Chapter 575 - 573: Uncle Gu Who Doesn’t Like Looking in the Mirror

Gu Li knocked on the door, her voice unusually abrupt in the silent study.

"Time to eat."

The next day, Gu Li got up early, mindful that she was to accompany Gu Chen for a medical check-up today.

The hospital was crowded every day, and with Li Yan absent, Gu Chen had no choice but to queue even if he was reluctant.

When it was finally their turn, Gu Li was even more nervous than he was, persistently asking the doctor, "How is he? Is there any serious problem?"

The doctor was rendered speechless by her questions and helplessly said, "Sister, I haven’t examined your brother yet. I can’t answer any of your questions."

Gu Li, embarrassed by the doctor’s response, hid behind Gu Chen and stopped talking.

However, she noticed that Gu Chen did not seem very upset after the doctor misunderstood their relationship. She thought, "Uncle is from a different generation, but brother is from the same generation. He probably finds this relationship more acceptable, right?"

The doctor sent Gu Chen to do two tests. With not many people in line for these tests, Gu Li simply decided to wait for him in the doctor’s office.

"Really?" Gu Li looked at him, astonished and pleased.

That smile nearly dazzled Gu Li’s eyes.

She knew the first time she saw Gu Chen that this man had a warm smile, warmer than the spring sun by several degrees, yet he seldom smiled, always carrying a serene demeanor.

It had been years since she last saw him smile, and this sudden glimpse made Gu Li find it hard to look away.

"Do I look good?"

"Yes, good-looking."

The smile at the corner of Gu Chen’s mouth grew bigger as he ruffled her hair and led her away.

Coming back to her senses, Gu Li felt overwhelmed. She realized that her uncle, who didn’t like to look in mirrors, would one day smile and ask her if he looked good!

For her, today was a thrilling day, but also a happy one, at least Gu Chen’s stomach was still alright, wasn’t it?
