Chapter 134: Look at How Sharp-Tongued and Mean You Are
I don’t understand why he left Su Lingzhi alone.
Little Li pondered for a moment, then quickly called to order a meal.
When he knocked on the door and went in, he saw the person who had been sleeping groggily sit up from the sofa, looking at him with a bewildered expression.
Little Li walked over with the meal, saying to her, "Miss Su, this is the lunch Mr. Fu prepared for you."
Su Lingzhi glanced at the suit jacket draped over her, her eyes suddenly widened, and she anxiously asked, "Where is he?"
Seeing him shake his head, Su Lingzhi regretfully scratched her head and murmured, "How did I fall asleep..."
"What’s going on between Miss Su and President Fu?"
"What does Lili have scheduled for the afternoon?"
Little Li replied, "At five in the afternoon, Lili is scheduled to meet President Zhou of Yan City at Yun Ni Mountain Villa."
Su Lingzhi continued to ask, "What about other times?"
"Originally, there was a meeting in the afternoon, and after the meeting, Lili planned to go to Yun Ni Mountain Villa. But now, I’m not sure where President Fu has gone."
Hearing this, Su Lingzhi’s eyes darkened, with a trace of sadness passing through them.
Once she arrived, he ran away.
Looks like he’s avoiding her, still unwilling to meet her.
Suddenly remembering something, Su Lingzhi asked, "Did he leave with Shao Yuwei?"
"President Fu left alone."
Su Lingzhi took a deep breath; it seemed he wouldn’t be back in the afternoon.
"Miss Su, please have lunch first."
When the lid was opened, a rich aroma spread out, tempting her at her nose.
Since yesterday, she had eaten nothing more than a few mouthfuls of food.
She was indeed a bit hungry now.
Su Lingzhi turned her head, "He’s not here, I can’t eat."
Little Li advised, "President Fu specially prepared this for you, it’d be a waste not to eat."
Su Lingzhi hesitated for a while and then focused her gaze back on him, "You can reach him, can’t you?"
For a moment, Little Li’s face was frozen, and he said, "I’ll give it a try."
With that, Little Li took out his phone, found Fu Yinli’s number, dialed it, and handed the phone to her.
The other end picked up, and an extremely cold voice came through, "What is it?"
Su Lingzhi cleared her throat and called out, "Lili."
However, before she could start talking, the call suddenly disconnected.
Su Lingzhi’s expression froze, a piercing coldness seeped into her body, causing her heart to ache.
Everyone else could get through to him, except her. As soon as he heard her voice, he hung up the phone, not even giving her a chance to meet him. What does he want her to do?
Little Li took the phone back from her hand, looking at her sympathetically.
He hadn’t expected President Fu to hang up her call so decisively and didn’t understand what was going on between them.
It wasn’t his place to intervene, so he offered, "Then, Miss Su, please have lunch first. I’ll go back to my workstation. If you need anything, feel free to reach out."
As the door closed, the room felt empty and desolate.
There was a void within Su Lingzhi’s heart as well, and she clenched her fists, holding back anger, while stuffing rice into her mouth relentlessly.
Avoiding her, is that it...
She would make sure he had nowhere to hide.
After finishing lunch, she went ahead to Yun Ni Mountain Villa to wait for him.
But entering Yun Ni Mountain Villa wasn’t easy. It took a lot of effort, and she finally asked for Little Li’s help to get in.
Once people heard she was someone from Fu Yinli, their attitude shifted 180 degrees, treating her courteously, not daring to neglect her in the slightest.
Su Lingzhi requested, "Could you please inform me when Fu Yinli arrives?"
The manager quickly agreed amiably.
Su Lingzhi added, "Also, please do not tell him I’m here, I beg of you."
"Of course, we can do that."
"Thank you, then. You don’t have to hover around me; I’ll just be around here, let me know if anything comes up."
"Alright, Miss, feel free."
The sky outside grew heavier. Several waiters began moving flower pots under the eaves.
Su Lingzhi stood by the window watching this scene, feeling something rubbing against her leg. She instinctively shivered and looked down at the white cat.
She took a deep breath, squatted down, and petted its head, "So it’s you, little thing."
There was no one around, nor any sign of the cat’s owner.
The little thing was pure white, strikingly delicate, and its fur was soft, making one want to pet it more.
"Where is your owner gone?" Su Lingzhi’s voice unconsciously softened in front of the adorable creature.
As she tried to pick it up, she heard hurried footsteps approaching.
"You can’t even watch a cat properly? If Mr. Li’s cat goes missing, we’re doomed."
Upon hearing this, Su Lingzhi glanced over, seeing Tong Yan elegantly appear before her, and her expression turned cold.
"Su Lingzhi?" Tong Yan was surprised, her gaze landing on the cat in her arms, "Why is Little Silver with you?"
She rushed over in her high heels and snatched the cat from Su Lingzhi’s arms.
The little creature reacted stressfully, causing Tong Yan to immediately let go, leaving several scratch marks on Su Lingzhi’s hand.
Su Lingzhi gasped at the cold air, her gaze moving from the safely landed creature to Tong Yan, icy as she looked at her, "Look at your sharp and mean demeanor, even cats want to scratch you."
"You were the one it hurt, and you’re the one it dislikes," Tong Yan retorted.
Su Lingzhi sneered and didn’t want to entangle further with her, not wishing to add to her discomfort.
Just as she turned to leave, she encountered a man in a black suit walking towards her.
The man had a rugged face, as though sculpted from ice, with an air of authority that warned strangers to stay away.
"Mr. Li," Tong Yan called out.
At this moment, the little creature walked toward him, rubbing weakly against his leg and mewing.
The man bent down, holding the creature, angling his gaze towards Su Lingzhi’s injured hand, frowning, "Little Silver scratched you?"
Realizing he was the owner, Su Lingzhi remained silent, intending to leave when Tong Yan’s accusatory voice sounded behind her, "She tried to steal Little Silver, which frightened it, leading to her getting scratched."
Su Lingzhi incredulously turned back, having underestimated Tong Yan’s duplicitous nature.
She didn’t know the man, but he exuded a formidable presence, and Tong Yan’s false accusations suggested he was no easy person to handle.
Su Lingzhi explained, "I didn’t do anything to your pet. Whatever happened, you can check the villa’s surveillance for the truth."
After she said this, she courteously nodded at him and stepped away.
At the mention of checking surveillance, Tong Yan immediately panicked, glancing around nervously.
