Chapter 514 - 513: You Can Be This Clingy
Chapter 514 - 513: You Can Be This Clingy
Ever since the topic of boyfriends was brought up, Mu Qiu has been cautious with her words.
Qing Rong is a smart person. With just a simple reply from him, he understood she didn’t really want to discuss this with him, so he tactfully shifted to the main topic and started talking about his recent book signing event.
When talking about this, Mu Qiu had plenty to say, and the atmosphere grew harmonious again.
She always feels a bit odd when chatting with Qing Rong now.
On one hand, she knows that their chats and meetings, or anything else, fall within the scope of a normal friendship. It’s hard to find a kindred spirit, and she doesn’t want to unilaterally end the friendship because of her assumptions.
But on the other hand, due to some things Zhao Yu and Chen Song said, she feels somewhat uneasy, and whenever a topic related to Cheng Zhirang, or topics about men and feelings come up, she instinctively wants to avoid it, becoming overly cautious.
Perhaps Qing Rong is entirely innocent? Would it be fair to treat him coldly just because of someone else’s thoughtless speculations? That would certainly be disappointing for a friend.
Mu Qiu found an excuse to end the chat with Qing Rong, put down her phone, and lay on the sofa staring at the ceiling in a daze.
The program group chat was still pinging non-stop, while there were occasional voices from passersby outside.
She closed her eyes and lay down for a while, suddenly feeling that she was overthinking things.
She wasn’t dumb, nor did she plan to two-time. Qing Rong wasn’t dumb either; he understood what a friendship entails, and Cheng Zhirang was definitely not dumb. Though he was gentle, he definitely understood everything.
Thinking of Cheng Zhirang, she suddenly missed him a bit.
She opened her eyes, grabbed her phone and dialed his number.
The dial tone rang for a long time with no answer, probably because he was busy at work with his phone on silent.
Mu Qiu pursed her lips, ready to hang up, but unexpectedly, the call was answered at the last second.
"Hello?" His clear and pleasant voice was apparent amidst the slightly noisy background.
Mu Qiu’s lips curved up as she lay back down and, twirling her hair with her fingers, asked in a drawn-out voice, "Am I bothering you?"
"No, the photographer is just getting the venue ready again. What’s up?" he asked gently.
"I just miss you a little bit," she said straightforwardly, twisting her hair around nonstop, almost turning it into big curls.
Cheng Zhirang chuckled softly on the other end, "How about I come over tonight and take you to Half Mountain, okay? We’ll stay until Thursday, then head to my parents’ house from there."
"No way, too far."
"Then shall we go to Yishan?"
"Emm... I don’t want to leave my home."
"That place can also be your home. Assistant Liang just moved in the smart linked appliances. You liked them, didn’t you?"
Mu Qiu was slightly tempted.
"But I’ve already arranged this place to suit me perfectly."
Cheng Zhirang raised an eyebrow, precisely hitting the key point.
She seemed shaken.
"That place still has the things you set up before, and there’s plenty more waiting for you to arrange."
"......" Mu Qiu twirled her hair and, after resisting the temptation, reluctantly took a step back, "Then tomorrow, you come pick me up tomorrow."
"Alright. Do you want to have dinner together tonight?"
"I’m not thaaat clingy."
"You can be that clingy."
Mu Qiu pursed her lips and laughed silently, her eyes full of sparkle.
In the photo studio.
The photographer and the magazine director had just finished discussing the next shooting requirements with Chen Song and were about to call Cheng Zhirang over when they saw him holding his phone to his ear, smiling gently.
The top photographer specializing in shooting popular stars raised an eyebrow at Chen Song, gesturing with his eyes, asking, "Is he talking to his girlfriend?"
Chen Song: "Who else could it be? He doesn’t have that bad habit."
The photographer: "I’ve never seen him smile so tenderly. Normally, he’s courteous and refreshing like a spring breeze."
The magazine director, who had instructed the assistant to set up props, turned to join their conversation, adding a remark.
"Someone who’s in love is different—full of sweetness. Take how he accepts tissues from the shooting assistant. Each time, he looks down and thanks them, making the young assistant blush."
In the past, a casual thank you and a glance were all it took for him, the desirable bachelor, to charm others.
Now, when he casually smiles down, those around him can only assume he’s chatting with his girlfriend during this sweet romance. Chen Song, why not invite his girlfriend to shoot a couple’s video?"
Chen Song shook his head and said, "That probably won’t happen, I can’t decide that. If you really want a couple’s shoot, let him ask Mu Qiu."
The photographer laughed with a wink, "He can’t decide alone?"
"Is there anything that can be decided by one person? Plus, you don’t know Mu Qiu," Chen Song indicated towards Cheng Zhirang’s direction with a nod, then said, "His girlfriend has quite a strong personality."
Being able to drag someone and slam their head against the wall might not be called strong; perhaps that’s more like being violent. Cheng Zhirang wouldn’t bring her in for a couple’s magazine shoot without discussing it with her beforehand...
Cheng Zhirang’s hair looked easy to grab too.
"Strong personality?" The director was slightly surprised, "Our Cheng Meinan likes the strong type?"
"He likes someone like Mu Qiu," the photographer teased, "It’s not about liking a particular type, but when he meets that person, he likes her type, which happens to be strong."
Chen Song laughed along, "Zhang She, you have some experience, huh."
"Not much, just general experience, unlike you, Chen Song. I saw some gossip about you yesterday."
Chen Song’s expression stiffened.
She immediately stood up, waved to Cheng Zhirang, "Cheng Zhirang, time to move on to the next shooting segment."
The photographer tut-tutted.
Cheng Zhirang nodded, acknowledging her, then turned back to the phone and said, "I need to get back to work now. Rest well at home; the sun is quite harsh outside."
"Got it~"
"I’ll come by tomorrow to pick you up. What time would you like me to arrive?"
"Around lunchtime. I’ll make lunch for you~"
"Alright, thanks for the effort."
Surprisingly, there was still so much to say when hanging up. Cheng Zhirang continued the call as he returned to his work, finally ending the call once he reached the camera, handing the phone to Chen Song, and began cooperating with the photographer.
The photographer watched him for a while, pondering with the camera, and then suggested, "How about, Brother Cheng, we act out a scene from some text?"
"What text?"
The photographer immediately took out his phone, with Chen Song and the magazine director, still hanging around, also leaning in to look.
It was a segment from "Different Variety Show," and the speaker happened to be Mu Qiu. The phone’s speaker was turned on, and in the small shooting space, almost everyone could hear it.
"...Maybe it’s someone wearing a simple white shirt and black trousers, with a belt like those used for riding, casually playing with a silver lighter, stepping out from the dark corner, and lifting their eyes to look at everyone..."
