Chapter 74: Rewards of the Blast Serpent Core
A long series of notifications flooded the Celestial TV after the absorption of the Core. But Thane was too focused on the sensation of his body. His hand was now empty as the Blast Serpent’s core had vanished from his hands.
Within the Star in his Soul Realm, a great ring began to appear with the soul of the Serpent moving through it.
The immense increase of magic and power inside of him made Thane feel fully refreshed.
Even the wounds of the fire that drilled in his palms vanished as he felt refreshed and renewed.
The burns quickly disappeared as a powerful surge of life filled him.
Thane could feel the Core inside of him, and he looked into his Star.
Because his Mana and Spirit could now interact, he could somehow feel that there was a unifying power.
The mana in him used to only ’flow,’ and he could command it to travel, to move, and gather. But now, he feels that he could do so much more with the magic inside.
Fire appeared on his hands, and it began to swirl! Thane could use his spirit to alter the movements of the fire!
He could sense strange areas in his body where there were odd clogs and blockages.
Annoyed by these hindrances, Thane commanded the magic of Fire and wrapped it in Spirit to flow within his body.
Some parts of his body were immediately unclogged, and he could feel a flowing sensation as if his hands were numb and were starting to feel.
But many parts in his body remained clogged, and there was even slight pain when Thane pushed his mana.
His eyes frowned for a bit, and he decided to ignore the clogs as his Mana and Spirit could still flow in it.
"Strange... Why were there so many things in my body... that’s blocking the flow?" Thane was confused.
"... Eh. I don’t have time to ponder this. As long as I can cast spells... Hmm? Did my mana flow faster now with those few unclogged pieces? Maybe I should try to unblock more."
"I advise against it, master. There should be a channel in the Celestial TV that will help you fix that."
"You’re right. And I didn’t have time to deal with these blockages."
He then turned to the list of notifications on the TV.

[Cost: 3 SP]
[Harnesses Spirit Energy into a concentrated point and launches a powerful penetrating force. Adds 10% increase to overall damage output when striking and turns attacks into a piercing strike. Disrupts magic channeling. Your punches could now pierce a Brosnan.]
[Spirit Dispersing Deflection Strike - Level 4]
[Cost: 3 SP]
[Harnesses Spirit Energy and disperses it upon impact, creating a deflecting force. Can deflect arrows, attacks, and minor-grade spells. You can now bitch-slap weak energy attacks.]
[Skill Learned: Spirit Piercing Explosive Strike – Level 2]
[Cost: 10 SP]
[Harnesses Spirit Energy into a concentrated point to create a penetrating attack, and disperses the Spirit energy into an explosive strike. Adds a lethal strike to your attacks and increases damage output by 200%. At low levels, the chaotic flow of Spirit creates a terrifying backlash that will cause the user’s body to be greatly injured. Don’t use it if your cholesterol level is high.]

[Harnesses Spirit Energy and compresses it on one body part or limb. Adds a layer of defense to the selected part, increases vitality by 5%, and increases bodily regeneration by 2%. You can now harden your heart the next time a girl rejects you.]

The sealed soul of the Blast Serpent can be summoned for three seconds, dealing 30 damage directly to the target’s HP and bypassing all defenses. The serpent appears, remembers its unresolved feelings, and expresses them violently. At least not on you.
[Serpent Dominance Level 1]
[Cost: 5 SP]
Grants intimidation authority over serpents and snakes of lesser bloodlines. 30 percent chance to intimidate, 10 percent chance to control for five seconds, 1 percent chance to enslave. Basically, you’re Parseltongue. Not sure if you’d be in Slytherine, though. You’re a Hufflepuff if anything.

By converting Stamina and Vitality into localized reinforcement, the user can harden selected areas of the body into serpent scales. Reduces incoming physical and hardened magical damage by 20 points. Thankfully, no Molting.]
[Resist Fire - Level 1]
[By stabilizing internal heat distribution, the user mitigates fire damage by up to 10 points from flame-based attacks. Full immunity to self-generated fire effects. You may still panic when on fire, but now it is mostly emotional.]

[Cost: 3 MP/Second Channeling]
[Allows the user to channel blue flames using Mana. The Core autonomously generates one Blue Fire Bolt every 20 minutes, up to a maximum of five charges, each dealing 100 fire damage to HP. 1 Fire Bolt may be cast for 30 MP points. HADOUKEN!]
[Fire Feeder Level 1]
[The user can consume external heat sources using Blue Flames to replenish fire-aligned energy. Campfires, lava, and explosions are all now valid fuel inputs. Regenerates 1MP for every 1 Second of Absorption. This skill does not affect your Spice Tolerance.]

Thane read through it and began to test his abilities.
"Scale Skin..."
All of a sudden, the palms of his right hand hardened and became like scales!
Thane felt the Power from him leave.
His AP stat also shrank to 15/20.
He saw the stats, but then saw the strange [1/6] notification in the Core.
"Six cores... Aetherion theorized and set the standard of how many Cores a person can absorb in his lessons. The peak was Flawless at five cores. And I could... absorb six?" Thane marveled as he read the stats.
"Many people will kill you and harvest your core, master. You’d best keep this skill a secret."
"I know. But all those Red Chains will see their full horrors. After all, none is leaving this place alive. And that Wide Screen Projection skill... That’s interesting." Thane smiled.
"You plan to use it in combat?"
"It’s not urging me to, but the fact that I can means I have an illusion spell that would last for five seconds and be used every ten seconds. That’s a cheat." Thane laughed and smiled as the portal opened.
Thane walked through it and appeared in the fiery, molten cave once more.
"Maybe it’s the bloodlust of the snake, but why do I feel... excited to fight those guys?" Thane wondered as he raced outside the cave.
