In the Name of Empress

Chapter 645 - 369: You Are My Journey of Ten Thousand Miles (Part 2)

Chapter 645 - 369: You Are My Journey of Ten Thousand Miles (Part 2)

Obviously, she had known Roland first, but was overtaken by Sif. Considering the differences between them, she endured it. Who would have thought Alina would cut in fiercely as well? It’s impossible for her not to feel resentful.

But she knew Roland was very busy, dealing with the terrifying woman Sofia, so she couldn’t bear to criticize him and add more pressure.

Foolish women often like to pressure their loved ones to gain attention, but she wouldn’t do that.

Yet, she still hoped to gain unique romantic memories.

And here it came.

She didn’t bother pretending to be reserved anymore. After all, she and Roland were too familiar for pretense, so she straightforwardly admitted it.

Roland smiled as he held Lisa’s hand, feeling her warmth.

The familiar feeling, the familiar scent; although she was no longer an ugly duckling, the familiar sensation hadn’t changed.

Being with Lisa was the least stressful and most relaxed part.

Since the journey was so dull, taking her along was a good thing.

If there were real dangers, facing them together was better than letting her cry alone over his dead body.

If misfortune struck, at least there would be company on the Netherworld journey.

"Where shall we go first? I’ll let you decide, sis," Roland said casually.

Lisa was a bit surprised, letting out a soft "Huh?" "You don’t have a planned destination?"

"No, this is a spontaneous trip. The ultimate aim is to visit as many places as possible, leaving footprints and spreading knowledge across the entire realm."

Lisa lowered her head slightly, pretending to think, but secretly rejoicing inside.

Since it’s an unplanned trip, it would last for a long time.

Finally, her time with Roland as a couple could surpass the others.

Roland thought she was contemplating the destination, not realizing her mind was filled with pink petals.

After waiting for who knows how long, just when Roland was thinking about reminding her, Lisa finally made a decision.

"Let’s go to the Eternal City first. It was once the capital of the Magic Empire, now the Royal Capital of the Talia Kingdom, with a long history. Let’s start from here."

Eternal City Lazio, this city existed even before the birth of the Magic Empire.

Its history had endured countless destructions and reconstructions, never fading away, hence the name Eternal City, while the name Lazio was gradually forgotten.

People preferred to call it Tiber City or Eternal City.

It was indeed a place worth visiting.

Roland didn’t ask if Lisa had any additional reasons for choosing it, as it wasn’t important.

He could guess Lisa was likely looking after her homeland’s interests, which, being Lisa’s homeland, was his second home; whatever help he could offer, he definitely would.

Roland mused silently.

Although there seemed to be many second homelands, it wasn’t important.

This was an impromptu journey, and the preparation time was limited, but within half a day, Lisa got a luxurious carriage ready, along with all the accompanying supplies.

Seeing the carriage, Roland’s gaze was immediately drawn to the animals pulling it.

To be precise, they were not horses, but unicorn-like creatures.

"Unicorn?"

Roland’s surprise was evident.

Of course, he would be surprised. Unicorns were not natural creatures but products of the Magic Empire’s insane magical biological experiments.

The last unicorn recorded in human history disappeared with the fall of the Magic Empire, and people assumed this holy hybrid beast was extinct.

At least, for the second half of the Sixth Era’s 1795 years, no trace of unicorns was ever found.

The surprise was fleeting and didn’t linger.

Even the Demon Emperor and Sea Emperor showed up, and he had a goddess candidate superior; a mere unicorn, though rare, wasn’t enough to unsettle Roland.

As the Third Return Day approached, it was normal for more ancient creatures to make timely returns.

What’s a unicorn—just a horned white horse.

Seeing Roland’s brief surprise, Lisa couldn’t help but smile at the corners of her mouth, inviting Roland to board the carriage.

No surprise, huh? Let’s see if you can still keep your mouth shut later.

She lightly leaped onto the carriage, entering first.

