In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]

Chapter 227: Return Again (1)

Chapter 227: Return Again (1)

"H-Hey, what’s going on?"

"Is this the end of the world?"

"Shit. Are the rings still not functioning?"

"We’re doomed, Guild Leader!"

They did not want to be stuck in this world at all!

The Guild Leader in question was still gazing outside, which was pitch black. Her luxurious hair was neatly tied at her back, her arms crossed at her chest.

Unlike her guildmates, there was no trace of panic on her face. Instead, there was a kind of anticipation that slowly crept into her whole being.

She also had no clue why she was feeling this way. It was as though what was happening should be closely related to her or at least to someone she was fond of.

The phenomenon she was seeing was witnessed by every esper that arrived in this world. Unlike the natives of this world, time had not frozen for them. However, they could not see anything either, and they could only stay where they were as though the whole world had put a restriction on them.

In reality, it was truly the case. Outsiders were being rejected by the world, and soon they would be teleported back to their world once Kamille had closed the passage connecting both worlds.

For some reason, she had thought of Rise. The woman, Thalia, looked up at the sky. She could not see anything, but he assumed it was there.

Her hand subconsciously went above her chest; her heart was beating so hard.

Something... happened to him. It should not be bad. Thalia’s lips curled into a smile. She could vaguely sense something, but was not certain of anything at the same time.

"Guild Leader?" Her Vice Guild Leader called once more.

Thalia averted her gaze at the sky and turned to the side.

"Don’t worry. It’ll work soon."

"How did you know, Guild Leader?"

Thalia smiled beautifully. She did not know either, but that did not stop her from acting like she knew everything.

"I just know." Her whole body radiated such confidence.

In fact, if not for the vice guild leader knowing Thalia’s obsession with Rise, then she might fully believe this image of Thalia. Too bad she witnessed Thalia’s fangirling side a lot of times.

For the most part, Thalia was still quite dependable. The other members calmed down. Their guild leader was calm, so why would they panic?

Soon, the phenomenon became so intense that they started to get uneasy; they kept looking at their rings.

"I-It cracked!"

Before another new round of panic emotions spread because of their rings cracking. Their bodies began to be pulled to somewhere; their senses quickly left them as the familiar sensation consumed them.

It was like entering or exiting a gate. While confused and anxious in their hearts, the espers did not fight this feeling and let it pull them somewhere.

When their senses finally returned, they were greeted by a crowd of espers. The Evergreen guild was no exception; everyone seemed to have been teleported over.

Thalia let out a sigh. She looked around, the confusion and also the relief that washed over everyone’s faces after they returned. The idea of being stuck in an unfamiliar and far-destroyed world was so terrifying to them.

Her gaze wandered around, as though she was searching for someone. Thalia’s gaze paused, landing on the person she wanted to see.

His silver hair was as flashy as ever. His expression was composed as he stood out among the other espers. Thalia frowned slightly, thinking something was amiss.

Rise should be someone... But why did Thalia think that was the case?

Her gaze then landed on someone across the room, not far from where Rise was. His figure was more intimidating than the last time she saw him.

Thalia could not figure out the difference for now, and she focused on his expression. Kamille was leaning against the wall, his eyes closed as he crossed his arms over his chest.

No one approached him, choosing to stand far away from him.

Kamille was already famous for being unapproachable, but not to this extent. If it were any other day, Thalia might have already gone closer to him, but for some reason, something within her resisted this idea.

Her gaze shifted back to Rise. Similar to Kamille, no one tried to get closer to Rise for obvious reasons. His reputation was as resounding as it had ever been.

Thalia stepped forward but paused.

Maybe... next time. Thalia had the hunch that Rise did not want anyone to talk at this moment.

And he was right.

Rise was in a bad mood because he was forced to separate from Kamille. Well, it was his idea, but still...

He was used to clinging to Kamille by now and to think the other was present in the crowd, but he could not touch him; it was way worse than not seeing him for weeks.

Rise chewed his lips. He made sure not to look over at Kamille’s position, or he might not control himself and drop their plan.

Since Rise was not supposed to be part of the plot, not being entangled with Kamille on the surface was necessary. The crowd should never associate them together for it to be successful.

So, for now, they had to stop interacting closely in public.

Ah, seriously. Rise brushed his silver hair to the back, exposing his forehead. He seemed to have heard some gasps from the crowd, but he did not bother to look.

He wanted to leave immediately, but maybe he could listen to the reactions of their ploy here. To make it more believable, when they teleported all the espers back and closed the passage between the two worlds, both of them should also return.

After all, they were also present, and everyone saw them enter the gate. None would believe they died inside at all, as espers had yet to truly make a noise inside before Kamille and Rise took action and created chaos everywhere.

While Kamille and Rise entered together, none believed they would cooperate until the end. Rise was a known loner and hard to deal with; Kamille should also be the same.

In everyone’s eyes, they were truly incompatible and had not interacted before.
