Chapter 365 - 359: Horror Doll House 7
Chapter 365 - 359: Horror Doll House 7
The player didn’t dare to look at the dolls on the display, but indeed heard nothing else.
He was somewhat overwhelmed and said, "Let’s hurry and find clues. This place is bizarre and evil, I really don’t want to stay here!"
"Tch...Useless!"
Someone in the crowd rolled their eyes.
The crowd dispersed, no one wanting to waste time on someone useless.
The sooner clues are found, the sooner they’ll clear the level.
Josh stared at the doll on the player’s display, stepping forward one step at a time.
The information under the doll’s display said Unnamed Baby Girl, 6 weeks.
Upon seeing the words Unnamed Baby Girl, Josh’s brows furrowed slightly.
Many display cases here were like this; some dolls had names, but the unnamed ones were labeled as "Unnamed Baby Girl," yet these were clearly rag dolls, no matter how realistically crafted, they bore no relation to real humans.
She squinted her eyes, then looked up, and suddenly met the doll’s hollow eyes.
The doll’s posture had changed!
Originally tilting its head and staring emptily ahead, now the doll was looking down, its hollow gaze fixed directly at Josh.
Those hollow eye sockets were clearly empty, yet carried an inexplicable sense of eeriness.
There was almost no conversation on the whole second floor, only faint footsteps echoing around.
Staring at the doll’s eyes, Josh suddenly heard a string of creepy and secretive doll laughter, and a chilling breeze brushed past her feet.
The laughter then drifted away.
She glanced at the wind direction, and upon turning back, the doll had already reverted to its original posture, even the slight angle tilts were identical.
The change in posture seemed like an illusion of hers.
Josh looked warily at the doll’s position, then turned to find her teammates.
Soft footsteps came from behind, very light and small, as if kids’ shoes scuffing the ground, each step tiny and slow, carrying a child’s weight.
Josh spun around suddenly, only to see all the dolls on the displays had changed their posture, facing her direction, with their empty gazes fixed exactly at her.
Though the dolls’ eyes were void, some sewn with buttons, others crudely stitched with a black cross, they all felt as if they were genuinely locking their gaze on her. In an instant, she felt a chill run down her spine.
These dolls carried intense hostility.
"Found anything?" Yuze suddenly appeared beside her.
Josh looked at him, felt slightly reassured, and shook her head, "Not much useful information."
She turned her attention back to the dolls, and sure enough, they had returned to their previous postures, vacant eyes and distorted actions, like puppets manipulated by strings.
Yuze ruffled her hair, "Let’s go, don’t wander off alone."
Josh nodded and followed him.
Suddenly, she asked, "Captain, did you notice anything strange about these dolls?"
Yuze nodded, "Noticed."
Josh looked serious.
Yuze rationally said, "These dolls are poorly made, probably this place was a doll shop before. They couldn’t sell these ugly ones and went out of business."
Vaguely, Josh felt the air on the second floor become heavier with hostility.
Her lips twitched, "You should just shut up."
Yuze looked at her, "What? You disagree?"
Josh felt inexplicably as if daggers were aimed at her, even though the dolls didn’t move.
She suddenly found herself at a loss for words, pondered for a moment, and said, "Not necessarily ugly, maybe some people have... unique tastes."
The hostility showed no signs of abating.
Josh let out a long sigh.
Suddenly, soft steps sounded from behind, and Josh froze in place.
But this time, she didn’t rashly turn around and continued forward.
Yuze sensed something unusual about her, "What is it?"
Josh paused for a moment, "Nothing."
Her Spider Silk extended from her glove, probing over her shoulder, to meet a pair of twisted, sinister eyes.
It was that red-dressed doll with raised eyebrows, following not too far behind them.
The moment Spider Silk probed, the doll sharply sensed its presence, even tilted its head to give a mocking smile to the Spider Silk.
Josh furrowed her brows slightly, retracting the Spider Silk.
Judging by Yuze’s sharpness, if a doll was truly following them, he should have noticed.
But he acted as if nothing was wrong.
Josh looked at him, "Captain, did you notice..."
Yuze nodded, "Noticed."
Josh, "Then you?"
Yuze, "I have no interest in smacking children."
The red-dressed child behind them: "..."
Josh suddenly grinned, "I do."
The red-dressed child behind them: "..."
The two exchanged a glance, their bodies moved.
The red-dressed doll sensed danger, trying to turn and flee, but it was too late.
A moment later.
The battered red-dressed doll stared gloomily at Josh, "Let me go! Foolish adults, you’ll pay for this, I swear!"
Josh and Yuze crouched on the ground, staring at the child bound tightly.
Yuze, "Doesn’t look much like a rag doll, could it be a real person?"
Josh was puzzled, "Why couldn’t it be a real person?"
Yuze curiously glanced sideways at her, "You’ve seen a kid this ugly?"
Josh seriously nodded, "I have."
Yuze contemplated, staring at the red-dressed face, his eyes squinting slightly, "Seems like my knowledge is limited."
The hostility in the red-dressed child surged several times, "You arrogant fools! Go die! All of you die! Die!"
A dull thud followed, as a flick fell on her head, causing three swollen bumps to emerge stacked like a totem pole.
Yuze lazily withdrew his hand, eyes half-lidded, "Manners, call us brother and sister."
"Ahhhhh, how dare you hit me! Damn you! I curse you! Curse you! You’re marked for death now!" The red-dressed child screamed sharply, her eerie childish voice sounding especially sinister and terrifying.
Another dull thud sounded.
Yuze lazily withdrew his hand.
Josh looked at the symmetrical doll-like bumps on the young girl’s head, empathetically feeling a twinge in her own forehead, "You better do as he says."
The little girl gloomily lowered her head, her eyes glared fiercely at the two, black aura emanating from her.
A dull thud echoed again.
Now the symmetrical candy stick bumps turned into three ’incense sticks’ on her forehead.
"Brother, sister, I’m sorry... wuuuuu..." The ghostly cry of the intimidated young girl echoed through every corner of the second floor.
The players shuddered, feeling their hair stand on end, quickly moving closer to their teammates.
Rob pounced on Yushi, "I’m scared, carry me."
Yushi, "...Heavy, get down."
Rob whimpered and pouted coquettishly.
Yushi stared at him eerily, "On your shoulder..."
"Ahhhh, shut up!" Rob clapped his hand over Yushi’s mouth, "Scare me one more time and I’ll bite you!"
Jiang Can looked at the dolls displayed, yet felt an indescribable unease.
He turned, "Don’t you think..."
The two teammates clung to each other, Rob’s hand still resting on Yushi’s lips.
Jiang Can’s breath paused, his eye twitched slightly, "Has our guild fallen so hard you’re doing fan service for money?"
Rob, "..."
With a blank expression, Yushi tore him off, "Can’t sell, at all. I, have someone I like!"
