I Still Hate You

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

My insides twisted into knots as I watch Ethan flirting with some tall skinny kid. That guy looks like a teenager. What was he thinking?

Okay, maybe he wasn't actually a teenager. The bouncers in this club are pretty strict, and they always check IDs. But that's not the point! I still don't get why Ethan was showing some much interest in some random kid. It made me angry for some reason.

"Oh look, your boss found himself a victim," Jacob sniggered.

Shut the fuck up, Jacob...

"I thought you said he wasn't gay," Jacob added.

"He isn't?" I said. I wasn't so sure anymore as I saw him put his arms around that stranger. "Shh...they are coming," I said quickly.

"Hey guys, I want you to meet my new friend Roman," Ethan said. He was still hugging the guy close as if they've been best friends since childhood.

Roman smiled cheerfully. "It's nice to meet you lovely fellows. I saw Ethan from a distance, and I simply couldn't help myself. He is such a daddy!" he exclaimed.

Ethan? Daddy? Gross.

"I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that," I said quietly, but Jacob laughed, thinking I was joking.

"Roman and I are gonna go dance. How about it?" Ethan practically grabbed him by his collar and dragged him to the dance floor without waiting for his reply. Roman didn't seem to mind and looked happy as if he just found heaven. Sucker.

"Me too. Let's dance," I declared and dragged Jacob along.

I watched Ethan dancing, and I had to admit that the jerk was a good dancer. Why did he have to be so goddamn perfect? So unfair. For once, I needed him to make a fool of himself.

I saw a waiter walking near him with glasses of beer on a tray, and mischief took over me. I tripped the guy. He fell directly toward Ethan just like I planned. Ethan caught him immediately, but the damage was done. Beer spilled all over Ethan's shirt, and he was soaked. Serves him right.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" the waiter gasped.

"No worries. It was an accident," Ethan smiled and looked at me. I wondered if he suspected me.

The front of his shirt was entirely wet. I could feel my body heat rise as I looked at the outlines of his muscles and his nipples. I still loathed the guy, but I couldn't help having a physical reaction. The man looked like a sex god.

"Guess I'm gonna go clean myself up. Come with me Corey, " Ethan looked at me and smirked.

"What? Why do I have to come?" I protested. This wasn't part of my plan.

"Because you tripped the server," Ethan said casually. "It's your punishment."

"Excuse me, I don't appreciate you slandering me," I said.

"I'm not slandering you. I saw you. Now come with me to the bathroom," Ethan said.

"I don't wanna," I said, almost on the verge of throwing a tantrum. "These club bathrooms are nasty. And I have public restroom phobia."

"I'll come help you, baby," Roman cooed.

Yes, Roman. Take this Neanderthal away from me.

"No. I want Corey. You are coming with me." I shivered as he looked at me intensely. He wasn't playing around. Damn you to hell, Ethan.

I sighed. "I am not going in there. I live close by, so just come over to my apartment, and I'll give you a clean shirt," I blurted out. I instantly regretted it, but the words already came out of my mouth. At least Ally wasn't home to make fun of me for bringing the enemy home.

"Perfect, I'll get the car ready. Say goodbye to your friends," Ethan said and walked out. Rude.

The night was near the end anyway, so I didn't mind leaving. However, leaving the place with Ethan? I mind very much. I shouldn't have offered to take him to my place. That was stupid.

"Where to?" Ethan asked.

"It's only three blocks away, but you can't stay long!" I said hurriedly.

"Calm down Price. I'm not gonna bite you," Ethan chuckled.

We were there in less than 10 minutes. I felt anxious as I let him in. I've gone home with plenty of guys before, but this time, things were different. This was Ethan Miller, for fuck's sake!

"I...I'll go get you another shirt," I mumbled and went inside my room. The faster I give him what he wants, the faster he'll leave.

I came out of the room and almost tripped in my shoes. Ethan was lean towards a shelf, looking intently at some of my framed photographs. He had taken his shirt off, revealing his muscular back.

"Um...I got you a shirt, so hurry up and put it on," I barked. He turned around, and I couldn't help staring at his perfectly chiseled chest and abs. My eyes automatically trailed down to his jeans, which he wore low. I could see his V-shaped indentation. My weakness in men.

Stop staring, Corey, stop it. Just stop it! I screamed at myself in my head.

I threw the shirt at him. He caught it with ease then smirked at me devilishly. "What's the matter? Why are you so red?" he asked.

Fuck...he noticed.

"I'm not. Just put some clothes on and go home," my voice shook.

Ethan stepped closer to me, still not putting the shirt on. "Why are you acting so nervous? Am I turning you on?" he raised his eyebrows.

"Like hell. You do not affect me whatsoever," I lied.

"Yeah, right. You are practically drooling. So tell me, Price, am I still just as hot as I was in high school?" he winked.

Unfortunately for me, he was even hotter than he was in high school, but I'm not about to tell him that.

"Don't flatter yourself. And this is beyond inappropriate," I tried my hardest to sound firm, but my voice was betraying me.

Ethan threw the shirt on the floor and gripped my shoulder. "You've always been difficult," he said.

"What? Let go of me, Ethan. I don't have time for your games. And I am sleepy so..."

I gasped as he pushed me against the wall, caging me in.
