I Really Didn’t Want to Be a Trainer

Chapter 769: The Super Demon God of Light: The Battle of Champions

Chapter 769: The Super Demon God of Light: The Battle of Champions

Rumble!

The sky nearly collapsed, huge chunks of it crumbling away to reveal black voids as spacetime convulsed violently.

The light wheels hung like six interdimensional gateways, hovering around the sky-blocking Super Demon Hoopa, slowly opening. Within them, silhouettes of Legendary Pokémon appeared.

The two champions looked up, cold sweat quietly beading on their brows.

Two rows of three portals each.

On the left, diamond-blue, pearl-red, and deep-gray light swirled, symbolizing time, space, and the Reversed World.

On the right, torrents, hail, and flames poured forth, symbolizing the Primordial Sea, the frozen world, and turbine fire.

Each of Super Demon Hoopa’s six hovering claws corresponded to a portal. It snorted in fury, and with a sweep of its hand, the outlines of the Legendary Pokémon became clearer!

Ash said, “That’s… Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina from Sinnoh’s myth!”

Steven’s blue hair fluttered in the gusts, he said in a deep voice:“And on the right… Primal Kyogre from Hoenn’s myth, and Kyurem and Reshiram from Unova’s myth!”

“These don’t look like fakes…”

The red-haired man’s cloak fluttered as he said, “They’re the real gods!”

“This is unbelievable… Lu Ye should’ve crushed all of these already!” A-Jin shouted.

Balza smiled wryly, “The Super Demon’s light wheels, also called ‘Dimensional Holes,’ can summon Legendary Pokémon from other dimensions… These Legendary Pokémon’s powers are not comparable to illusions made by the Unown totem;

these are real powers!”

Steven’s mind trembled.

This scene felt familiar.

Back at the top of the Sky Pillar, Teacher Lu had once summoned five dragon gods of this world.

If only he were here now…

Steven shook his head slightly and said, “Mr. Lance.”

“What?” Yu Long Du crossed his arms, his face severe.

Steven looked up at the sky, the perfect blue-haired noble with a resolute gaze:

“Let’s… intercept them together!”

Yu Long Du paused, looked at Steven—who did not appear to be joking—then turned and shouted:

“Ash, A-Jin—stay here, wait for Teacher Lu to return!”

“Senior Lance!” Ash shouted.

Seeing Yu Long Du and Steven run forward, they raised their hands and red light flashed as they leapt onto Dragonite and the white Metagross.

The blue-haired man knelt on one knee atop Metagross, his eyes deep;

his hair blew in the wind as he said, “It seems this is our first time working together, Mr. Lance.”

“Yes, then let me show you—”

Yu Long Du stared straight at the sky beast. His pupils pinched, exuding authority as he barked:

“The power of the Dragon Legion!!”

Light braided around Yu Long Du, three Kingdra circled Lance, and a white mist formed a “Mysterious Guard” that shrouded the Spire Plaza.

As the three Kingdra patrolled, moisture in the air was controlled by their orbs;

thunderclouds churned with lightning, rain, and gale winds.

Thunder rolled, raindrops swept across Lance’s stern face.

They couldn’t stop everything—but they had to fight.

Because the strongest human trainers were the league’s champions!

Super Demon Hoopa curled its mouth into a smirk and looked at the charging pair with mockery.

Lightning cracked across the sky, the pale bolts illuminating its fanged, blue face. Super Demon Hoopa laughed loudly:

“If you want to stop these guys, then give it a try!”

**

From the left row of three portals, Dialga’s diamond body blasted out first, followed by the pearl-inlaid Palkia.

The two nemeses launched at each other immediately.

Once present, Dialga reared its foreleg and unleashed the shockwave of Roar of Time. Palkia shrieked and sidestepped, swinging to slash a blade of Subspace Slash.

The shockwave smashed into the firmament, peeling away more fragments of sky;

the blade cut a skyscraper in two, and the obliterated pieces slowly rose into the air.

From the third portal on the left came a crimson gaze. Shadow surged out in a ghostly trajectory, repeatedly knocking Dialga and Palkia back.

Dialga and Palkia both craned their heads to look upward.

Giratina’s crimson eyes, beneath its platinum helmet, regarded the two coldly.

Palkia’s cry echoed through the night as it slashed a dazzling blade toward Giratina.

