Chapter 738 - 738 727 Dragon Knight

Chapter 738: Chapter 727 Dragon Knight Chapter 738: Chapter 727 Dragon Knight “Interesting!”

Muria was walking on a country lane, with humans farmers sowing seeds on both sides of it. It was only then he remembered, based on the early human calendar, that it was currently the season for spring ploughing.

He carefully observed the human commoners farming by the road. The faces of these farmers still showed signs of hunger, and most of their clothes were worn and ragged, basically, just a few patches of cloth roughly sewn together.

Moreover, Muria saw residual whip marks on these farmers and traces of handcuffs and shackles on their hands and feet. However, these farmers wore smiles on their faces, their faces expressing anticipation for tomorrow, and their eyes were full of spirit.

“Slaves!” From the residual traces on these people, Muria quickly judged their previous identity. Ordinary humans with traces of handcuffs on their hands could only be slaves.

It was quite normal for mankind to maintain the system of slavery when possessed with extraordinary powers. Many people who have mastered extraordinary powers treat ordinary humans like livestock.

However, these farmers who were farming were clearly no longer slaves. Judging from their expressions, it’s highly probable that they have broken free from the identity of slaves.

Muria, who was dressed in splendid attire, walking along the country lane, did not draw the attention of these farmers because, as mortals, they couldn’t see him.

Of course, Muria’s concealment wasn’t very deep, only those below Soul Intent Level couldn’t see him. Those of Soul Intent Level and above, even warriors, could sense his presence through the power of their souls.

Muria walked and observed all the way, gradually approaching a city. He noticed more farmers tilling the land, their smiles more genuine than ever.

Not only that, he saw some officials who were guiding farmers to till the fields. This represented that the lord here or the ruling class paid great attention to farming. Otherwise, these officials would not be running to the field to discuss with a bunch of mud-legs how to farm better.

“His Excellency will come for inspection soon, so pull yourselves together and make no mistakes. Otherwise, I cannot protect any of you.” One of the officials instructing the slaves to farm raised his head and reprimanded his subordinates, appearing very nervous yet expectant.

“We know, Agricultural Officer. The great Dragon Knight, His Majesty Bernard, inspects his territory every ten days, and today is the tenth day.”

These bureaucratic officials occasionally looked up to the sky; Muria naturally noticed this and also curiously observed the sky. According to their movements, their so-called grand duke, the Dragon Knight, would come from the sky.

Moreover, judging by their performances, this was not an isolated incident. The ruler of this land apparently patrolled periodically, so much so that these officials were all familiar with the pattern.

ROAR!

A brutal and fierce Dragon Chant resonated from a distance. Under Muria’s watch, a gigantic Red Dragon flew over from afar. Wherever it passed, half of the clouds were dyed red by the flames overflowing from its body, appearing extremely provocative.

Muria didn’t pay attention to this seemingly just matured Red Dragon, whose power could compare with those extremely old Red Dragons. His gaze fell between the horns of this dragon, where a man in golden armor, draped in a purple cloak was surveilling the land beneath him.

Soon, when the dragon drew near, the officials guiding the serfs raised their heads toward the sky and saluted the Dragon Knight.

The figure standing at the top of the giant dragon nodded in satisfaction after seeing this, but just as he prepared to fly over this area, he suddenly halted and abruptly looked back, he had just sensed some unique presence watching him.

Upon this thought, he immediately redirected the Red Dragon beneath him. He had always trusted his intuition, it was thanks to this feeling that he achieved what he has today. Once again, he rode the giant dragon back to the previous area, but he could not see Muria who was invisible.

Even so, the knight was not willing to give up. He commanded the Red Dragon to circle once, and upon finding nothing abnormal, he quickly channelled his fighting Qi into his eyes and operated his pupil technique. He then saw Muria, looking up at him.

“That is…” The moment when the Red Dragon Knight’s gaze met Muria’s radiant golden pupils, he felt a shudder, and a strong sense of intimidation rose within his heart. Then, he instantly realized Muria’s identity.

