Chapter 482 - 328 Zhong Buli

Chapter 482 - 328 Zhong Buli

Sui Yi hesitated for a moment, but the woman abruptly turned her head to look at her.

Those eyes... they were dazzling and fiery.

Assessing yet appearing somewhat disdainful, they flickered uncertainly before settling into a scorching gaze.

As if they intended to burn her alive.

This intense and sharp heat was unprovoked, yet Sui Yi could feel the other’s undisguised hostility. She frowned slightly and looked back at her...

Their gazes met!

"It seems you really are a formidable character... I really want to see just how formidable!"

Zhong Buli suddenly reached behind her back and drew a crescent blade from her waist. The curved blade gleamed silver, its edge as cold as a moonlit clear pond, emitting a chilling presence. As she flipped her wrist, it made a sound like swirling silver sand. The gleam of the blade, along with her red figure, flashed like a specter and suddenly arrived right in front of Sui Yi!

Attacking as soon as she spoke...! What an efficient girl!

Sui Yi did not even raise an eyebrow, but with a light step, she moved as swiftly as an autumn leaf floating upward, evading the cold light and landing atop the wall. Her clothes billowed as she perched there. It was only then that the novice monk noticed the sword fittings at her waist, though there was no sword.

Her long coat concealed it and her extraordinary aura, like a figure enshrouded in misty rain, made it hard to imagine she would be one to wear a sword.

Indeed, she had no sword at this moment.

Entering Clear Pond Temple, she had grown accustomed to not carrying a sword or any sharp weapon for many years, and this had not changed.

Zhong Buli noticed as well and her slender eyebrows furrowed sharply, "Good movement technique, but no weapon. You must think Clear Pond Temple is too safe for you, or perhaps you’re relying on someone to protect you!"

The woman was too forthright and direct in her ways, speaking her mind freely like the wind and rain. However, it was unclear where her hostility towards Sui Yi stemmed from.

There was also an implication in her words.

But in her second move, her speed increased dramatically, showing that her initial attack was rather courteous compared to what followed.

Swish—cutting through the wind! A sharp slicing sound~~

It nearly encircled Sui Yi’s neck...

Sui Yi dodged with agility, showcasing her exceptional movement technique.

Master Fan Yin, with a furrowed brow, grasped his Buddha Beads tightly, about to step forward, but was stopped by a middle-aged monk with higher seniority: "Master Fan Yin, do not forget the precepts, you cannot engage in combat right now."

Fan Yin’s expression changed, unable to intervene and stop Zhong Buli. He raised his voice from a distance: "Donor Zhong, our dispute should not involve Benefactor Sui, it does not concern her."

"You speak lightly, always thinking of her. Why don’t you think of me?" Zhong Buli retorted with a slight anger, her attacks becoming even less merciful.

Sui Yi glanced at her, then at the helpless expression on Fan Yin’s face, and began to understand a bit more.

With a light step, she leaped onto a tree branch, looking down at Zhong Buli with a slight frown.

She did not want to engage in combat.

"She has a hidden ailment and must not engage in combat recklessly. She’s being courteous to you. Why must you insist on this?" Fan Yin took a step forward, his voice growing a bit heavier.

"A hidden ailment? Is it a troubled heart? Seems like she’s another pitiable person. Well, that’s all the more reason for me not to stop!" Zhong Buli was a strange girl, setting her own rules unlike others. With those words, she suddenly lunged toward Sui Yi, her attacks even fiercer than before.

Fan Yin’s eyes narrowed, unable to hold back any longer, and with a swift move, he stepped in front of Sui Yi, blocking the incoming blade with the back of his hand.

Back of the hand blocking the blade.

Zhong Buli’s expression changed, she gritted her teeth and withdrew her blade. Meanwhile, Sui Yi closed her eyes and then made a sidestep.

Moving past Fan Yin, she closed in on Zhong Buli. Everyone thought she was going to strike, but instead, they saw her elongated arm gather like a soaring eagle, grabbing Zhong Buli’s waist as they both floated down towards the tree branch.

A cool voice followed them upward and drifted into Fan Yin’s ears.

"She’s right, it’s better to channel than to block."

Channel rather than block... channel rather than block?

Fan Yin looked puzzled, then saw that Sui Yi and Zhong Buli had resumed their fight.

They were like fluttering shadows, hard to conceal their magnificent beauty. Their Inner Strength was dominating and fierce, the sound of the blade mournful, the tree shadows whispering, echoing to the outside, drawing the curious attention of nearby travelers and pilgrims. If they were too far, they would only sense some chaotic disturbance inside; if they were near, they would surely be frightened!

Was it a ghost?

Quite a few monks from Clear Pond Temple had already rushed out to prevent the onlookers from getting too close. Yet, this only heightened their curiosity, and though they dared not rush in, they could only crane their necks to look...