Dialga reared and roared, freezing the time around Giratina.

Boom!!

The blade erupted against the platinum body;

Giratina slipped into shadow and reappeared between Palkia and Dialga, a slit of crimson lighting up its gaze.

Palkia and Dialga turned to look, pupils constricting.

Swish!!

Giratina’s six platinum spikes shot out, stabbing both sides;

the sharp points pierced through both Pokémon simultaneously!

Palkia and Dialga’s bodies stiffened, mouths parting as crystalline shards leaked from their wounds.

In an instant they blinked away, separating distance, wounds steadily regenerating.

Roar of Time and Subspace Slash struck again, their dazzling light brightening the night!

On Spire Plaza, A-Jin shouted:

“Those three big ones have started fighting.”

Clemont’s fingers flew over his keyboard, sweat pouring down:

“The Sinnoh trio are clashing again due to the space-time collapse!”

“What… what should we do?” Serena asked.

A-Jin fell silent for a moment, then said, “Pokedex Holders, go fight with me… Student Councilor, Clemont, you two stay here and take care of the rest.”

“But—” Kris tried to object.

A-Jin put on goggles and gave a thumbs-up:

“Leave this little scene to me, Student Councilor!”

Crystal blinked, her cheeks slightly flushed.

“Your legs are trembling.” Silver said flatly.

“Shut up.” A-Jin snapped, “Don’t ruin my cool moment!”

The Sinnoh gods battled each other;

Ash shouted:

“More Legendary Pokémon are coming out!”

From the right three portals, torrential rain and hail tumbled together.

The three Kingdra froze midair, looking up at the monstrous forms under the canopy of sky with dread.

“The Kingdra wind-and-rain-thunder tactic… has failed.” Yu Long Du said.

“Don’t be discouraged, after all—this is the Primordial Sea!” Steven said.

Primal Kyogre flapped vast fins and brought down a deluge, hovering above the plaza;

Ash and the others could only see the white markings on its belly, its head hidden.

Kyurem also burst from a portal.

Furious Kyurem fired a Freeze-Dry beam at Hoopa. Super Demon Hoopa casually waved a hand and the Freeze-Dry, passing through a teleport ring, struck a skyscraper, instantly freezing it solid!

Pure, immaculate Reshiram beat its white wings and hovered, still trying to comprehend what was happening.

One portal landed oddly on the ground.

Scalding lava gushed forth, hissing into steam as land formed, rain pattering more gently.

The crimson-patterned, gargantuan Primal Groudon, beastlike and roaring, spewed heat from its surface, eyes wide, arms raised in a bellow!

Boom!!!

The Earth God, Primal Groudon!!

Kyurem and Reshiram surged forth with Freeze-Dry and Flare Blitz toward Super Demon Hoopa.

Hoopa opened a light ring.

Ice and flame shot through the portal and instead blasted toward Primal Groudon, exploding with a thunderous crash!

Primal Groudon howled in pain, opening its huge maw as heat waves surged.

Reshiram beat its immaculate wings, veering to avoid, and Fire Blast demolished a building, flames licking the sky.

Primal Groudon advanced into the city’s interior, lifting its head to Reshiram and sweeping a column of fire from its mouth.

Rumble!

Rows of explosions shook the entire city.

By now, Legendary Pokémon from all six portals stood in the skies above Wilder City.

And Primal Groudon stood on the ground, eyes blazing ferocity.

Night hung low, cries rose from the city center, and the scene carved itself into everyone’s memory.

The shock was hurricane-strong, the visual impact leaving people stunned, terrified, numb.

“I’ll head toward the city to stop Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.”

Steven shouted, “This side of the plaza is yours, Mr. Lance!”

Lance nodded hard and said solemnly, “Remember to come back.”

Steven smiled gently, squared his gaze, and barked:

“Metagross—High-Speed Movement!”

“Konkon!” Metagross tore a comet-like trail and rocketed toward the city center.

Lance steadied his breath.

The Sinnoh trio’s battle continued fiercely, and Super Demon Hoopa handled the pincer attack of Kyurem and Reshiram with ease.

“Dragonite, Dragon Pulse!” Lance roared.

“Wuu!!” Dragonite poured out purple dragonish energy from its mouth that exploded with a bang, whipping up black smoke.

Super Demon turned its head slightly toward Lance, tongue licking at the corner of its mouth, grinning broadly.

