Chapter 650 - 650 645 Life or Death Situation

Chapter 650: Chapter 645: Life or Death Situation Chapter 650: Chapter 645: Life or Death Situation “His Majesty, there is a group of humans claiming to be envoys from the Church of the Ice and Snow Goddess that has arrived at the City of the Frost Giants. They say they are here to meet you, following the decree of their gods!”

Suddenly receiving this message while drinking tea in Feiye Ti’s Cloud City, Muria was taken aback.

“What’s wrong, Muria?” A female descendant of the Blazing Sky Gods, who was well-acquainted with Muria, noticing his odd behavior, asked.

“There’s a small matter that I need to attend to, I apologize.” Muria, who had already procured what he wanted, gave a smile, “Let’s call it a day, Sister Feiye Ti, I must take my leave.”

“Not a problem, be about your business!”

“I shall return.” Muria lifted his teacup, drained it completely, and departed with a flash of light.

“This is the Xena Pus, as mentioned in the divine oracle.”

“But the Goddess didn’t mention there would be so many Frost Giants here. If I had known, I wouldn’t have come.”

“Heh, it seems you don’t have a choice.”

The human members of the envoy party sent by the Ice and Snow Goddess Oluo looked around uncomfortably. The face of the man leading the group was somewhat normal, but it was clear he was also not in high spirits.

No one could feel good when surrounded by creatures that were several times their number and at least ten meters tall. Particularly when those giants were looking at them in the same way one might look at food.

To the savage giants, humans were a source of food. Although, under the rule of Muria, the giants had ceased cannibalizing intelligent creatures like humans. Instead, they began consuming the meat of certain herbivorous animals cultivated exclusively in Xena Pus.

“Why are there so many giants? It’s unreasonable.” Among the envoys, a beautiful young woman, adorned in opulent attire, approached the leader of the envoy bunch, Trevor Brumas, and said with a hint of fear.

She initiated a conversation with Trevor primarily to address her own fear. She intended to alleviate her fear and vent her restrained emotions by talking.

“Exactly because it is unreasonable, we are here.” Envoy Trevor caressed the ring on his hand. He knew very well the astonishing secret it held within, something that could shatter the whole Church of the Ice and Snow Goddess in an instant.

But, even at the risk of the church falling apart, the Winter Goddess insisted on proceeding. Despite Trevor’s severe reservations, he was helpless against the Goddess’s resolve. His power came entirely from the gods; he had no room to object. His only options were obedience or death.

“Do you know why so many giants have gathered?” The young woman asked curiously.

“Because a much more powerful being has appeared, which is why these Frost Giants have assembled together,” Trevor Brumas answered in a low voice. “We are here to pay our respects to this entity.”

“Such a vast City of Giants, populated by over two hundred thousand Frost Giants. What kind of being could possibly command such a tremendous gathering of Frost Giants? How powerful would they be?”

The young woman’s face was filled with wonder as she thought about the adventure novels she had read about knights and wicked dragons.

“We will be meeting them soon. Don’t be nervous, we have been commanded by the Goddess to come, they won’t harm us.”

Trevor Brumas, who, in truth, had no certainty, comforted the woman beside him. Before coming here, he had been warned of the grave risks involved in this mission. He could die at any moment, as even the Goddess had lost one of her avatars here.

“Where are we supposed to pay our respects to this powerful entity?” The young woman looked up at the floating islands in the sky, her eyes filled with a strange longing, and her cheeks flushed enticingly.

“The place you’re looking at right now, we might be ascending that island. So, brace yourself!” Trevor Brumas, who had once deemed himself versed in great matters, looked up at the islands in the sky and sighed. He had never witnessed such a magnificent spectacle before. It was beyond his imagination.

“Can we really go up there? Wonderful.” The young woman, Rosanna, cheered up when she got the news.

“There’s nothing to be excited about. If it’s this dreadful down here, who knows what it’ll be like up there? Or what kind of terrifying creatures are lurking there? It could even be a legendary dragon.”

“There is no way a Red Dragon could be here,” Rosanna burst into laughter. “And didn’t Lord Trevor say? We are not in danger. What are you scared of?”

“Where did you get the idea we’re not in danger?” Another deputy envoy looked bemusedly at the silly and somewhat slow Rosanna.

He pointed out the Frost Giants surrounding them. Among them, a few were younger Frost Giants who seemed to stare at them. But even the youngest, standing approximately three meters tall, dwarfed them in size. It seemed as if those giants could crush them underfoot with a single step.

Well, this isn’t possible, but the parents of that young giant could surely crush most of them. If they were to anger the surrounding Frost Giants, their envoy party could be obliterated in less than a minute.

Roar! From above, a majestic roar echoed, causing the anxious and nervous envoy team waiting below to look up. They were all stunned, as a dragon with brilliant red scales flew out from the island in the sky. Three floating warships followed the dragon, flying in their direction.

“Look, it’s a Red Dragon!” Its prominent features and notorious reputation were known worldwide. Even those who’d never seen it could identify it at first sight.

“How can that be? Red Dragons should not exist on our subcontinent. Our environment is not suitable for this dragon race to live!”

“There’s nothing impossible about it since it’s already appeared here.”

“So, you are the envoys sent by the Winter Goddess?” Red Dragon Krest, who had once been a bandit for some time, looked down at the group of weak humans below. He couldn’t suppress the urge to see how they’d look squashed under one of his claws.

“Yes, Great Dragon. We are,” Trevor replied quickly, facing the unmasked malice of Red Dragon Krest. This place was terrifying; it stood true to the words of the Goddess – they could meet death at any moment!

“Huh, then board our ships quickly. The Lord of Xena Pus is waiting for you. Hurry up and don’t dawdle. Don’t waste my time.”
