Chapter 34
Chapter 34
Eventually, they reached some room on the second floor. They turned on the light. It was empty inside. Bare, damp walls and a stone floor. In the middle stood a strange iron chair that seemed to have fused with the floor. It had straps for arms, legs, and head. Obviously for restraining a victim. Another spot for the mistress of the castle's perverse tortures.
– Sit down, – Sam coldly ordered.
– Wait, – Lina finally spoke. – First explain to me what the hell is going on!
– Nothing special, dear.
– How is this nothing special? Just look at him, – she pointed to the man who was already obediently sitting in the chair. – Is this nothing special to you?
– He is my mother's subjugated, – Samael replied, exhaling heavily. – She is dark, and an active sexual position is common for us. Olivia at least doesn’t force anyone to do anything against their will and doesn’t kill them. It’s all by consent. These men are sex slaves who willingly live here and occasionally enjoy her company. They also get a nice sum for it. They can live here for a year, and then, they don't have to worry about money for the rest of their lives.
– Why do you call them "subjugated"?
– The dark ones have such a term. Mortals who live with us and are in long-term relationships are called "subjugated." Because we usually exert our power and subjugate them.
– So am I also subjugated?
– You are not. Besides, you are immortal, dear. I hope the questions are exhausted?
– Yes, – Lina sighed and stepped into the corner of the room so as not to interfere with Samael's manipulations.
The man approached the subjugated, tied up his hands and legs, fastened the restraints as tightly as possible, and stepping back a meter, began his dark ritual.
The temperature in the room instantly dropped. The lamp flickered hysterically, and around Sam, a swirling black energy began to thicken. The girl had seen this before, so she knew it was better not to approach her beloved. Although there was a subconscious desire to press against him and feel his masculine strength, now she would have to fight her fear alone. Lina pressed herself against the wall, horrified, watching the metamorphosis of the subjugated.
The man, who a few seconds ago had relaxed and looked down, suddenly changed. Beads of sweat formed on his body. His wide-open piercing eyes now shone with insane cunning. His face also transformed: the cheekbones sharpened, saliva began to drip from his lips, dark circles settled under his eyes, and his veins swelled and darkened, standing out on his skin in a lacy pattern.
He was no longer a human. An unknown entity. It had a bloated stomach, thin legs like a puppet, and eyes that pierced through everything.
– Hello, – Samael greeted calmly. – I need information.
The creature’s gaze flashed with rage, and yellowish foam began to drip from the corners of its mouth. The entity squirmed in place, and then its lips twisted into a mocking grin:
– Well, well, – the subjugated croaked maliciously.
Lina felt a wave of ants from that timbre: the low bass that steals all the joy that simmers in the soul.
– You have been excommunicated, Samael. Now you are outside the law. Cursed, humiliated, cast off!
– It's none of your business, demon. A worthless servant created to obey me! – the dark one flared up with rage.
– You won’t make me submit, – thrill gleamed in the creature’s eyes.
It began to tremble, as if in a fit of fever. Its body thrashed like a bird caught in a net. The joints twisted unnaturally, trying to slip out of the straps. Yet, the chair held the load, firmly rooted in the floor.
– I need information! – Samael said, not breaking his fierce gaze from the demon.
– No, – the voice responded in a bass tone.
The same jackal-like grin remained on its face. Lina tried to turn her gaze away from the horrific spectacle, but she couldn’t. She seemed glued to the unfolding scene before her.
– Who from Abaddon might know something about the final prophecy from the book "Light and Darkness"?
– You want to talk?
– I want to know what I asked, – the man ground out through clenched teeth.
It was clear he was losing self-control, as he wasn't used to hearing refusal, especially in such a disgusting manner.
– I would love to talk to you, but it's a bit uncomfortable to have a conversation with hands and feet shackled to the chair. It’s rude of you to summon me and then lock me in such uncomfortable conditions. First, loosen the restraints, and then we might have some dialogue.
– You’ve become quite brazen, demon, – Samael concluded.
– If you continue to be such a blockhead, you won't learn anything. Right now, I am needed by you, not you by me.
– Speak immediately!
– No.
– Then I will destroy you.
– Just try, – the creature spat with hatred and disdain, and smirked, continuing in an ominous voice. – You know that you will destroy this lovely skin and not me. And I will find another. For instance, that little one huddled in the corner. Such a sweet and delicate shell...
– She’s not to your taste, – the dark one barked.
– Clearly, the dialogue has hit a dead end. If you want information from me, offer something in return. Barter. You give me, I give you. It’s all fair.
The creature stuck out its tongue and began to lick its chin.
– You don't know what honesty is, fool!
– Then you will get nothing, – a small fire danced in the mocking eyes.
Samael fell silent. His back was tense, and his fists clenched. The brilliant plan was falling apart, information slipping through his fingers, and he didn’t know what to do about it.
– What do you need? – he asked coldly.
– One tiny little thing, – thin blue fingers began to tap a rhythmic melody on the arm of the chair.
– What?
– Freedom.
– No! – Sam immediately growled. – Out of the question. There were times when you roamed freely across the earth, and look at the consequences?
– We had fun, – it giggled.
– And humanity, which perished due to the great flood – did not. So my answer is clear and categorical.
– What do you care about humanity? You have a pink piglet that you amuse yourself with every day! We want to have fun too, – the creature pouted its lip, like a sulking child.
Lina closed her eyes. She felt a horrific stench around her, as if there was a pile of dung standing a meter away. The conversation she heard was disgusting. The demon sitting in the subjugated was a lowly and despicable creature that could only harm and mock. And although she desperately wanted to cover her ears, the conversation continued.
– Alright, I give up. How about some tiny bit of skin? – the voice wheedled. – Pink, plump? You’ll give it to me for a few days so I can enjoy?
– Finish your thought, demon. I’m sure you’ve already chosen your target.
– Yes, I’ve been watching her parents, – the body roared and jerked forward. Its face twisted with desire and greed radiated by the creature. – A priest and a teacher of Christian ethics. A perfect, exemplary family. Their little skin is ten years old. She always wears bows and eats diet cookies. Oh, how I long to feel her suffering. To see her mother’s tears, her father’s terror and despair.
The dark one didn’t hesitate for a moment.
– Alright. It’s a deal. You’ll get her as soon as you tell me everything about the prophecy.
The demon triumphed, drool spilling even more than before, its eyes like a fox, greedy and cunning.
– The prophet who wrote the book "Light and Darkness" is sitting in the last circle, under the watchful eye of your father's servants. Only he knows everything about the prophecies. But you will never get there, – it roared with laughter. – Never get there! Never!
The demon howled, and this scream echoed into every corner of the room, causing the doors to tremble. Its eyes rolled back, and its body convulsed. Samael had gotten what he needed, and the darkness began to leave the subjugated’s body, returning to its master.
After a few minutes, everything stopped: the cold and stench disappeared, replaced by a distant frantic scream from Olivia:
– No! Don’t you dare!!! No!!!!
Lina and the dark one jumped from their seats and, as if scalded, ran towards the sound. They clearly understood that it was a plea for help and not a playful cry of an excited female.
They rushed through the corridors, so by the time they reached the hall, Sam abruptly opened the door and froze at the sight that unfolded before them.
Olivia was kneeling, and her throat was being squeezed by Samael’s father.
– What son, did you think I wouldn’t find you?