Not a scratch!

Lance’s pupils trembled.

Facing a sky-blocking Super Demon, even a Dragon Envoy felt fear.

But Lance exhaled, lifting his resolute eyes.

Steven has steeled himself—so have I!

“Kyurem, Reshiram!”

The two dragon gods turned back to look at the tiny humans in the center of the battlefield.

The red-haired man rode on Dragonite’s back, cloak snapping;

a radiant light of the Power of Viridian shimmered in his palm.

A gust blew and a strange force flowed into Kyurem and Reshiram, amplifying both.

The two dragon gods looked at the red-haired man in surprise.

Lance’s lips bled, his eyes set in grim determination as he sustained the Power of Viridian;

the faith of the Yu Long clan supported this Dragon Envoy.

Even legendary gods… are still… dragons…

“Both of you!!” the red-haired man roared, “Help me resolve the Super Demon’s crisis!!”

Power of Viridian? You too seek to command the dragon gods. Kyurem sneered.

Kyurem resisted the Power of Viridian within.

Lance coughed blood;

his cloak soaked crimson. His outstretched arm trembled, but a white light still bloomed in his palm.

“I have made many mistakes.”

Lance’s gaze was icy;

he gave a wry smile, “But this time, I will stand by my justice.”

Kyurem paused, its ferocity dimming slightly.

Reshiram’s gaze deepened as it quietly observed the red-haired man.

What is your justice? Reshiram asked.

Lance’s eyes wandered for a moment;

his cloak fluttered as he answered:

“My actions are my justice!”

Reshiram’s eyes moved.

Kyurem fell silent, sighed softly, and allowed the Power of Viridian to bathe it. Two purple beams sprang from its tail, enveloping Reshiram.

Reshiram turned into a white orb of light and flowed into Kyurem’s body;

the light of evolution exploded in the sky.

“Evolution… light…”

Super Demon Hoopa reined in its smile, clacking its teeth.

“Kyurem and Reshiram fused?!” Meyali cried in shock.

“This is—this is impossible!” Clemont said.

The light gradually faded.

A lofty, snowy dragon god with flowing white fur and silver armor was born, its tail connected to metallic energy conduits.

Everyone’s eyes shook. Kyurem and Reshiram had merged, birthing a new dragon god!

“Blaze-White Kyurem—”

As the words left his mouth, Lance felt the Power of Viridian and his life force drain rapidly;

this was the price of commanding a god.

Yu Long Du and the dragon gods shared a telepathic bond and acted without hesitation, shouting:

“Extreme Cold Flame!!”

Blaze-White Kyurem’s tail engine flashed wildly;

orange-red energy coursed through its conduits. White fur bathed in flame as a purple-red halo formed, extreme cold radiating outward. In an instant, purple-red beams laden with cold shot forth together!

“Roar!!!”

At the same moment, Blaze-White Kyurem’s core body plunged in a blaze of orange fire—diving down!

There were too many beams for Hoopa to teleport away. Super Demon Hoopa’s eyes flashed savagely;

a shadow sphere surged from the black hole in its chest.

Strong gravity twisted the energy beams into a mass, and the shadow sphere fired, detonating violently!

Boom!!

“Cough!” Lance spat blood.

Blaze-White Kyurem slammed into Hoopa with a bang, forcing it to step back half a pace, its snarl of displeasure audible.

“It made contact!” Clemont said.

“But… it’s still far from defeating Hoopa…” Meyali worried.

A swift shape suddenly streaked through the battle.

Hoopa raised its arm to block an Air Slash and looked over: Togekiss moved with agility and finesse.

“Come catch me, you ugly beast!” A-Jin pulled a face.

“Togekiss~!” Togekiss stuck out its tongue along with its trainer.

Super Demon Hoopa scowled, sweeping a hand toward a light wheel to try to crush the fairy.

A ring opened beside A-Jin, and a hand roared out from within!

“Watch out!!” Silver shouted.

In the nick of time, A-Jin bent down and hugged Togekiss’s back, craning his head up at the falling fist above his forehead, sweat pouring from his brow.

The fist clenched into a fist and slammed down!

Bang!!

A crow-like head was knocked into the air, colliding with Togekiss and absorbing the lethal blow, then fell from the sky.

“Thanks, buddy!” A-Jin waved to Silver.

Silver stood on the ground and released a Poké Ball’s red glow: “Say that to Honchkrow!”

