The next day, like usual, Lu Jinyang went to work early.

As Xiao Qing sent him off, she felt a pang in her heart seeing the tiredness between his brows.

Last night, when she asked him about how to deal with Leng Wanxi’s matter, he said he already had a plan and would be able to settle it in the next few days. She knew he didn’t want to elaborate, so she didn’t press on.

In the middle of the night, she woke up and noticed Lu Jinyang was not in the room. She immediately got up to look for him and upon opening the bedroom door she saw him working in the living room, fingers flying rapidly over the keyboard, deep in some task.

She didn’t disturb him, and instead lay in bed waiting for him to return.

Unexpectedly, he only came back to the room when dawn was breaking and lay down for about half an hour before getting up again.

"Lu Jinyang," Xiao Qing called out to him, and when he turned around, she said, "Rest more when you have time, your health is the most important."

"Okay."

Not long after Lu Jinyang left, Qin Huaixin arrived with Leng Shuangshuang.

Xiao Qing looked at her with surprise, noticing the many bags in her hands, "Did you carry all these here yourself?"

"Of course," Qin Huaixin gave her a look, "Impressive, right?"

Xiao Qing nodded; it was more than impressive. Even Leng Shuangshuang was holding two bags, so she quickly took them, praising as they entered, "Shuang’er, you’re amazing!"

"Thank you, Auntie."

"Shuang’er, go to the room and play with your brother and sister, they’re in that room," Xiao Qing led Leng Shuangshuang to the bedroom door, knocked, and the door was opened by the eldest treasure.

The eldest treasure was momentarily surprised to see Leng Shuangshuang but quickly recovered to calm and stepped inside. He said something to little treasure, then little treasure rushed out at her sprinting speed, half dragging Leng Shuangshuang into the room.

"Yeah, Leng Yixing said he was coming over to pick up Mr. Lu, so I had him bring me along, and we went to the market early in the morning."

Xiao Qing gave Qin Huaixin a thumbs-up, which Qin Huaixin playfully brushed away.

"Got any water?"

"Yes, just a moment, I’ll pour you a glass."

Qin Huaixin sat down on the living room couch and glanced around, confirming that the decoration here was indeed styled according to Xiao Qing’s taste, because Zhuang Shuqing used to like this style too.

Soon, Xiao Qing came out with a glass of water and placed it in front of Qin Huaixin.

Qin Huaixin teased, "Qingqing, you’re still as thoughtful as before, knowing I like to drink warm water."
