Chapter 488 - 487: Shu Ran Team’s Performance Room
Chapter 488 - 487: Shu Ran Team’s Performance Room
Snap—
Another beam of light fell, enveloping a temporarily constructed sample house, but the light was too intense to clearly see the situation inside.
The host refocused attention on himself, saying, "The performance order in this story live room will be arranged based on the completion level of each group. The performance time for each group is not fixed, but must not exceed thirty minutes.
Throughout the entire performance, actors must adhere to their respective Control Lock rules. After the performance ends, it will automatically jump to the next one, and the scoring will take place at the end.
These are the rules of this story live room. Before the performance begins, let me introduce the guiding instructors for this performance—
Professor Lin Gu from the Broadcasting and Hosting Department of Hai City Art College.
Professor Gu An from the Performance Department of Yun City Film Academy.
Famous actor Mr. An Daohong, famous actress Ms. Hu Jin, renowned director Mr. Luo Tan, and well-known producer Ms. Hong Yun!"
A round of applause rose in the darkness, as the light illuminated the right side of the host, where the six introduced individuals stood up briefly before the light vanished again.
"Alright, our esteemed instructors are in place, awaiting the performances of our three teams! I know you’ve all been eagerly anticipating this moment, so now, let’s welcome our first group of performers!"
The spotlight on the host faded, and the intense light on the sample house dimmed until only a faint glimmer remained, just enough to see the people inside clearly.
Shu Ran, dressed in a white Victorian lace dress trimmed with green she wore initially, held a small tray and stood inside a dimly lit room with only three walls.
On the tray lay a cup of dark red liquid, and Shu Ran’s face appeared ghostly pale under the dim light.
The room’s floor was dark redwood, the curtains also red, and the faint candlelight seemed to carry a crimson hue.
She walked stiffly into the room, step by slow step.
With each step, the room’s appearance grew clearer and more detailed on camera.
There was someone inside.
Further in was a platform elevated about twenty centimeters off the ground, where someone was bound by dark chains. The face was obscured, only the handcuffed hands visible.
Pale and slender.
"Is dinner here?"
The person uttered an eerie, mocking laugh.
Hearing this, the woman holding the tray shivered, gripping the tray’s edge with such force her knuckles turned white.
She dared not speak.
However, the person inside had a foul temper, and without a response, he lunged suddenly, causing the dark chains to clatter loudly.
"Speak!"
The woman trembled in fear and immediately opened her mouth, but could only produce incoherent sounds, her legs giving way as she knelt on the floor. The cup on the tray tipped over, spilling dark red liquid onto her dress, with some even spilling onto the platform.
A pale hand reached out, smearing the red liquid and then licking it off the fingertips.
"How awful. Come here."
The woman recoiled, wanting to retreat, but feared disobeying the person’s order, so she clutched her skirt and crawled forward bit by bit.
The camera and dim light followed her as she moved forward.
Then the woman’s neck was suddenly gripped by that person! She cried out in pain.
The person’s arm, along with the upper body emerging from the darkness, came into view.
Jiang Lu lowered his head, gripping Shu Ran’s neck, forcing her to raise her head. Yet even though she raised her head, it wasn’t enough; she had to scramble to her feet to comply with his strength, submissively being dragged along.
That pale hand, with a push at the base of the thumb, forced Shu Ran to raise her chin, her head tilted back, as she clung to his wicked hand, whimpering in pain.
"Aren’t you here to bring food?" he said in a low voice, deliberately making it sound even more sinister and malevolent.
"Mmm..." She shook her head vigorously.
"You don’t need to redo it, you’re just fine."
Then he exerted force abruptly, pulling her whole body up. His other hand held her head in place, as he bit down hard!
Two chains clanged together, producing a heavy sound.
The captive gradually lost the strength to struggle, blood dripping from the side of the neck. Before long, she was tossed to the ground like a rag.
Swallowing the last bite, he half-closed his eyes, his expression intoxicated, as his tongue darted out to lap away the blood on his lips.
"It’s always better fresh, but," he said again ominously, "it’s not cold."
The woman started trembling again, clutching her wounded neck, her beautiful Victorian dress stained with blood, and her disheveled hair sticking to her face because of her tears.
But after two seconds, she still gritted her teeth, offering up her wrist, the bluish veins looking fragile under the candlelight.
The man paused for a moment, the ferocious, sinister look from earlier momentarily turning a bit dazed as his eyes slightly widened.
Then he sneered, "This hand will break with a single bite. Take it away."
The woman obediently withdrew it.
The neck wound had stopped bleeding slowly, and as she released the hand pressing on the wound, the pain had dissipated.
He hadn’t bitten deeply.
"Is it his turn now?" the man resumed his malevolent tone.
She prostrated on the ground, cautiously pointing behind him, nodding.
The chains clattered noisily on the platform as he bowed his head back into the darkness, his voice puzzled, "He seems to be getting stronger. Did you give him blood too?"
The last question was accusatory, and the atmosphere seemed to freeze suddenly, pressing the woman flat against the ground, incapable of movement.
She shook her head fearfully, keeping it low, not daring to lift it.
So she didn’t see the elevated platform suddenly start to rotate, with the chained person reluctantly being turned along with the platform towards the back of the room, uttering angry yet desolate roars.
Until it completely turned away, the other side of the wall came into view.
A mellow voice sounded.
"Did he scare you again?"
The woman trembling on the ground then dared to look up, tear streams marking her pale face, looking very pitiful.
But upon seeing this person, her entire demeanor visibly brightened, relaxing and happy, smiling even with tears still on her face.
"Ah, ah." Unable to speak, she could only utter a few "ah ah" sounds to express her joy, laboriously getting up from the ground and moving closer to the man.
The light drew near, revealing that man too was bound with chains, but only one hand was tied, and his eyes were covered with a hastily tied black cloth, its edges tinged with blackish-red bloodstains.
Compared to the earlier person, although he was similarly situated in a sinister, dark corner and forced to kneel with chains, he only evoked an oddly incongruent word—serene.
Even vampires can be serene, enduring pain and hunger, yet treating her with gentle care and concern.
The woman moved closer voluntarily, wiping her wrist clean on her expensive skirt before extending it in front of him.
"Ah, ah."
"Are you alright? Did he not drink too much?"
The woman shook her head, extending her hand further.
The man hesitated a moment, sighed, and with his free pale hand emerging from the shadows, covered her eyes.
"It will hurt, bear with it."