“Senior Lance!!”

Ash craned his head up and shouted, “Palkia and Dialga are charging this way!”

Lance’s eyes were rimmed with blood;

he turned to look. Above Genesis Valley, the Sinnoh trio’s battlefield neared collapse and threatened to spread to the plaza and Wilder City.

But Lance, commanding Blaze-White Kyurem, was already at his limit!

“Hoopa! Strongest!” Super Demon Hoopa’s shadow sphere repelled Blaze-White Kyurem.

Lance’s eyes dulled, his arms trembling as he braced on Dragonite’s back.

Spacetime collapsing, lava floods, the Super Demon…

“I can’t handle all of this…” the red-haired man smiled bitterly.

A-Jin gritted his teeth and looked at the Sinnoh trio locked in battle.

If so, then I will be the one to stall those three!

“Togebro, use Air Slash on Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina—!” A-Jin shouted.

Togebro: “……”

A-Jin: “Hey, why aren’t you attacking?”

Togebro rolled its eyes at A-Jin.

I’m not stupid, and also your command level is awful.

A-Jin: ???

“Ash, Pikachu, Thunderbolt!” Ash called.

“Pika—chu!!”

Pikachu planted all four paws and unleashed a dazzling Thunderbolt that enveloped Dialga.

Giratina dove and slammed Dialga away, but its back was cleaved by a Subspace Slash, erupting in black smoke.

Dialga crashed to the ground, carving a massive crater, then rose and glared angrily at the plaza, mouth gathering Roar of Time.

Its target was Spire Plaza.

If Roar of Time disrupted the plaza’s time coordinates, Celebi and Teacher Lu would have difficulty returning!

Yu Long Du battled in the sky, striving to command Blaze-White Kyurem;

he could not provide support.

A-Jin and the others’ faces changed.

Balza and Meyali looked helpless.

“Fly around the sky, Garchomp!!!”

A shout came from the canopy. Everyone looked up and saw a brilliant streak of gold.

A black-clad, blond-haired woman crouched on Garchomp’s back, her hand on its fin;

her golden hair whipped in the wind and revealed determined gray eyes.

“Meteor Mash!!!”

“Kaaao!!!”

Garchomp roared and spewed a beam of dazzling red light that shattered into countless meteors, the fiery shower igniting the sky as meteors blazed!

Boom!!

Meteor Mash rained like a shower of falling stars, striking Dialga’s back one after another.

Dialga’s Roar of Time faltered!!

“Champion Cynthia!!” Ash and the others cried in delight.

Cynthia crouched on Garchomp’s back, black clothes and blond hair streaming in the wind. She faced the Sinnoh trio’s gods alone with calm confidence.

The black-clad blond woman’s mouth curved slightly as her gray eyes sharpened:

“I’m… starting to feel excited.”

Three battlefields, three champions!

Genesis Valley, Spire Plaza, Wilder City.

Cynthia, Lance, Steven!

As the Sinnoh trio fought each other, Cynthia’s job was to weave among them and ensure their conflict wouldn’t spill over to the other battlefields.

Ash and the others breathed easier for no particular reason.

Champion Cynthia had that kind of strange power—she seemed born confident, as if the word “defeat” didn’t exist in her dictionary!

“Garchomp, Swords Dance!” Cynthia said.

“Kaaao!!”

Garchomp streaked across the sky, its twin scythes flashing crimson as it slashed between Palkia and Dialga.

The two giants’ gazes were drawn to it, turning their attention away from the plaza toward Genesis Valley.

On the cliffs of Genesis Valley, a Meowth hot-air balloon was moored.

“What do we do, they’re looking this way!” James panicked.

“Quiet, meow, you’ll attract them!” Meowth urged.

Giratina drifted by like a ghost. Its crimson eyes beneath the platinum helmet sensed the anomaly and coldly regarded the Trio.

The trio froze against the cliff, clinging to the rock and nervously laughing, “We’re just passing by, passing by…”

Giratina focused a pitch-black, violent shadow sphere and hurled it with a roar!

The Trio’s faces turned pale.

“Wobbuffet, Counter!!” Jessie yelled.

They huddled behind Wobbuffet, tense, “Hold on, Wobbuffet!”

“Please, meow!”

Wobbuffet’s forehead glittered with sweat, “So-so-nan…”

Bang!!

