Chapter 642 - 642 637 The Mages Quirk

Chapter 642: Chapter 637: The Mage’s Quirk Chapter 642: Chapter 637: The Mage’s Quirk “What are you planning to do with these legends?” Michaela asked, looking at the bundle of legendary beings chained up by Muria’s Star Cloud Chain, particularly the White Snake resembling a coiled serpent’s mountain. In her eyes was the color of anticipation. Muria had defeated this Legend Seventh Rank; she felt she could try as well.

“Just kill them all, their heads would make excellent décor, you can hang them on your castle.” Ivicester, in accordance with Muria’s ideas, made a suggestion.

“Are you really a divine descendant of the Blazing Sky God?” Muria asked, looking at Irvicester with a puzzled face, “Why are you so quick to fight and kill? Is this really okay?”

“They are all evil; why should I sympathize with them?” Ivicester countered, “To sympathize with evil is a kind of cruelty towards my companions. Enemies should be treated with utter ruthlessness.”

“Hmm, I agree. One should be as warm as spring to like-minded people, as passionate as summer in battle, as sweeping as autumn towards the selfish, and as merciless as winter towards enemies.” Muria rearranged a famous quote according to the situation, then voiced it out.

At these words, the Blazing Sky siblings couldn’t help but nod in agreement. Meanwhile, Muria’s clever subordinates also jotted notes in their hearts, believing this to be the basic quality all subjects should possess.

“So, you should kill them.”

“No, I promised, I won’t kill them.” Muria shook her head in refusal, “I have a better way to deal with them.”

“What could be better than killing them?”

“Of course, there is!” Muria gave a slight smile, her gaze resting on an old man slowly entering the Council Hall, “Master Mason.”

“Your majesty,” The aged mage looked around at everyone in the Council Hall, his gaze lingering momentarily on the Blazing Sky God descendants beside Muria, before moving to the legendary Frost Giants and Giant Beasts in the room. A flicker of surprise in his eyes, he then bowed mildly towards Muria.

The Blazing Sky God Descendant siblings reacted to this gaze. Crimson flames ignited on Irvicester’s white feathers, while the already burning wings of Michaela became even more intense.

“This is Grandmaster Mason! A widely knowledgeable researcher from Xena Pus!” Muria, in an ambiguous tone, introduced her fiancé and brother-in-law to him. At the same time, she grasped Michaela’s hand, signalling her to stay calm.

“What do you seek of me when you call me here?” Perhaps because of the presence of the Blazing Sky God race, this old man was very respectful to Muria and asked accordingly.

“What do you think of these creatures?”

“Are these your captives from the battle, Your Majesty?” Master Mason asked. Despite his dishevelled appearance, his demeanour had a hint of scholarly elegance. Muria had, however, been investigating this old man and had a preliminary understanding of him.

The mage who called himself Mason was indeed very learned and seemed to know almost everything. This was not to say that his knowledge had reached its limit, but rather, that the technology of Xena Pus had not yet reached it. Yet, for some reason, Muria found it hard to feel any respect for him because he liked to frequently visit the Cloud Island, where the Zor Elves resided, every month, and stay for three days each time.

According to the results of the investigation, Grandmaster Mason was well favored amongst the Zor Elves, who praised him as “wild” and “ferocious”. Muria had no comment on this matter as it was by mutual consent.

“Excellent, what are your thoughts?” With a smile, Muria asked, her expression unknowingly respectful towards Mason, although she seemed completely unaware of his unknown other side.

A powerful existence having some quirks is a very normal thing. Among the quirks of the strong, Grandmaster Mason’s was considered quite normal.

Muria knew that the bio-energy technology of Xena Pus was developed under the guidance of this mysterious old mage. The Energy Plundering Array that he originally created was not perfect as it could not plunder the energy within Legends. But after being optimized and upgraded by Mason, the Array could do so by forcibly extracting their energy.

