Chapter 388 - 382: Horror Doll House 30

Chapter 388 - 382: Horror Doll House 30

She quietly glanced at the girl in the red skirt beside her.

The girl was looking down, her small hands fiddling with the reagents, a hint of excitement in her eyes.

The nurse gave a warning look to these newcomers: "I warn you not to attempt to escape, no one can bear the cost of escaping. If anyone tries to run and is caught, everyone on the fifth floor will be cleansed and eliminated, understand? Everyone."

This means that if just one person is caught trying to escape, everyone will suffer.

It seems cruel, but in fact, it’s a strategy of sowing discord.

In this way, everyone becomes like surveillance cameras. If one person wishes to escape, they must deceive everyone present, or they will be stopped before the doctors even arrive.

Josh raised an eyebrow, finding these people quite clever.

Seeing that they had settled down, the nurse showed a trace of satisfaction in her eyes and then turned to leave.

Josh touched the items on the table.

They seemed a bit interesting.

But...

They all saw the fate of the person who previously prepared the green reagent and drank it.

Clearly, passing the experiment is not as simple as producing a green reagent.

Josh turned to the little girl in the red skirt beside her: "If you produce the green reagent and drink it, you’ll become a man if you succeed, right?"

The little girl glanced at her and actually responded: "Yes."

Josh asked further: "So you’ve been following me because you want to reach the fifth floor?"

The little girl didn’t respond and continued to focus on her own reagents.

Josh thought for a moment, then suddenly said: "If I produce the green reagent, I can let you try it."

The little girl then looked at her again: "You’re willing to give me your reagent?"

Josh nodded: "Of course, your brother should be waiting for you outside, right?"

The little girl showed a hint of surprise in her eyes.

Josh knew she had guessed correctly.

The boy shared similar features with her, presumably siblings.

And that boy had likely passed the fifth-floor experiment, successfully turning into a male and able to leave here.

But the little girl hadn’t passed the experiment yet, so he stayed here, waiting for her.

Without them, just relying on the boy and the little girl, he might not have been able to bring her to the fifth floor alone.

There were many reagents on the table.

Josh randomly mixed a few.

She wasn’t sure, perhaps it worked like a color palette?

She tentatively mixed them, but the reagents didn’t change color as she thought they would.

To be more precise, it seemed to change color randomly, with almost no principle or pattern to reference.

Sitting there and working all day, Josh saw that her hands were already corroded.

Yet she clearly hadn’t touched the reagents.

Others experienced similar things, but the corroded areas varied; for Yuze, it was the arms, and for Rob, it was the feet...

"Everyone, stand up."

Everyone in the hall stood up.

Josh and the others exchanged glances and stood up as well.

The clock on the hall wall showed 6 AM.

Had nearly 6 hours already passed?

They had only arrived at midnight.

Josh and the others fell in line orderly, following the nurse’s guidance into the ward.

So it’s rest time now?

Having just arrived on the fifth floor, everyone was confused and didn’t move rashly.

Josh and the group were brought into a large ward.

The ward contained about a dozen beds.

Each person took a bed, lying side by side.

The nurse came over, taking Josh’s hand: "Your bodies are starting to rot. I’ll bandage your wounds, don’t move."

Josh didn’t move, only asking, "Nurse, why are my hands corroded? Obviously, I didn’t touch the reagents."

This question was on everyone’s minds.

The nurse looked at her like she was an idiot: "The reagents are absolutely safe and non-corrosive; it’s the air that’s corrosive. You all aren’t supposed to be here. To survive on the fifth floor, you must quickly produce a reagent and pass the experiment to leave, or you’ll slowly corrode and turn into a mass of rotten flesh."

Josh nodded thoughtfully.

So that’s how it is.

The nurse bandaged the corroded areas on others as well, instructing them to sleep well and not cause trouble before leaving.

A few of them lay in bed, with the sunrise outside, feeling no eagerness to sleep.

The little girl seemed at ease, lying down and falling asleep straight away, without any other thoughts or questions.

There was another row of beds across from them, where people on the beds were almost entirely covered in bandages.

Some people had extra limbs and organs on their bodies, looking particularly frightening.

"Pain... it hurts so much..."

"Oh, dear..."

"It hurts..."

The ward gradually filled with groans, making it impossible to sleep.

Josh quietly observed the others around her.

Someone was lying on a bed, with an IV drip in their head, continuously injecting red blood into the person on the opposite bed. The mouth on her body was hungrily making constant chewing motions, as if savoring something delicious.

She clutched her ears in pain: "Stop eating, don’t eat anymore! Shut up!!"

These people were likely those who drank the reagents but failed the experiment. If they passed, they would have become men like the boy in red.

Why did one have to become a man to leave?

Could it be that all these players had to become men to reach the sixth floor?

But aren’t Yuze and the others men already?

Josh felt puzzled.

She glanced at Yuze beside her, giving him a look.

Yuze slightly nodded.

They both got up from their beds.

The people in the beds suddenly sat up in unison, staring at them in horror.

Josh frowned slightly; she had forgotten these were all "surveillance."

They both lay back on their beds.

Josh pondered for a moment, looking at the window beside the ward.

She manipulated the Spider Silk to hook Yuze, shifting his position to outside the window.

A strong hand instantly grasped the window ledge, letting their body hang down, and the people in the ward did not notice anything unusual.

Josh smiled and, imitating Yuze, pulled a pillow into the bed, forming a mound beneath the covers and used the Spider Silk to slip outside, quickly grabbed by Yuze.

Yuze frowned and glared at her: "Do you know how dangerous that was?"

Josh grinned: "I trust you!"

Yuze chuckled angrily, only wanting to give her a smack on the head. She hadn’t given any warning before jumping out. If he had been distracted and failed to catch her, what then?

Josh adhered the Spider Silk to the wall, extending it upward to the sixth floor.

Once they hooked onto the edge of the sixth-floor window, she glanced at Yuze, and the two used the Spider Silk to flash to the sixth-floor window ledge, clinging on securely.
