Chapter 450 450: Turned Into Gacha?! - 450

Their conflicting ideologies failed to strike even a single spark. Both were far too entrenched in their own convictions, and individuals of that caliber aren't moved by mere words.

Thanos was grateful for the Curios Herta had gifted him, but that didn't change the fact that he still wanted her gone.

Sensing this shift in the air, Herta saw no reason to keep talking.

Thanos felt the same—there was nothing left to say. Under the watchful eyes of the Black Order, he personally descended into the heart of the fray.

As a starship streaked past, lobbing energy bombs in his direction, Thanos lunged upward. His blade carved through the hull like a hot knife through butter, leaving a massive, jagged breach in its wake.

Seemingly unsatisfied with such a small prize, he scanned his surroundings and leaped toward another vessel. Within a few short bounds, several ships lay in ruins behind him.

Naturally, the Avengers were watching it all unfold.

"We're ready when you are," Steve Rogers said, turning to Asta.

"Good."

Asta nodded before addressing the elderly man at the command console. "General, I'm leaving the frontline command entirely in your hands."

Logistically speaking, Asta and the General belonged to different departments—different worlds, really.

There was no formal hierarchy between them, but her status as the Lead Researcher of the Space Station gave her a level of authority on The Blue that was second only to Herta herself.

The General gave a sharp nod, accepting the charge with solemn gravity.

With that, Asta led the trio out of the command center.

"This war is between The Blue and Thanos," Asta said, making one final check as they hurried toward the deployment bays. "Once you step in, there's no turning back. You'll be part of this forever."

"The moment Thanos's 'ideal' was born, Earth... no, the entire universe was already involved."

Rogers didn't hesitate. He knew Asta was reminding them that this battle might permanently expose Earth to the wider cosmos. But after so many simulations, he had learned the hard truth: Earth's greatest threat didn't come from strangers.

It came from Thanos.

There was no telling when Herta might leave Earth. If they didn't deal with Thanos before the Ancient One and Odin passed on, a Sword of Damocles would forever hang over their heads.

Now, riding the momentum of Herta's presence, was the time to eliminate the threat for good and silence the ticking clock in their hearts. Tony and Banner felt exactly the same.

Seeing their resolve remained unshaken, Asta said no more.

Inside the Star Destroyer, researchers were moving much faster than usual, though they didn't seem particularly panicked.

They were certain they'd be safe; with Madam Herta physically present on the ship, her very existence acted as a powerful sedative for the crew. Still, being in the middle of a war zone tends to get the blood pumping.

Taking in the crew's absolute faith in Herta, the four of them stepped onto a moving walkway and quickly reached the deployment bay.

"Alright, it's time to come out, Big Guy..." Banner took a deep breath, calling out to the Hulk, who was already restless within.

Rip!

As muscle and bone surged outward, his clothes strained and expanded. Hulk threw his head back with a thunderous roar, scanning the room for a target.

He found none.

"I told you it'd work. It's important for the baby to have the right outfit," Tony quipped, looking at the resilient, fiber-reinforced suit that had survived the transformation.

"Enemy! Smash!" Hulk grunted, indifferent to the fashion commentary. He didn't have a human sense of shame; he just wanted to get to the "fun" part.

"You'll see them soon. Don't hit anything that looks like this—everything else is fair game."

Tony used nanobots to project a holographic model of their own fleet. Once he was sure Hulk understood, he walked toward a specific corner of the bay.

Waiting there was a bright silver rectangular block, seventeen meters tall and ten meters wide. As Tony reached out, the nanobots in his palm interfaced with the structure, and the entire mass began to liquefy and shift.

Under Jarvis's control, the cube bled into Tony's signature gold and red, reshaping itself into a towering, sleek mechanical suit.

"Now this is cool." Tony couldn't help but grin at his life-sized "Gundam" model. It was a suit designed specifically for deep-space combat.

While a humanoid frame wasn't technically the most efficient design for a vacuum, that didn't matter. The first rule of Stark tech was:

It had to look badass.

Just like his Iron Man armor, aesthetics were a core design element. Besides, it was all nanobots anyway; if he needed a different shape, he'd just rebuild it on the fly.

Compared to those two, Rogers was much more straightforward. After his Valkyrie Serum upgrade was complete, he had taken a "loan" from Herta to integrate a Benares fusion factor into his DNA.

For his current physique, the vacuum of space was no longer a death sentence.

Having opted for pure physical enhancement, Rogers simply donned a specialized helmet and climbed onto the shoulder of Tony's mech. He gave Asta a brief nod, signaling they were ready for the hatch to open.

With the team set, Asta triggered the doors.

Buffered by his massive power boost, Hulk let out a roar and leaped into the void. He slammed into a ship that wasn't on Tony's "protected" list, his fist punching a hole nearly all the way through the hull.

His raw strength was leagues beyond what it used to be.

Feeling the power surging through his veins, Hulk bared his teeth in an excited grin and hurled a chunk of the wreckage at another ship.

"Let him have his fun. How are you holding up, Cap?"

Inside the mech, Tony watched the Hulk to make sure he wasn't causing friendly fire, then checked in with Rogers. Since Steve was wearing a comms-integrated helmet, his voice came through crystal clear.

As he spoke, Tony wasn't idle. Countless nanobots deployed from the mech's back, forming transparent, wing-like laser emitters. As the machine surged forward, it rained down high-intensity thermal beams, melting through enemy armor like paper.

"Get me to Thanos."

Rogers' goal was singular. He had been gunning for the Titan since the start.

"Copy that. Call me if you need a lift." Tony didn't argue. The two of them rocketed toward Thanos's position.

Across the battlefield, Thanos noticed the new arrivals.

He yanked his blade from the wreckage beneath his feet and looked up at the incoming machine—and the shield-bearing figure leaping from it to land directly in his path.

To face him alone in the middle of a war... if the environment allowed for a chat, Thanos might have actually enjoyed a word or two with such a man.

But seeing that the soldier had no interest in talking and was charging straight for him, Thanos put the thought aside.

Against a warrior this strong, he wouldn't dare be distracted.