“Do you want to seal them all as sources of energy?” The old mage asked.

“Of course.” Muria nodded.

“Are you not afraid that something might go awry someday, shattering the seals, unleashing these malicious entities, and having them turn against you? You might disregard them, but what about your subordinates? Have you ever thought about their safety?” Irvicester stepped forward and questioned.

“As long as I’m here, these sealed creatures will never break free,” Mason replied with a smirk. “I’ve supported this project, and I can assure you its safety.”

“What makes you so confident?” A spark of divine light gleamed in Irvicester’s eyes.

“Of course, it’s all thanks to my own strength,” said the untidy Grandmaster, sizing up the Eight-winged Blazing Sky God Descendant deeply. Nothing happened in Muria’s eyes. However, Irvicester saw differently. The messy old man in front of him had suddenly become a powerful being shrouded in the light of the seven-colour elements, an oppressive power that made him involuntarily step back.

“Big brother!” Michaela took a step forward, putting herself between her brother and the Grandmaster, unsheathing her sword as she moved.

“Enough, Master Mason.” Muria tapped the armrest of his throne, “Take these Legendary prisoners of war with you for now. Process them well, so they could provide plentiful energy for Xena Pus.”

“As you wish, Your Majesty.” Master Mason bowed slightly to Muria, then waved his hand, and along with the seven Legendary prisoners, vanished from the Council Hall.

“How does it feel?” Muria turned his gaze onto Irvicester. This time, seriousness lingered in his eyes. He knew his uncle was testing this mysterious Grandmaster for him. He understood Muria’s meaning in his words.

“Where did you find such a monster? He’s too strong, facing him felt like facing one of those elders at the Legendary Peak.” Irvicester expressed his lingering apprehensions. “His strength is at least on par with that worthy of being called a Divine Ascendant.”

The Divine Ascendant, possessing the power of the Legendary Peak, is qualified for divine ascendency, and is only a step away from deity-hood. They’re the strongest beings beneath the deities.

“You might not believe this, but Grandmaster Mason came to me, by the time I found him, he had been working for me for forty years,” Muria sighed.

“He worked for you for forty years before you found out about him?” Michaela asked in disbelief.

“Only after I broke through to the Legendary did I discover him, or more precisely, he allowed me to discover him,” Muria noted.

“Is that right?” Irvicester mused, “Just by his power, he doesn’t seem to be an evil entity. He should be a human mage, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t evil.”

“So far, he hasn’t done anything harmful to me or Xena Pus. He has always guided Xena Pus to become stronger, and for his contributions, I cannot turn a blind eye,” Muria replied.

“It’s impossible for him to serve you without a reason for forty years. He must have some request.”

“Could it be that he needed something from Epic Titan but had no way to do so? Thus, he’s leveraging on Muria’s favour to achieve his purpose?” Michaela conjectured.

“That’s possible,” Irvicester agreed.

“I’m not sure about that,” Muria replied helplessly, “With the title of a Divine Ascendant, he could go to Titan Islands directly. He wouldn’t need me.”

“Generally speaking, he doesn’t seem to have any ill-intent, well, at least not for now.”

“There is no other choice but to be more cautious in the future. Even if we combine our strengths, we might not be able to drive him away unless our elders take action.”

“There’s no need for that. For now, we just watch and see.” Muria shook his head.

In the time that followed, under Muria’s authority and with the assistance of Xena Pus, the Frost Giant City began to absorb the spoils of this war. Muria didn’t rush to expand, he only sent Frost Giants who had been indoctrinated to spread the word about the superior lifestyle of the Frost Giants in the Wasteland among the barbaric Frost Giants.

Since this war, the large Frost Giant tribes around the Frost Giant City no longer had the power to resist. Almost all legendary entities were wiped out in one fell swoop. Most of their elite Frost Giants were either dead or wounded, and a significant number had fallen into his captivity. The remaining ones were just elderly, weak, sick and disabled, and posed no threat at all.
