Commissar Yarrick stepped onto the highest point of the trench, standing exactly where every attacking Greenskin could see him.
That glaring laser bionic eye slowly swept across the green tide before him.
"Watch out for dat eye! It kills whoever he glares at! It shoots world-krumpin’ lazers dat can even punch through a Gargant! It’s a right terrifying weapon!" the Ork Boyz exclaimed in alarm, scrambling over themselves.
Wherever Yarrick’s gaze landed, the Greenskins instinctively hit the deck, rolling and tumbling out of the way in sheer panic.
"Leave ’im to me!" A Gargant, piloted by a Big Mek and several Mekboyz, lumbered heavily toward Yarrick, threatening to crush him under its treads.
"If I can krump him, I’ll be da biggest and baddest on dis whole zoggin’ planet!" the Big Mek inside the Gargant shouted excitedly, shoving the control levers to the absolute maximum.
Yarrick watched the approaching mechanical monstrosity and slowly raised his massive Power Klaw.
"Never retreat. Never fear. Never surrender," Yarrick declared, his voice ringing with resounding force. "This city belongs to us. This world belongs to us. Warriors of Armageddon, prepare for battle!"
The Imperial soldiers raised their weapons and roared in unison. Echoing Yarrick’s battle cry, they threw themselves back into the meat grinder against the Greenskins.
Explosions and thick smoke swallowed Yarrick’s figure. When the smoke finally cleared, he had already vanished safely behind the iron-wall defense formed by the Imperial Guardsmen.
The Big Mek froze in his pilot seat. Even through the billowing smoke and deafening artillery, he could still hear Yarrick’s mocking laughter.
"So dat’s how it is." The Big Mek helplessly bared his teeth, chuckling with a bit of self-deprecation. "Ain’t even qualified to be his scrapper? He really is da legendary Ol’ Bale Eye."
"But I ain’t givin’ up just like dat! Boyz, yer chance is here!"
Following the Big Mek’s howl, the Ork Boyz emitted an unprecedented WAAAGH! field.
It was so overwhelmingly powerful that even Yarrick felt as though his aging body had suddenly returned to its physical prime. The red glare from his modified bionic eye intensified, radiating a genuinely lethal aura.
Yarrick touched his laser eye, a sense of absurdity welling up in his chest. In truth, he actually had to thank these Orks.
Logically speaking, with his elderly, baseline human physique, it should have been utterly impossible to wield such a massive, heavy mechanical arm. And that laser bionic eye—from a purely technological standpoint—was just a standard, run-of-the-mill prosthetic. It didn’t possess any miraculous, instant-death-on-glare properties whatsoever.
It was the psychic field generated by these Greenskins—known as the WAAAGH! field—that made all of these impossible feats a reality.
The WAAAGH! field was a psychic aura produced collectively by the Greenskin race. This field could physically empower the Orks, making them vastly stronger, and it operated on a bizarre, reality-bending logic deeply rooted in their "I fink, therefore it is" mentality.
When the Boyz believed their Boss was incredibly badass, their Boss would literally become incredibly badass.
Under normal circumstances, the beneficiaries of the WAAAGH! field were the Greenskins’ own Warlords and Nobs. But as it happened, the entire Greenskin race firmly believed that Yarrick
was exceptionally badass.
And so, Yarrick truly became exceptionally badass.
This story traced back to the early days of the Armageddon Wars.
At that time, Ghazghkull Thraka’s most ferocious Warboss, Ugulhard, had led his elite Ork vanguard to annihilate all the defensive strongholds on the outskirts of Hades Hive. The Warboss was celebrating his unstoppable conquest atop the ruins, surrounded by countless Ork Boyz and Mekboyz witnessing his glory.
Right at that moment, Commissar Yarrick arrived with his troops.
Atop the ash-choked ruins, beneath the gaze of countless Greenskins, it was dust to dust, one-on-one. Yarrick and Ugulhard engaged in a brutal, bloody duel to the death.
In the end, at the cost of one eye and one arm, Yarrick slaughtered Ugulhard with his own hands.
This single act completely shattered the morale of the remaining Ork Boyz. From then on, the terrifying legend of "Ol’ Bale Eye" spread to every corner of Greenskindom. Afterward, Yarrick received medical treatment. His severed arm was replaced with the very Power Klaw torn from Ugulhard’s corpse, and his ruined eye socket was fitted with a glaring laser bionic.
And that story, through word-of-mouth among the Greenskins, grew more outrageous and mythological with every telling.
It was somewhat darkly comical, but the WAAAGH! field was not omnipotent; the extent to which it could empower Yarrick was ultimately limited. Yarrick didn’t actually plan to throw himself directly into the fray. The Greenskins were endless and could never be completely slaughtered. His presence here was primarily to inspect the battlelines and boost morale.
And most importantly, to wait for reinforcements.
He was not fighting this war alone. Imperial reinforcements were already on the way and would arrive very soon. And the figures leading these reinforcements were absolutely extraordinary.
Truth be told, when Yarrick established the vox-connection with Guilliman, even he experienced a moment of surreal disbelief. That was the legendary demigod, a Primarch in the flesh! Based on Yarrick’s previous limits, being able to contact the Logistics Minister overseeing the sector’s shipping lanes would have been the absolute ceiling of his connections.
So when the Lord Regent said he would dispatch a Primarch to reinforce him... Yarrick felt almost overwhelmed by the honor. At the same time, he knew the opportunity to finally end the Wars of Armageddon had arrived.
To date, Armageddon had endured three devastating wars against the beast. The Greenskin spores had completely infested the land. Even if temporarily purged, they would inevitably make a resurgence under the leadership of Ghazghkull Thraka.
What this world needed was not just a victory, but a definitive, permanent end.
Yarrick subconsciously straightened his posture, quietly awaiting the arrival of the promised reinforcements.

Caliban finally concluded its long Warp voyage, forcefully tearing its way into the Armageddon system.
Under Lion El’Jonson’s command, Caliban halted its advance, suspending itself in the vast expanse of space. Due to Caliban’s massive planetary volume, it was unsuitable to approach Armageddon too closely, lest its gravitational pull wreak havoc on the planet.
Through the viewing screens, everyone looked down upon the world dotted with Imperial heavy industry facilities.
At this moment, Armageddon’s thick, highly toxic yellow atmosphere had already been brutally torn open by some savage force. The three main hive clusters had all fallen into Greenskin hands, and the very geology of those areas had undergone drastic, unnatural changes due to Ork activity.
The Lion’s Dark Angels squads had already begun entering their Drop Pods, forming up and standing by.
Dante, along with his Blood Angels, was also fully equipped and ready for battle. He had recently been stationed on Caliban following Sanguinius’s orders, and had coincidentally arrived right in time for this relief effort. Furthermore, he and Yarrick were old acquaintances, having fought shoulder-to-shoulder during the Second War for Armageddon. With these twin reasons, he chose to join the expedition without hesitation.
The Lion glanced around and realized that Zeke had quietly disappeared at some point without even a word of greeting.
"Leave him be."
The Lion ordered the Drop Pods to be launched toward Armageddon. The earth trembled.
A colossal mech plummeted from the sky, slamming into the battlefield. Its silhouette could vaguely be identified as the original machine known as the Ender Dragon Titan, but only vaguely—because Vashtorr had modified it to a point where it was practically unrecognizable.