“Dragon!” An exhilaration sprang out from Bernard’s heart, similar to encountering a rare treasure. The knight immediately rode his Red Dragon, landing not far from Muria. Seeing no reaction from him, Bernard dismounted from the dragon, adjusting his equipment and putting on his most respectful smile as he approached Muria.

“His Majesty!” As Dragon Knight Bernard descended, officials around and farmers at work fell to their knees to pay homage to him. His authority in this area was evidently entrenched.

However, neither Muria nor Bernard took much notice. Especially Bernard, his eyes contained nothing but his dragon. In his view, these people were insignificant compared to dragons. With sufficient dragons, he could have as many officials or farmers as he desired, couldn’t he?

“Powerful being, welcome to Thorns Territory! I am its lord, Bernard Tulip.” The knight who rode the Red Dragon greeted Muria with an introduction. His tone was very friendly, mainly because he couldn’t fathom Muria’s true strength. Under his mystic gaze, Muria was a radiant light, devoid of any human form, such a sight was a first for Bernard.

“Hmm.” Muria nodded indifferently.

“What is your name?” Bernard stared intently at Muria, which made him slightly uncomfortable. Instinctively he disliked such scrutiny, an annoyance naturally rose within him. He suspected Bernard had ulterior motives.

“Mu!” After some thought, Muria gave him a name. He was interested in the territory, which was clearly just taken out from the desolate wilderness but was already well-regulated, suggesting the ruler was adept at management and farming.

“Mu, where are you from? What are you here for? Do you need my help?” Bernard was very concerned about this powerful, unknown dragon who had suddenly appeared in his domain.

“I am from there.” Muria casually pointed in a direction. Since the surrounding area was all wilderness, he was not afraid of being seen through. He had heard that humans appeared here and, out of curiosity, decided to take a look.

“I see.” On hearing that Muria had come to his territory out of curiosity, Bernard breathed a sigh of relief. His rationale for patrolling every ten days was precisely because occasionally dragons, driven by their curiosity, wandered into his domain. Some dragons even coveted his prosperous territory and often harbored plundering intentions.

“Are you satisfied with your curiosity?” Bernard, full of anticipation, stared at Muria. According to the shape he just observed, he inferred that Muria was different from the regular Five Colored Dragons.

He had seen Gemstone Dragons before, but the light was not that kind. Since he was not a Five Colored Dragon, nor a Gemstone Dragon, Bernard speculated that he was a Metallic Dragon. From the radiance of the power emanating from Muria, it seemed possible that he could be a Golden Dragon, even more formidable than a Red Dragon.

“No, not yet. I just walked along this road and have only seen a small area of the scenery. There are many more places I haven’t seen.” replied Muria. Regardless of whatever the knight planned, Muria could quell him with a flick of his wrist. Hence, he decided to wait and see what the Dragon Knight intended to do.

“Sir Mu, if you wish to tour my domain, I’ll gladly welcome you. However, you are unfamiliar with my territory. Why don’t we return to my castle, and I’ll arrange some guides for you?”

On hearing that Muria desired to tour his territory, a joy Bernard could hardly conceal spread across his face. He had managed this territory for ten years, always his pride. As far as he knew, no other nation could manage its lands as well as he did. On this, he had enough confidence.

“Sure.” Upon receiving the invitation, Muria uttered a single word with an indifferent expression. He neither liked nor disliked Bernard and was merely a bit curious.

“Sir Mu, please mount up.” On hearing Muria’s assent, Bernard, with glee, beckoned the Red Dragon – already bound by contract – for Muria to mount.

Muria examined the ferocious Red Dragon before him, then strode towards its back.

“Roar!” Seeing Muria intending to mount its back, the proud Red Dragon roared at Muria in protest.

“Behave!” Seeing the young, rebellious dragon roar at him, Muria slapped it without a second thought. The slap forced the dragon’s head back, breaking its scales into pieces.

Such a scene left Bernard, standing behind Muria, dumbstruck. Then, a wave of absolute elation surged within him as he saw his fierce mount barely flinched after being slapped by Muria. Instead, it coiled its neck and kept silent.