The shadow sphere struck Wobbuffet’s body. Wobbuffet lit up with a rainbow sheen and with all its might:

“So-so-nan hiss!!!”

Wobbuffet bounced the shadow sphere back toward Giratina!

Giratina flinched.

Boom!!

The shadow sphere exploded on Giratina’s body, billowing black smoke!!

“Garchomp, over there—”

Cynthia’s gaze was drawn to a familiar silhouette, and she seemed slightly surprised.

The Trio survived, soaked in sweat and hugging each other in relief.

Garchomp hovered near the cliff;

Cynthia smiled, “I know you three…”

The Trio looked up dumbly.

“A talking Meowth… and your ice cream is really tasty!” Cynthia said with a smile.

“Now’s not the time for small talk, meow~” Meowth smiled wryly.

James and Jessie shrank behind Wobbuffet, panicking, “T-the three gods are all closing in!”

Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina formed an equilateral triangle in the air, confronting one another.

Cynthia set her hand to her chin, gray eyes flashing as she mused, “This actually fits my plan…”

“What plan?” the Trio asked trembling.

“Let’s work together.” Cynthia turned back and smiled, “If we stop the Sinnoh trio, they won’t spill over to Wilder City.”

Team Rocket: ???

Don’t smile like that while saying such terrifying things!

Wilder City.

A canal split the city in two. The Sea-Crossing Bridge’s steel cables rose into the sky as the bridge deck slowly descended under the shadow of a massive creature.

An ancient, enormous beast flapped its fins and wailed like a lonely whale;

its strokes brought down torrential rain, as it drifted through the city interior.

“Please go this way, to the underground shelter, hurry!”

Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy were organizing citizens to evacuate.

A little boy sat on rain-soaked steps crying. Lightning streaked the night sky as gale winds toppled a utility pole toward the child.

Bang!!

Sparks flew as Metagross’s iron fist snapped the pole in two.

The little boy looked up in bewilderment.

“Men don’t cry, you know.”

In the rain, a blue-haired man in a suit stood drenched;

water dripped from his hair and suit.

Lightning lit the scene like day;

his eyes were deep like sapphires.

He bent down and touched the top of the boy’s head, gently saying, “Men also can’t bear to see the ones they love cry, but things don’t always go as hoped.”

The boy stared up mutely.

A disheveled woman ran over, tears mixing with the rain, stooped and hugged the boy: “You child… you child!”

The boy still looked up at the blue-haired man.

The man had already turned his head, looking back at the night sky above the skyscrapers. The massive beast showed its form among the concrete forest, flapping its great fins and wailing.

“Protect your family.”

Steven stroked the boy’s head and smiled, “A man must protect others, understand?”

The boy stared blankly, then slowly light rose in his eyes as he nodded hard: “Yes!”

Wind swirled and rain pelted down;

lightning streaked overhead.

Steven looked at the mother and child heading to shelter. His shoes were soaked in rising water as he stood atop the dark city, his eyes glinting.

“Metagross.”

Steven looked up at Primal Kyogre.

“Konkon?” the white Metagross turned to Steven.

Steven’s gaze sharpened and the corner of his mouth curled:

“I’ll show you—who the strongest person is!”

Boom!!

A gust expelled as Metagross rocketed toward the city’s tallest skyscraper, the seven-star hotel.

Steven stood on the roof and scanned the city: the canal dividing it, Primal Groudon steaming on the west bank, Primal Kyogre raining on the east bank.

He looked at three small red-and-white spheres in his palm. Steven clenched them tight and then hurled them with stern eyes, his suit tails whipping.

The Three Regis formed a barrier possessing the power to block Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.

But it came at a cost.

Brilliant light burst forth—Regice, Regirock, Registeel—

The three pillars floated before Steven, crystals gleaming as they raised their arms.

Solidified light surged in their palms, forming a Light Screen barrier that covered the city center.

The night blossomed with a beautiful white light. Steven gazed at the barrier, smiling with helplessness:

“Even though I’m just a retired champion…”

Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre were isolated on either side of the Light Screen, raging as they faced off.

Immediately, columns of fire and water cannon blasts struck the light barrier!

Steven remained calm;

his sapphire eyes stared in the direction of Spire Plaza.

This was only to buy time;

it wouldn’t be enough…

Someone had to eliminate Super Demon Hoopa.

