Chapter 1639 - 1126: Clans of the King
Chapter 1639 - 1126: Clans of the King
In Pan-Human History, Albion naturally exists as well.
After all, it is the oldest pure-blood dragon breed, with a long history of 4.6 billion years since its birth. The divergence between Pan-Human History and Britain’s Lostbelt mainly arises from whether the six fairies fulfilled their duties 14,000 years ago, forging the Holy Sword capable of repelling asteroids.
If they did, that is Pan-Human History.
If they did not, that is the history of Britain’s Lostbelt.
And at that time, Albion was still alive.
Therefore, whether in Pan-Human History or Britain’s Lostbelt, Albion exists.
However, in both histories, the ultimate fate of this oldest pure-blood dragon breed is the same.
In Pan-Human History, as myth fades and the era of gods declines, the gods who originally thrived on the earth retreated to the world’s inner side, to the Inner Sea of the Star, no longer appearing on the surface unsuitable for their survival.
Albion should have been among them, but it lingered on earth out of attachment, unwilling to depart even as the era of gods had completely waned and the ground was no longer suitable for its survival. By the time it wanted to return to the Inner Sea of the Star, it was too late.
Thus, Albion eventually fell on its way to the Inner Sea of the Star, buried deep underground, becoming one of the oldest mysteries in the magical world.
In Britain’s Lostbelt, when celestial troopers rampage across the earth, causing the land to completely vanish into the boundless Sea of Nothingness, beings like the Beast God Cornus also retreated to the Inner Sea of the Star, heading to paradise to avoid this civilization-destroying calamity. Yet, Albion still lingered.
The result was that on the endless Sea of Nothingness, without even a foothold, Albion continued flying endlessly until exhaustion, and only then did it fall into the sea.
Its remains, like those of deceased fairies, transformed into land, even forming into the lakes and forests.
Upon this forest, northern fairies were born.
Thousands of years later, Britain expanded, carrying original sin and cursing, initiating contact between two fairy clans that survived thanks to the generous legacy left by great existences.
Regrettably, this was not a good thing.
"Opposite the northern fairies, the six fairy clans surviving in what was then Britain are called the southern fairies."
"The northern and southern fairies discovered each other’s existence across the coast, erupting into fierce conflict before the two lands even connected."
"Thus, the first war that swept across all of Britain began."
Britain’s history is filled with massacre and strife.
The relationships between clans were already bad, like between the Tusk Clan and the Wing Clan, the Wind Clan and the Earth Clan, complete blood feuds.
To this day, the Wind Clan and Earth Clan still see each other unfavorably, constantly conflicting, and the Tusk Clan even launched an extermination war against the Wing Clan, resulting in a situation where, in present-day Britain, the only true members of the Wing Clan are its current clan leader Mourine and Habettelot, once a follower of Ashen the savior.
At least, as far as Reiger knows, there are only these two fairies of the Wing Clan.
Yet, even amidst such perpetual strife in Britain, apart from the "calamity" bringing enormous disasters, there are four wars that could impact the entire history of Britain, recorded.
These four wars are named after spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
"In the fairy calendar year 6000, equating to 8000 years ago, Britain’s initial war broke out."
"This was a survival war between the southern and northern fairies, now referred to as the Spring War."
"This war ended with a comprehensive victory for the southern fairies, while the northern fairies were cruelly massacred."
"It is said it was a brutal slaughter where even newborns would be immediately killed. The remains of the northern fairies piled up into mountains, ultimately transforming into deadwood, filling the sea areas among the lakes. Only the northern fairy clan leader at that time, a powerful Fairy Queen incomparable even to the clan leaders of the six fairy clans, escaped, left the lakes, and wandered alone in the Sea of Nothingness."
"The queen’s name was Mab, who after the Spring War created an island alone. That island later became the last hope for exiled fairies from Britain to go to, called the West Island."
Habettelot continued to swing her little feet leisurely, recounting another cruel Chapter of Britain’s history with a nonchalant expression.
"After about a millennium, the two lands officially connected, the Lake District Forest became Britain’s north, while the original Britain became Britain’s south. The Rain Clan and Mirror Clan among the six fairy clans began migrating and settling in the north."
Since then, the Rain Clan established Orkney at the northernmost end, while the Rain Clan resided within the lake district.
Reiger had already known this history.
But now, hearing Habettelot recount this history, Reiger suddenly had a thought.
"Could it be that because these two clans left original Britain and moved to Albion’s remains, they gradually awakened?"
All the six fairy clans are fairies bearing original sin, not repenting even to this day, still carrying extremely strong malice.
