Kill Me, My Love

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

A man stood by a car, leaning casually against it and smoking a cigarette. His long dark hair danced in the wind, a light stubble suited him, and his black shirt and jeans clung to his muscular body. A cunning smile played on his lips, and his eyes resembled two dark abysses. Black and almost devoid of whites.

The girl was stunned, breath caught in her throat. She examined her guide, and at one moment, their gazes met.

Infernal flames raged in the man's eyes, along with desire. Open, shameless desire directed at her. Lina hypnotically drowned in this directness. And she had no strength to look away.

- Samael, - he finally said.

His voice was deep and somehow sarcastic.

- You can call me just Sam.

- Lina, - she replied softly, noticing that there was someone else sitting in the car.

- That's Nathan, - Sam tracked her gaze. - The guide from the light side. Nat, be a good boy and introduce yourself to our victim.

The man in the car answered Sam quietly and, opening the door, stepped outside.

- Nathaniel, - he said.

Nathaniel’s appearance was radically different from his friend’s. His white hair was of medium length, blue eyes radiated icy coldness, a straight nose and high cheekbones lent an uncompromising touch to his face. He was dressed in all light colors. Well, nothing unusual. A typical "light," almost exactly like those in the pictures from textbooks.

- Get in, - Nathan said, gesturing towards the car, - the road is long.

Lina nodded and headed for the front seat.

The light one gallantly opened the door, and the girl got in.

Sam flicked a cigarette butt onto the mowed lawn and looked disdainfully at the abbess, who had been standing in the door, observing the scene in front of the estate the whole time.

- Remind me whose idea this stupid Order was, - he said as he got into the driver's seat.

- If I'm not mistaken, it was your father and mine, - Nathan replied, shutting the door behind him.

- No wonder they are all so sick, - Sam spat, twisting the key and starting the engine.

The car immediately moved smoothly, leaving the estate's territory. Having exited through the gates, Lina, like enchanted, pressed her face against the window. The beauty outside was incredible. Everything was lush: tall, arrow-like firs, wide bushes, grass. The tree trunks were covered with moss, which hung like a shroud from the branches, and ferns grew on the ground. The entire world was dominated by shades of green.

- Haven't you ever seen a forest? - Sam asked with one eye on the road and the other studying the girl.

- No, - she shook her head in denial.

- They didn’t let you out at all?

- It was too dangerous, - Lina replied rehearsed.

- Sick idiots, - Sam got angry for real.

- Samael, what did you want, for them to take her to Disneyland to show her the world? If you don't know what you're losing, it's easier to lose it, - Nathan coldly commented.

- I understand, but they could have let her outside!

- It's fine, - the girl interrupted their quarrel. - I'm not complaining. The Order was... good to me. They raised me as best they could, considering what I am.

At that, the conversation ended.

The Order's estate lay on a private peninsula, so there wasn't a single living soul around. Only a winding road and wild nature.

Silence pressed down on everyone in the car, so Sam turned on the music and rolled down the window, enjoying the streams of fresh air. Nathan immediately immersed himself in his shiny smartphone, while Lina wandered in her thoughts.

Where were they taking her? Would she see big cities and other people? Would she get to taste something colorful? Would she encounter rain? Would she swim in a lake? She wanted to try so many things before she had to fulfill her mission. So the girl firmly decided to try to sleep as little as possible. What a waste it would be to spend the last days of her life sleeping away!

- You need to change, - suddenly said Samael. - People will look at you like you’re crazy.

He leaned back to the back seat and grabbed a glossy blue bag from there.

- Here, I bought something along the way. I didn't know your size, so I picked a few options.

Lina took the bundle and pulled out a red top with thin straps and blue jeans.

- Isn't this too revealing? - she asked uncertainly.

- The most decent of what I could find, - the man smiled. - Don’t be shy, change.

- Samael, have a heart, - Nathan interjected. - She's not traveling with us for sexual pleasures.

- Why not take advantage of the moment, - Sam winked slyly in the rearview mirror. - As they say, kill two birds with one stone. Lina, wouldn't you want to know a real man before you die? I bet all they have in that estate are eunuchs or impotents.

- Samael! - the light one exclaimed indignantly.

- Can't even joke anymore, - the man grinned dazzlingly and suddenly hit the brakes. - We’ll soon enter the first city, so to avoid attracting too much attention, it’s better to change now.