I’ll gamble everything to buy him and everyone else time…

Because I trust my partners… my comrades…

Because I trust Teacher Lu.

**

Above the plaza.

Blaze-White Kyurem’s silver armor was scorched and pitted;

it looked down at its chest as the Power of Viridian’s glow subsided.

“Is this… the end?” Blaze-White Kyurem asked.

It turned to the red-haired man perched on Dragonite’s back, its tone cold yet compassionate.

“Don’t be ridiculous.”

Lance’s pupils pinched like a dragon’s reversed scales.

“This is only just beginning!”

“Blaze-White Kyurem—use Extreme Cold Flame, cough!” the red-haired man coughed up a lot of blood.

This was the aftereffect of commanding a god—the price Lance paid to amplify Blaze-White Kyurem with his own Power of Viridian.

“There is no need to use ‘Extreme Cold Flame.’”

Blaze-White Kyurem said coolly, “There is no longer any possibility of stopping that thing.”

Lance flinched and looked toward Hoopa.

Super Demon Hoopa stood beneath thunderous strikes, its blue fanged face grinning as its injuries rapidly healed and its momentum climbed to a peak!

“Human fear becomes nourishment for the Super Demon. The more gods it summons, the greater the panic, the stronger Super Demon Hoopa grows.”

Blaze-White Kyurem said:

“It corresponds to no authority, merely symbolizing humans’ desires and darkness, yet it wields such astounding power… truly a self-inflicted sin.”

“You are right… but humans and Pokémon alike have emotions, wills, and bonds.”

Lance sat astride Dragonite, his cloak torn, and said calmly, “So I will keep fighting.”

“Whether you help or turn away to aid Hoopa, I will keep fighting.”

Yu Long Du’s red hair bristled as he shouted:

“Because I am the league’s champion! Battle—that is my justice!”

Genesis Valley.

Cynthia’s fair face was smudged with ash;

she propped her chin on her hand and watched the blue, red, and gray forms in the sky.

“Kaaao…” Garchomp’s eyes were bloodshot;

it panted, nearly spent.

“What strategy are you thinking of, meow?” Meowth rubbed its hands with a guilty smile.

“I’m thinking…” Cynthia mused, “perhaps we can use this world’s Sinnoh trio to counter the interdimensional Sinnoh trio.”

“But the timelines are collapsing here—Dialga couldn’t even come through!” James said.

“There is no Reversed World here.” Cynthia replied coolly, “We can leverage the Reversed World’s teleports.”

Her gray eyes flashed.

The contradictions among this world’s Giratina, Palkia, and Dialga were deep.

If she could regulate their conflicts and borrow Reversed World trainers…

Cynthia looked toward Spire Plaza.

If it were you… what would you do…

She closed her eyes and exhaled softly, then said in a steely voice:

“Can you still fight, Garchomp?”

“Kaaao!!” Garchomp’s eyes blazed as it reared and roared.

Cynthia’s lips twitched slightly.

Garchomp and I have fought together all this way;

we can’t stop here.

Because… I have a promise left unfulfilled.

I will go to Alola with Lu Ye!

Wilder City, the shelter.

Faces were full of fear, people clutching blankets and shivering.

A little boy gripped his mother’s cold hand;

she trembled.

“I’ll protect you.” The boy said seriously, “Just like Metagross and the big brother protected me.”

The mother paused and gave a weary smile, hugging the boy close.

Splash—

Rain torrents crashed on the east bank, washing at the Light Screen.

The west bank shook with earthquakes that made the barrier tremble.

Steven stood atop the city, singlehandedly maintaining the Three Regis barrier.

Crack, crack!

The Light Screen began to fracture. Steven’s pupils shrank as he looked skyward.

A massive ancient beast, Primal Kyogre’s head, pressed against the Light Screen’s crack and tried to force its way in;

the gap widened.

Crack! The Light Screen shattered! Primal Kyogre slipped into the barrier!

Wind and rain lashed, lightning forked, and Steven’s face looked almost pale in the daylight-like flashes.

Primal Kyogre’s huge head wedged in the broken portion of the barrier, facing Steven and baring sharp teeth in a grin.

On the west bank, the Light Screen melted under intense heat.

The crimson giant crashed through the barrier, steam billowing as it raised its head to roar!

Boom!!!

Super Demon Hoopa crossed its arms, bored, and opened its mouth:

“Hoopa thinks this is very uninteresting.”

