In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]

Chapter 232: Protagonist (2)

Chapter 232: Protagonist (2)

After a few moments, he quickly calmed down. Rise’s expression quickly returned to normal. He gripped his phone before he put it in the pocket of his coat again.

He took a deep breath; his eyes flashed in determination.

Rise knew that Epsilon would arrive at some point; it could be a few years from now as the official plot becomes on track. However, it came as no surprise that he showed up now.

It could only mean that his efforts to ruin the plot succeeded somewhat. Rise only did not know which of their actions got on the author’s nerves.

They directly sent Espsilon earlier than planned.

Rise needs to be planned accordingly to this news. He was also glad that he set up his information network and expanded it like crazy to distract himself from going to Kamille in those few weeks.

Somehow, it was a blessing in disguise.

After pocketing his phone, he turned and returned to his father and Riri.

"Did something happen?" His father asked, concerned.

"You can say that." He smiled to indicate that it was not a big deal and he did not need any help from him yet. Rise would have to tread cautiously with Epsilon.

That man was no ordinary character; unless he tested what kind of favor he had in this world, Rise would not risk his father getting involved this early.

Niftan understood and nodded.

"Tell me if you need my help."

Unlike before, Rise would not actively refuse his help.

"Of course, Dad."

Niftan’s lips curled into a wide grin at that. It had been a while since Rise started calling him "Dad," but it still never failed to make him smile.

Rise did not tease him about it this time. He took Riri from Niftan’s arms and carry him.

"We’ll go now. Say goodbye to Grandpa, Riri." He turned to Riri, who actively called Niftan Grandpa.

"Goodbye, Grandpa. We’ll return safely." He pronounces his words slowly, sounding so clear.

Niftan could not help but land a kiss on his cheek again, making the child giggle from being ticklish.

Rise waved at them and took Riri’s small bag with him. Why not put Riri’s essentials in his space storage? That did not feel personal at all.

After all, he was a parent now.

Rise carried Riri all the way downstairs. He put on shades and a cap as he trailed the area where the guilds were located. Obviously, it was because he was so famous and a lot could recognize him.

He finally felt like they were having an affair; what’s more, they had a son together. This kind of thinking overshadowed the news of Epsilon’s arrival, or more like it helped him a lot.

Just like him, Riri also has small shades in his eyes. In case someone still recognized him and took a picture of him with Riri.

He went to a few routes before entering the elevator again.

This was such a pain in the ass. He missed when he could just barge in wherever and whenever. But if it helped their plan, he could accept this little inconvenience.

Fortunately, Rise did not meet anyone he knew all the way to the floor Kamille was on. His footsteps increased when he arrived. There was no helping it. He had a lot of acquaintances on that floor where the big guilds were located.

If he were slow enough, he might have stumbled upon one such annoying acquaintance. Just as he passed and ran towards Kamille’s room, a man followed his figure.

His expression frowned slightly.

"Is that Rise?" he mumbled.

It was Mitchel.

That was not important at this time as Rise entered the room without obstacles. Once he stepped inside, he put Riri on the floor.

Rise sighed in relief once they were already inside the room. Being sneaky like that was truly not his thing; it exhausted him more than he thought.

If he recalled it right, Khal did not bring any to the capital this time. So, it meant... He was alone here.

Rise licked his lips, but his eyes landed on Riri.

No, our son was here. Rise shook his head.

Holding Riri’s hand, they went further inside.

"Guild Leader?" Rise called. His eyes swept around the living room. Was he not here? Or still sleeping?

Pulling Riri with him, they went to the bedroom.

Kamille was not there.

Rise frowned slightly. He turned to the door again. Could it be...

No, it was impossible. That Epsilon was far away from the capital. He did not have the ability to teleport... or was he? Just as these thoughts began to mess with his mind, the door opened.

Kamille’s figure appeared. And Rise did not even look at what he brought or ask why he was not in the room. He walked to Kamille and looked up at him.

"What’s wrong?" Kamille’s expression turned serious, seeing Rise’s reaction. "Did something happen?"

Rise did not answer and only buried his face in the other’s chest. His hand that was not holding Riri wrapped around the other’s waist, gripping his shirt.

He took a deep breath and smelled the familiar scent.

Right... There was no way. Rise calmed himself.

Rise might have belittled Epsilon’s arrival on the surface, but deep down, he was so afraid. He dreaded this moment, the uncertainty of everything.

What-ifs run through his mind, no matter how he suppressed them. Kamille was his... for now. But what happened after they met?

"Rise," Kamille withdrew slowly, and Rise let him put a small space between them. He looked at his eyes and asked again. "Tell me, why do you look so scared?"

Kamille might be the only one who could discern Rise’s real emotions.

Riri was also anxiously watching them. Too bad for him, his parents almost forgot about him. Or not really, as Rise was holding his hand tightly, afraid that Riri would also disappear.

Rise swallowed, feeling something stuck in his throat. Yet he forced a voice to come out. Showing his rare vulnerability to Kamille and Riri.

"Epsilon... He’s here."

Rise admitted it long ago. Epsilon was the beginning of his nightmare, the root of his insecurity.
