it's after lunch. I'd hate to die hungry."

I stormed out. Not because I didn’t have a comeback, but because I didn’t trust myself not to jump him in front of the faculty lounge.

He followed, of course. Because that was us: a hurricane in tailored suits. We danced on a line between fury and passion, and neither of us knew how to stop. And maybe we didn’t want to.

I walked faster, not looking back. I knew he was behind me, I could hear the weight of his footsteps, confident and infuriatingly measured.

I turned sharply and pulled open a forgotten door down one of the old corridors of the law building. The unused seminar room had been collecting dust for years. I stepped inside, heart hammering.

He entered two seconds later, still smirking. "So this is where we’re doing it now?"

I grabbed his tie, yanked him down, and pressed my lips against his with a ferocity that caught us both off-guard.

Our bodies collided like the meeting of two passionate storms, neither willing to yield to the other. His back thudded against the door while I stumbled into the table, our breaths heavy with desire.

“I still think you have no taste,” I chuckled and he bit my lips.

“Don’t talk about work when all I think about is to fuck you, baby.”

“You’re saying that because you keep mak—” He smacked my ass lightly and pulled away.

Fumbling for his shirt buttons, I finally managed to release them as he shoved my jacket off my shoulders. Our kisses were fiery and wild, our teeth and tongues clashing in an unbridled dance of passion.

With a swift push, I created some distance between us and began stripping off my clothes one by one, letting them fall to the floor like the discarded petals of a rose.

“You always look like sin.” His eyes roamed over my body, his gaze igniting butterflies in my stomach as it always did.

“Thank you for the compliment, but your dick—-”

“My dick will make you scream, Leah.” He closed the gap between us once more, pressing his lips against the soft skin of my neck in a slow and deliberate descent. Each kiss sent shivers down my spine as he moved from my neck to my breast.

His tongue flicked over my hardened nipple before his lips traced a path down my stomach, finally reaching the heated core between my thighs.

“Jesus…”

“That’s rude when I did all the work, love.”

I gasped as he raised one of my legs onto his shoulder and proceeded to lavish attention on the sensitive folds of skin below. Moans escaped me as his skilled tongue swirled around my clit and dipped inside me, driving me to the edge of ecstasy.

My body spasmed in pleasure as I reached climax while he continued to tease my nipples with pinches that sent electric jolts through me.

Before I even had a chance to catch my breath and reciprocate his affections, he thrust his already hard cock inside me without warning.

Our rhythm was intense; he drove into me with a force that made my head spin and my body sing with pleasure. His hands roamed over the planes of my body as his pace quickened.

As we reached our climax together, a dizzying wave of ecstasy washed over us both.

I dropped to my knees, taking his still-twitching cock into my mouth, savoring the taste of him mixed with the remnants of our shared pleasure.

Looking up at him, I saw rapture on his face as he threaded his fingers through my hair, gripping it gently yet possessively.

"You're such a good girl, Leah," he praised, his voice thick with lust.

I flicked my tongue teasingly against the tip of his cock as I peered up at him with a coy innocence.

"You like that?" He groaned, throwing his head back in ecstasy before pulling me up to meet him in a flurry of heated kisses.

"You—" kiss. "Drive me—" gasp. "Absolutely insane."

"Good," I growled. "You deserve it."

His hands were on my hips, lifting me up slightly before releasing me again, torn between reverence and wild abandon.

"I love you," he whispered suddenly. I stilled. His voice softened. "I love you, Leah. I’ve loved you since the day you humiliated me in front of a room full of legacies with that wine spill and a speech about privilege."

I blinked, heart twisting. "I just give you a head, no need to be so dramatic."

He smiled against my lips. "Say it back."

"What? That you’re dramatic? Gladly."

"Leah." I exhaled slowly, resting my forehead against his.

"I love you, Jared Connors. Even when I hate you. Especially then."

His eyes closed for a second, as if absorbing the words. Then he chuckled. "So we’re official now?"

I grinned. "We’ve been official since you made me sign that stupid contract."

He groaned. "You’re never letting that go, are you?"

"I framed it."

"You did not."

"It’s on my desk. Next to your little leather planner that you think no one touches."

He buried his face in my neck and laughed. For a second, the whole world faded away.

Later, lying on the dusty table tangled in clothing and someone's forgotten paper notes, he turned to me. His arm looped around my waist. My head on his chest.

"We’re really doing this, aren’t we?"

"You mean the reckless closet hookups? Because yeah, that’s sort of our brand."

He nudged me gently. "I mean the real thing. You and me. Connors Legal. A future."

I tilted my head up to look at him.

"It won’t be easy," I said.

"I know."

"We’ll fight. A lot."

"Of course."

"You’ll rewrite my notes again and I’ll consider poisoning your coffee."

"I’d expect nothing less." I smiled. "But yeah. I want all of it."

He pulled me tighter, his lips brushing my forehead.

"Then it’s settled. We build it together. The firm. Our life and chaos."

I nodded. "As long as I get top billing on our business cards."

"Rosewood & Connors?"

"Obviously."

He rolled his eyes. "Only if I get naming rights to the first child."

"Done. As long as it’s not a junior."

He paused. "Then we’ll negotiate."

I laughed. Jared Connors and Leah Rosewood: former enemies, current lovers, eternal rivals.

We weren’t perfect. But we were ours. And finally, that was more than enough.
