The Dangerous Encounter
The Dangerous Encounter
POV: Jared
Working with Leah was a definition of hell and she’s really testing my patience.
She started to argue about little things. Constantly and loudly, I might add. That glint in her eyes that made me want to both strangle her and rip off her blouse.
“No, Jared,” she said, slapping a binder down. “We use Precedent B, not your ridiculous shortcut. If you actually read the witness deposition—”
“I read it,” I snapped. “Twice. It contradicts Precedent B, which is why we’d get shredded if you tried it in court.”
“We’re not in court. This is a training document.”
“And it has to reflect reality. Not whatever daydream you scribbled into your notes.”
She leaned forward. “You’re threatened by anyone who challenges your ego. News flash: I’m not here to stroke it.”
‘Wrong’, I thought darkly. ‘You signed the contract. You're here to obey’.
I watched her mouth move fast, furious, stubborn, and my pulse beat hard in places it shouldn’t during a legal discussion.
She had no idea how much she affected me. Or maybe she did.
Maybe she knew exactly what she was doing, pushing all the right buttons. That, somehow, made it worse. The thought of her being fully aware of the power she held over me—that she was choosing to play with it was infuriating.
I couldn’t stand the idea of her holding the reins, watching me squirm under her gaze, enjoying the control. But that was the thing with Leah, she was unpredictable. Unforgiving. Every time I thought I had her figured out, she flipped the script.
She kept me on edge, always just out of reach, and it drove me insane.
I needed to break the spell. To remind myself who I was in this. I had to reclaim control, I had to show her that I wasn’t some puppet she could string along with a few well-timed glances or biting words.
But the longer I let her slip away from me, the harder it became to hold on to that control. Every little smile, every moment she allowed herself to be vulnerable, it felt like she was chipping away at the walls I’d built.
No. That was dangerous thinking.
I just needed to remind her. Remind her of the power she had handed over to me and make sure she never forgot it again.
“You seem to have forgotten something,” I said after a long silence.
She looked up. “Like your ability to listen?”
I pulled the contract out of my briefcase and laid it flat on the table and she froze awkwardly.
“I’ve been patient,” I said, voice even. “Letting you argue, run your mouth, pretend this is still equal.”
Her eyes narrowed. “It is equal.”
“No,” I said, tapping the paper. “You signed and I fulfilled my part of the deal.”
She hesitated when I leaned back, folding my arms. Her silence was answer enough.
“I cleared our name, I mean technically your name since you want a good reputation so badly,” I said. “I met with dad, told him the copier fire was my fault. Said you panicked because of me. That we were... involved.”
She blinked. “You what?”
“Your file’s clean again and your scholarship’s safe. Because of me.” I leaned forward. “Now it’s time you hold up your end.”
She stared at me with such an adorable fierce gaze that I couldn’t hold back a smile.
“Task one,” I said softly. “You’re going to serve me a coffee. In the meeting room, nicely and sexy. Right now.”
“No way!” She folded her arms. “You know you can get your own coffee. What are you doing?”
“Texting father,” I said calmly, picking up my phone. “Letting him know I remembered something. About the copier fire.”
“FINE!” She stood up so fast her chair scraped. “Ugh! You’re such a bastard, hate you.”
“Then serve me like you mean it.”
Five minutes later, we were alone in the meeting room. I sat in one of the leather chairs. Leah walked in holding a single cup of coffee. No tray. No smile.
“Nicely, Leah. Don’t forget about the sexy part too…”
She smiled forcefully and her eyes burned with annoyance. She walked seductively, making me uncomfortable and then put the coffee in front of me.
“Hot,” I said as I took a sip. “Just the way I like it, good girl.”
“Enjoy it while it lasts,” she hissed.
“You missed a step.” I said cocking my head and she raised an eyebrow. “Come here.”
But she didn’t move, just continued to look at me suspiciously.
“I said come here.” Slowly, she stepped closer. “On my lap,” I added and it’s when she stopped.
“No.” I shrugged and picked up my phone again. “Fine,” she hissed. “You want a show?”
Leah climbed onto my lap. Too fast, too angry perhaps, and then—she froze. Her eyes widened, looking at me blinking a few times.
She could feel it now. My rock hard dick pressed against her through my slacks, firm and hot under the thin fabric of her panties. She started to move, but I grabbed her hip just in time, holding her there.
“No,” I said, voice low. “You stay.”
Her breath hitched. We sat like that, motionless. My hands on her waist. Her thighs are tight over mine, heat building between us like fire in a sealed room.
I leaned in, my mouth brushing her ear. “This is what happens when you challenge me.”
