I Reincarnated as The Protagonist's Best Friend

Chapter 41: Daddy Gojo Strikes Again

Chapter 41: Daddy Gojo Strikes Again

Time passed, and the first day of the Ranking Battle concluded... for Quash that is. The Battle Halls are still packed with people. They are going crazy to improve their rank.

But by the time Quash clocked out, his rank has significantly improved.

[487,487]

Win Streak: 26

The win streak was slowly starting to take effect on his rank improvement. He also got promoted to 49th Battle Hall. And because of that, he had to say goodbye to Timothy and Gagon. But they have exchanged contact info before separating.

They would meet up later if they managed to get in that is.

After Quash left the Battle Hall, he went straight to the Inn. Alan and Elina were probably still in the Battle Halls. So he didn’t bother with finding them. He just went straight to his room, showered put on a new pair of clothes then left them foe the hotel staff to come and get it for laundry.

He had ordered food into his room because he was too lazy to go down and eat.

After a while, the food arrived, the staff neatly placed the food and the plate on the table then left. Quash scrolled through social media as he ate. And as expected. Everything was about the Academy City Ranking Battles.

The news channels only showing Higher Ranked Halls and good fights. That’s why there were no journalists near his Battle Halls because most of them are near the top 10 Battle Halls.

Quash watched the highlights while some channels did live, some interviews with the students. There was even an interview of Alan. He looked nervous and rigid. But tried to mask it by appearing brave.

The reason the journalists swarmed him wasn’t because of his fights, they were definitely impressive, but the main attraction was Pure Aura. They asked numerous questions and Pure Aura, his life style, his training regime, his family, his parents, their thoughts of him...

Basically every dime they could get from him for free.

And because of that, Quash couldn’t help but thank his luck that he was placed in this far back.

After Quash was done eating, he called in the staff to get the plates and do some light clean up.

Then he slept. He wasn’t particularly tired but he needed to wake up early. Because tomorrow, he needs to climb Higher and faster.

The next day, Quash woke up early as planned. The sun has yet to rise when he left the Inn. The morning breeze was cool and crisp, carrying a different kind of scent.

Quash arrived in front of the 49th Battle Hall. It was few blocks away from 51st Battle Hall. All of the Battle Halls were situated fairly close to each other so the students can reach them without much effort.

The scene in front of the 49th Battle Hall wasn’t that different from the 51st Battle Hall. Many vendors crowding in front of the Battle Hall to sell stuff. But the atmosphere here at the moment was quiet and down. The shift change was happening.

Quash ignored them and entered the Battle Hall. The inside was no different from the other Battle Halls out there. He registered himself on the Active List and went to the arena.

The bleachers weren’t full but there were at least thousands of people. But it was dead quiet in here. The dudes that had come here at the moment are the quite ones. The bunch who only comes out at night. Because of social anxiety, or avoidance, or something wrong with their head.

Quash walked around to find an empty seat. He found one after looking for a while but before he could walk towards the spot, the badge on his chest glowed, enveloped him in light and he disappeared.

"Mother...!"

Quash murmured in disbelief and irritation. His match started way sooner for some reason. Probably because of his high win streak. The Administrative Formation prioritised him over others.

But regardless of that, Quash pulled out his favourite weapon as of yet. The Bazooka. The match has started. And he was already locked on. He didn’t see his enemy. They have seemingly disappeared. Realising what is going on, he sprinted forward and put away the Bazooka because it was useless against an agile assassin.

Quash pulled out his Daddy Gojo build instead. He strapped it over his eyes and activated his Proprioception. A 3D map of his surroundings appeared on his head. Quash felt immense about of information enter his head. He could feel the dense Natural Energy around him, the ground, and a solitude moving at breakneck speed. They appeared behind him without making any sound, ready stab him in the neck.

But just as the dagger was about to peirce his neck, Quash enhanced his whole body and moved back a bit. The dagger missed and the assassins forearm hit Quash’s face. The assassin was about to pull away but Quash was faster. He grabbed him by the wrist, hurled him over his shoulder and slammed him into the ground with all his might.

Blood exploded out and the assassins body turned into a bloody mess before disappearing. Quash felt the warm blood all over him for a moment before it disappeared. Through his Proprioception, he saw something interesting which he couldn’t see with naked eye.

But before he could think further, he was pulled out as well. He reappeared on the spot he was pulled in from. He couldn’t help but sigh for some reason. He took off his Daddy Gojo build while shaking his head.

Quash still had no idea who his opponent was or what race they were from. But it didn’t really matter because they put on a decent fight. They were fast and had some skills for stealth.

But his Proprioception was stronger.

Quash turned around and walked away from that place to find another seat because the one he wanted to sit was occupied.

He found one not long after.
