Ning Xixi’s face grew paler and paler. Biting her lip, she kept walking forward without looking back.

Seeing this from downstairs, the Ji Family butler thought the young couple had quarreled, and noticing how angry Young Master Ji Yebai had become, he pondered for a moment. Concerned for Ning Xixi’s safety, he approached respectfully, "Miss Ning, I will have the driver take you."

He turned and went back to his bedroom. Without Ning Xixi’s belongings, the room seemed suddenly empty and lifeless.

Ji Yebai lay on the bed with a cold face, the pillow still retaining the faint scent of Ning Xixi.

Lemon-scented shower gel, the same kind they both used, but hers always had a slightly sweet and cloying scent to it.

He turned over restlessly in bed and threw Ning Xixi’s pillow angrily to the floor, "She’s gone and still left the pillow behind, stupid girl!"

A few seconds passed, and Ji Yebai jumped out of bed, crouched on the floor, staring at the mistreated pillow, his voice low and somewhat aggrieved, "Little Xixi, how could you really just leave..."

Ning Xixi took a bath, and lay on the soft bed, motionless.

She didn’t know if she had done something wrong, but every time she thought of Ji Yebai’s harsh words, she felt especially miserable inside.

"Stop thinking about it! Go to sleep!" She shook her head, covered herself under the quilt, and tried hard to fall asleep.

After tossing and turning for a long time, Ning Xixi finally fell asleep but soon was having nightmares, restless in bed.

At the Ji Family residence.

The atmosphere in the living room was cold and severe.

Grandfather Ji tapped his cane, pointed at Ji Yebai’s nose, and scolded fiercely, "You just let Little Xixi go like that? Have you lost your arms or your legs? Can’t you stop her? Can’t you persuade her? Even if she really wanted to move out, couldn’t you have talked nicely and sent the young lady off properly instead of letting her go in such a miserable way?"
