Chapter 366 367
Chapter 366 367
His scalp tingled with tension as he asked, "Master, what should we do now?!"
Wing was somewhat worried. Despite using his [Gyo] to the utmost, he couldn't detect any traces of Nen being activated. The gruesome deaths of those around them made him instinctively tense up, feeling a bit anxious. He feared that such a fate might also befall them.
"We don't need to do anything," Biscuit said, her eyes scanning the scene, quickly grasping the situation. With her keen observational skills, she softly remarked, "We don't need to concern ourselves with these people; they brought this upon themselves."
The deceased were mostly those who had been cursing Netero just moments ago. Strangely, the very curses they hurled at Netero seemed to have backfired on them. Biscuit didn't believe this was mere coincidence. She had a good idea whose handiwork this was.
"Is it another one of Morin's tools? That guy really has a tool for every occasion, doesn't he?" She slightly pursed her lips, "Causing such a high casualty count seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?"
"But still..." Biscuit's lips curled into a slight smile, "I can't deny feeling a rare sense of satisfaction; I'm not bothered at all!!" As a seasoned veteran, she wasn't exactly a saint. Hearing the insults hurled at Netero by these fools had naturally put her in a foul mood. However, seeing their fate, the magnanimous Biscuit decided not to hold it against them. After all, they're no longer in this world, so what's the point of holding a grudge?
"What happened here?!" Gaki, who was also on the platform waiting, frowned at the sight. "These were the hostages we specifically kept alive. How did this happen all of a sudden?"
"Is it the V5 or a Hunter Association Nen user who killed the hostages to eliminate any future threats?!" Gaki's brow furrowed tightly. "This disrupts Lord Jed's plans."
"Or is it that the V5 and the Hunter Association are so ruthless that they've preemptively eliminated all potential threats?" Clearly, Gaki attributed the situation to the V5 and the Hunter Association. While he was feeling quite annoyed~
"Stop lamenting, Gaki! There's a guy in a black suit, the one you threw into the sewer earlier, who seems to have crawled out from the garbage chute and is running around in the hallway. Go deal with him," came Shura's reminder through the communicator.
Gaki replied, "Still alive, huh? That guy's tough... Alright, I get it. What floor is that idiot on?"
"Currently on the 253rd floor, heading towards..."
"Whoosh!"
In the main control room, Shura, with long hair draping over his shoulders, was speaking into the communication device. Just as he was mid-sentence, a whistling sound came from behind him.
Whoosh!
"Thud!"
Shura narrowly dodged, his eyes quickly catching sight of a specially made steel yo-yo that accurately smashed into his communicator, cutting off the transmission.
"Looks like we found the right place," Killua said, leaning against the doorframe, yo-yo strings wrapped around his arms, his cat-like eyes gleaming.
A few minutes earlier, bang!
"Whoa!!"
Gon and Killua were caught off guard and swept off the rooftop by Jed's long whip. However, with their skills and reflexes, they quickly took appropriate action. As they plummeted, Killua aimed for the nearby railing, pulling yo-yos from his pockets and throwing them.
The steel string yo-yos hooked onto the railing, halting his fall mid-air. Gon, using the [Monster Hat] from Morin, extended its rubbery arms to wrap around Killua, allowing both to remain suspended.
"Looks like all the buildings outside are sealed off," Killua observed, noting the steel structures slowly enclosing the floors. "Given the strength of that guy managing the building and the task of guarding Chairman Netero, it's clear the one controlling these external devices isn't him. There's someone else."
"Is it that Jed guy's partner? Like the little girl who took her own life in Chairman Netero's room?!" Gon clenched his fists, "Willing to watch your partner commit suicide, even using their lives as a tool for revenge... such a person..." Evidently, Jed's disregard for his companions' lives struck a nerve with the stubborn Gon.
"I have to defeat him!!"
"I understand how you feel," Killua acknowledged, glancing around, "but right now, I think our priority should be finding the main control room and liberating the entire Heaven's Arena."
"They said they'd wait until five in the morning, right? We still have time!!"
---
"Alright!!" Gon nodded fiercely, swinging his body with force. "First comes Rock, Paper, Scissors... Rock!!" The Nen energy from his Jajanken gathered, and like Uvogin, he punched a massive hole in the nearby iron wall.
Honestly, the difference between Gon's Jajanken and Uvogin's [Big Bang Impact] wasn't much. Both punches were infused with Nen, but Gon had a charging action and a chant, which served as a prerequisite to enhance the power of his punch after charging.
Breaking through the wall and re-entering the tower, Gon and Killua continued to chase down various clues. They finally found Shura, who was controlling the main control room, and Killua took the initiative to interrupt his communication.
"Seems like there are still a lot of restless people around?" Shura covered his face with his hand, peering through his fingers with eyes full of coldness at Killua. "Netherworld Converter!" Instantly, deep blue-black lines erupted from the surrounding machines, sweeping towards Killua. This was another ability he used to control machines against enemies!!
"Now this is interesting!!" Killua's face showed a slight smile as he vanished in a flash of lightning, revealing Gon, who had been charging up behind him. "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Punch!!" A powerful Jajanken was unleashed. This time, however, using the [Monster Hat], Gon's arm suddenly extended long.
The powerful Jajanken launched a direct assault towards Shura's face. With the [Monster Hat] enhancing his attack range, Gon had successfully transitioned from a close-range fighter to a long-range warrior. With the expanded attack range, Gon's combat power and mobility were elevated several levels!!
"Morin is making a move! He's going up against Jed! Ready to let loose? Then I won't hold back either!!" The battle between Gon, Killua, and Shura erupted.
"Hello? Shura? Hello? What's happening?" Gaki tapped his communication device, and when he got no response, he casually took a sip and stood up from the platform. "Oh well, I don't know what's happening, but it should be handled soon. I'll go meet the other stragglers. Hopefully, they're not much weaker than Lord Jed's opponent... Really, even I'm getting inexplicably excited."
Meanwhile, another battlefield was about to ignite. At the top of the tower, "Looks like you two are out of the game," Morin put away the [Magic Spellbook] and stepped forward.
"A man can't say he's out!!" Uvogin grumbled in his deep voice. "Where the hell did you learn that phrase?!" Despite being fully engaged in defense, Nobunaga glanced at Uvogin with some exasperation. This guy had been picking up strange phrases from who knows where recently.
"He still has some companions. You guys handle them," Morin didn't say much more, just gave a light chuckle and instantly entered the fray. He grabbed Uvogin and Nobunaga with both arms. Instant teleportation!! The three of them suddenly appeared outside the arena.
"As for this guy, let me handle it." Morin patted their shoulders and stepped forward. "Sigh, it ends like this..." Uvogin grumbled discontentedly. "No choice, the opponent is indeed an enemy we can't handle right now," Nobunaga was more accepting, calling out to the disgruntled Uvogin, "How about we go down and take out this guy's companions?"
"Let's do it!!" Uvogin, waving his arms in frustration, declared, "I'm going to twist off all their heads one by one!!" Realizing his strength wasn't enough, Uvogin was infuriated and led the way through the hole. Nobunaga followed, and the two disappeared, heading to cause trouble for Shura and Gaki.
On the battlefield against Jed, only Morin remained. "I can sense the difference between you and the other two," Jed said, watching Morin approach. His smile faded slightly. "I must admit, you're strong in this world."
"However, you won't be my match." Jed spoke with a calm demeanor, confident in his words.
