When the glow died down, a towering beast which no one dared to fight against appeared before them.

"Run! Abandon everything and just run!" The team leader immediately realised that they had no chance of defeating the evolved beast and exclaimed in panic.

The very next second, he turned in the opposite direction and started running as far away from the beast as possible.

His teammates immediately followed suit with frantic panic apparent on all their faces.

Because of their boisterous actions, the beast’s yellow, watermelon-sized pupils shifted towards them.

A heart-shuddering roar engulfed the entire forest, and not even a second had passed before the beast moved its huge arm and swept it in their direction.

Just when she was about to finish her words, the Ape slowly turned its head, its yellow eyes locking onto Gao Zhen.

Her entire body froze in fear when it happened. It wasn’t her alone, as both Zhou Lan and Xie Rou were also dead frozen from fright.

’What’s with their expressions?’ Yi Chen curiously turned around to follow the direction of their gazes and soon noticed that the Violent Black Ape’s eyes were locked in their direction.

"Ah, so it’s because of this." Yi Chen nodded in realisation.

The next instant, he raised his hand and waved it quickly to attract the ape’s attention towards himself.

He was successful as the Ape’s entire focus turned towards him the next second.

Their bodies finally relaxed once the Ape’s eyes were no longer locked on them. However, when Gao Zhen realised the reason for that and what Yi Chen was attempting to do, she couldn’t help but yell again.

"No! You can’t win against it! Run! You must run!" Gao Zhen’s piercing voice entered his ears the next second, which made Yi Chen turn towards her with an amused smile.

’While I appreciate the concern, Madam Gao... I’m trying to save you guys here...’

The Violet Black Ape roared angrily in irritation as its attention was pulled by Gao Zhen’s loud and, in its case, irritating voice.

It was only when Gao Zhen saw this that she began to regret her decision.

However, unlike their horrified expressions, a hint of mockery and ridicule appeared on Yi Chen’s face as he met the beast’s eyes.