Roland followed behind her onto the carriage.

Setting foot inside, Roland’s pupils widened instantly.

He wasn’t a naive youngster who hadn’t seen the world; he had witnessed miracles, glimpsed the goddess, but the scene before him was still incredible.

Is this a carriage? This is clearly a garden.

A vast garden abundant with flowers and trees.

"Oh ho ho..."

Soft laughter escaped Lisa, finally feeling happy.

Luckily, Roland wasn’t so indifferent as to show no reaction to such an impressive Super Divine Artifact.

"This is the Super Divine Artifact Eden, inspired by the myth of human creation. It’s a testament to the Magic Empire’s glorious era, preserving over five thousand plant species, more than three thousand animals, and quite a number of microorganisms and fungi."

"This is a small world."

Lisa whispered.

"After all, people shouldn’t seclude themselves from reality. At the first stop of the journey, having such a thrilling experience makes me anxious about what might come next."

Lisa lightly laughed, pointing to a nearby hut, softly murmuring, "That’s my abode, with only one bed, would you like to squeeze in with me?"

"That would be great."

Why so many beds when they had already taken the last step? There was no need for pretenses.

Lisa laughed even more joyously, snapping her fingers, and smiling as she asked, "Dear passengers, please hold onto your seats, we’re about to set off."

Following Lisa’s command, the luxurious carriage pulled by four unicorns slowly left the small courtyard, heading along the road towards the Eternal City.

The infrastructure in Talia was relatively poor, and due to the speed, the carriage jostled slightly, but these shakes wouldn’t affect those in Eden.

After all, it was a Space Magic Super Divine Artifact. If it couldn’t even manage intelligent shock absorption, it might as well be dismantled.

Lisa took Roland on a brief tour of Eden, then led him to the "little hut."

Gazing at the slightly humble hut, Roland mused internally about whether to help renovate it, as such an old, run-down house wasn’t suited for a wedding home.

However, upon entering the small shanty, he realized how redundant that thought was.

This Super Divine Artifact could fit an Eden in a carriage-sized space; secrets within the hut were no surprise.

The answer was magical Space Magic.

Though there was only one bed, more than enough room to sleep the two of them, even if a few more people joined.

Not only was there a bedroom, kitchen, study, but even a dedicated recreation room.

"It’s truly like a castle," Roland expressed genuine admiration.

Lisa softly said, "Not a castle, but a post-apocalyptic sanctuary. The former Magic Emperor envisioned the Empire’s possible decline, so he created this Super Divine Artifact, preserving the flora and fauna he loved."

"Many lives have been preserved, waiting to be revived when the time is right."

Roland suddenly understood, that Magic Emperor indeed had quite bold intentions.

He even prepared a fallback for failing against the gods.

As long as Eden was hidden and survived the final judgment, he could rebuild the previous era’s ecosystem in the next era, fulfilling his nostalgic sentiments.

Roland half-jokingly said, "The Emperor might have forgotten something, to maintain the essence of nostalgia, you need people, people of his kind."

Lisa paused, faintly saying, "Roland, if I didn’t know your boundaries, I’d really suspect you of being the reincarnation of the Magic Emperor, your thinking is exactly like his."

"Beneath this Eden, lie a thousand sleeping Magic Empire youths, eternally waiting to be awakened by the Magic Emperor."

"Unfortunately, with the Magic Empire’s fall, the revival ceremony was lost, condemning these poor fellows to eternal sleep."

Roland was indifferent to this.

Never say forever.

If the Magic Emperor were to return someday, these seeds could be awakened.

Seeing Roland’s nonchalant demeanor, Lisa said nothing further, continuing with Eden’s introduction.

After the tour, Roland vaguely sensed something, his gaze shifting northwest.

"What is that?"

"It’s the Blood Essence Stone of a powerful entity. Want to take a look?" Lisa softly asked.

"Of course, I’m curious to know who was worthy of being turned into a Blood Essence Stone for veneration here."