Hoopa grinned wide with a grim smile:

“So Hoopa will pull out even stronger Pokémon!”

It waved a hand and the light wheels opened, surging with violent power.

Hoopa roared, “Hoopa—Lure-Lure!”

Rumble!!

More fragments peeled from the sky. Two portals opened, exuding interdimensional dark aura.

Ash’s eyes flickered as he looked up at the figures appearing in the sky, incredulous:

“That is… Lugia?!”

From the left wheel emerged a massive avian figure, its body black and pupils flashing red;

its great wings looked like black metal, radiating malevolent energy.

“No…” Silver said sternly, “That aura is not the Wind God Lugia.”

“It’s a Pokémon we’ve never seen before… a special form of Lugia!” Crystal said trembling.

A manufactured Pokémon from the third branch’s side series “Pokémon: Dark Whirlwind.”

Possessing a dark aura comparable to Yveltal’s—Dark Lugia!!

The black giant hovered in the left portal, crimson-eyed.

“What’s that on the right…” Ash said.

“This is incomprehensible, another interdimensional creature?!” Clemont exclaimed.

From the right portal came a terrifying form unlike anything seen before: humanoid, covered in armor with linked conduits, floating in midair.

Just standing there created a sense of dissonance and disorder as if this lifeform violated natural law and should never have existed.

“What is that?” Silver’s pupils shrank.

“It looks like Mewtwo, but—” Crystal said.

“But why is it armored!?” she added.

“Dedenne, I’m so scared…” Bonnie lowered her eyelids and hugged Dedenne tightly.

Two grim, terrifying Legendary Pokémon gave off endless dread as they hovered at the sides of Super Demon Hoopa.

The sky exposed black holes as interdimensional collisions occurred.

In the anime, Giovanni created “Armored Mewtwo,” but this world has never had an Armored Mewtwo program!

Whether this weaponized form is human-origin or Pokémon-origin—the very thought of the genetic implications causes nausea!

“The interdimensionally strong Pokémon even surprised Hoopa!”

Hoopa grinned: “But this proves one thing—Hoopa is the strongest!”

With a wave, Dark Lugia and Armored Mewtwo obeyed Hoopa’s command and flew toward the city on the brink of annihilation.

“A-Jin, Silver…”

Lance’s voice hoarse, he said faintly, “Go stop Lugia.”

A-Jin rode Togekiss closer: “But—”

“Go now!” Lance shouted, “You are Pokedex Holders, so you must be able to do it!”

A-Jin gritted his teeth and had Togekiss return to the plaza. He took Silver aboard and flew toward the city.

Spacetime turbulence rocked, but the plaza’s coordinates remained intact.

Super Demon laughed wildly, a sudden unease flashing across its face. It reined in its smile and stared at the plaza.

“What is this—”

Meyali and Balza’s golden pendants rose and hovered, surprising them.

A time rift opened, shimmering crystalline light flowing out and drawing every gaze.

The battlefield fell into a strange stillness, like the calm before a storm.

Super Demon Hoopa ground its teeth and stared at the time rift.

“That sound is…”

Ash and the others’ eyes lit with delight.

On the cliffs of the Vale of Transcendence, the black-clad blond woman seemed to notice something;

her mouth curved faintly.

A black-haired young man stepped slowly out of the time rift and drawled lazily:

“I’m back…”

So tired—just finished dealing with an ancient Super Demon;

all I want to do is sleep…

Little Hoopa slipped out from behind the black-haired young man’s shoulder and giggled, “Hoopa’s back too!”

Everyone fell silent.

“What are you all staring at?”

Lu Ye blinked slightly, “Is there something behind me?”

Ash and the others’ Adam’s apples bobbed;

they shook their heads, then nodded.

Lu Ye sensed the strange atmosphere and scratched his head.

The black-haired youth turned and blinked, then looked up.

The sky-blocking Super Demon Hoopa loomed even larger, more majestic, camped once more before them!

Lu Ye and the freed Hoopa stared at each other in silence.

Freed Hoopa: “……”

Teacher Lu: “……”

Teacher Lu remained calm, took out his notebook, and quickly jotted down:

December 1, overcast, Wilder City.

A-Jin broke the Punishment Jar and released Super Demon Hoopa.

I, Lu Ye, will remember this grudge!
