I'm In Love With the Guy I Grew Up With

Chapter 391: Strange Youngster 3

Chapter 391: Strange Youngster 3

Axi, seriously!

This person is way too much!

Ning Xixi took out her cellphone, ready to call the police, but then she heard a "thud" from inside the room, as if something heavy had fallen to the ground.

She tiptoed to peek through the crack of the door and was shocked.

That young boy... had actually fainted!

After hesitating for a few seconds, she didn’t rush in rashly but went to get the neighbor’s nanny, Auntie Zhang, to come over to prevent any accidents.

Kind-hearted Auntie Zhang, holding a Chicken Feather Duster, entered the room with Ning Xixi and turned the boy over. Auntie Zhang exclaimed, "This child, why is his body covered in injuries?"

Ning Xixi took a closer look and noticed numerous new and old wounds on his exposed arms and ankles.

Most horrifying were the ferocious wounds on his wrists, clearly cut by a sharp object, with the wound poorly managed; the flesh was turned out, looking painful to even look at!

Ning Xixi pursed her lips and, together with Auntie Zhang, helped him onto the sofa and began to treat his wounds with a first aid kit.

Auntie Zhang muttered, "Could this be a middle school student who ran away from home due to domestic abuse? He looks quite young, probably starved..."

"Maybe..." Ning Xixi carefully applied the medicine. The pain might have been too much, as the unconscious boy couldn’t help but frown deeply.

"I reckon he’s going to wake up soon. I’ll stay with you and see what the situation is, see whether to contact his family or call the police."

"Sure, thank you, Auntie."

Auntie Zhang smiled, "We are neighbors, it’s what we should do. Your mom used to live here when she was young; she was really good to us neighborhood folks, a shame she married a man who let her down..."

Realizing that she shouldn’t have said that, Auntie Zhang changed the subject, "I’ll go tell my lady and then come back to cook for you. You girl, haven’t seen you for a long time, you seem to have lost weight."

Ning Xixi thanked her again, feeling a bit sad from what Auntie Zhang had mentioned.

Perhaps, it would have been better if Song Weiyang hadn’t married Ning Jingshen...

She propped her arms and became lost in thought. Suddenly, her wrist was tightly grasped, and a sound akin to a beast’s low growl startled the room—

"!" She was startled, "Hey, if you try anything, I’m calling the police!"

The youth’s dark eyes stared intensely at her, sniffing like a dog. When he smelled the aroma from the kitchen, he seemed fearful yet somewhat eager, "Can I eat something?"

"You promise not to touch me, then you can eat!"

The boy immediately nodded, looking somewhat silly.

Just then, Auntie Zhang brought out the meal from the kitchen, "Xixi, come eat... oh, you’re awake?"

Ning Xixi watched, agape, as the boy dashed unbelievably quickly to the dining table. Not knowing how long he had been hungry, he grabbed the food with his hands and began eating ravenously.

Being this hungry... could he really be a runaway kid?

Auntie Zhang thought the same, served him some soup, and asked sympathetically, "Child, what’s your name? How old are you? Where are you from?"

"I’m surnamed Dong..." The boy only mentioned his surname, then pursed his lips, "I forgot my own name..."

His sister wouldn’t tell him his name; she always called him "little bastard," "little beast," he was embarrassed to say.

Ning Xixi curled her lips, "Got amnesia and still not behaving, why did you run away from home?"

The boy hung his head, his pace of stuffing food into his mouth slowed down.
