Chapter 84: What Do You Mean I Can’t Sell it?!
Author’s Note: Hello, my lovely readers. Lord Frosty here. Writing the book so far has been a journey. It’s my first serious book, and I honestly didn’t know what I was doing. Hell, I still don’t know what I am doing or what is going to happen next.
I started this book with a rough idea in my head, and somehow, I ended up writing 100k words. That’s a major milestone I never thought I would cross when I started writing this. But somehow, here we are. I faced a lot of difficulties when I started writing this book. I lost my source of income, someone in my family got diagnosed with cancer and even more family troubles I can’t talk about.
But thanks to all your love, I was able to make it this far, and it gave me hope to keep going. So I just want to say thank you for all your love and support. The story of Emperor Woolie is just getting started, and we are not going to stop before we reach the other end of the shore!!
So without further ado:
Volume Two: The **** Wrecks Havoc!!
---------------------------
It was already nighttime when Raiden opened his eyes again.
He found himself sleeping in some kind of hospital bed, with an IV hooked onto his body. After opening his eyes, he tried to sit up, only to get hit with a feeling of unprecedented vertigo and weakness.
His whole body felt weak and hollow. Even breathing seemed like a Herculean task to him, as every single intake seemed to light his lungs on fire. He felt as if he wasn’t breathing air but small iron filings that were tearing up his insides.
"Anyone-Cough-Cough-anyone there?" Raiden tried to call out in a raspy voice.
"Woo? Woolie!!" An excited voice sounded out. Raiden felt something super heavy jump on top of his body, knocking air out of his lungs.
Hiss~
Raiden winced in pain as he saw Woolie jumping up and down on his body again and again while talking endlessly.
"Alright, stop Woolie, stop!! It hurts, okay?!" Raiden tried to shout, only to fail halfway as it hurt too much to talk.
"Woo Woolie Woo!!" You stupid human!! You were sleeping for so long! Emperor Woolie was feeling worried, okay?! Humph!!
( 。 •̀ ᴖ •́ 。)💢
Raiden looked at him properly, with bags and tears in his eyes. Raiden didn’t know how long he had been asleep for, but it was clear Woolie had been feeling nothing but worried for him.
His attitude softened a lot as he tried to console him.
"I am sorry for making you worry, buddy. Forgive me, okay?" Raiden moved his hand with difficulty and patted Woolie on his head, who closed his eyes in comfort.
Sshhh-clack.
"Ara Ara~ It looks like the champion is finally awake, you took your sweet time, huh. Darling~" A teasing voice sounded from as the sliding gate slipped open, one that Raiden could recognise anywhere.
"Hello, Miss Isadora!~ You look as beautiful as ever before~" Raiden spoke with difficulty as he tried to sit up once again before he failed to do so.
Finally, instead of struggling, he just lay down straight, staring at the ceiling with a resigned look on his face as he greeted her.
Isadora’s face curled up in amusement as she heard his words.
"You can’t even see me, Raiden. How do you know I look good?"
"Heh, it’s simple. No matter what you wear, you will always end up looking ravishing." Raiden spoke with conviction. He may not have learnt anything else in those nine days, but he did learn one thing: that no matter what, he must compliment this witch or who knows how she’ll end up torturing him.
Too bad he couldn’t beat her currently, or he would have whopped her arse already.
"Ara Ara~, You have such a sweet mouth as ever, my boy, ~" Her high heels clicked against the ground as she walked into his peripheral vision, finally giving him a good look at her.
She was wearing a deep-neck black dress today with a big pearl necklace, looking enchanting as ever.
After staring at her for a second, Raiden snapped out of it and asked,
"How long was I out for? Did the award ceremony end already?"
"Award ceremony?" An amused glint appeared in her eyes, as she looked at him.
"Boy, that award ceremony ended three days ago. You have been out for three days already; today is the 4th day."
"What?! Three days?!!" Raiden was shocked after hearing this.
"Yes, three days. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic you did, but you fainted right after your speech about Sarah and Woolie Textiles.
When we looked at your body, it was worse than a malnourished body. If we didn’t hook you up on time, you would be dead already. It was like something sucked the soul out of your body."
She cast a deep look at Woolie when she said it. Isadora remembered that cry of the wolf and the image that appeared in her mind that day. And she was sure it was connected to both of these rascals here. But she had no proof of it.
Anyways, no matter what, he was from their city, therefore he was one of their own.
"If the award ceremony is over, what about my reward?!" Raiden somehow got the energy from somewhere as he sat up and grabbed her hand, looking particularly concerned about it.
"Relax. Do you think such a big competition will cheat you out of your reward? The money has been deposited in your account already. As for the egg, we can claim it tomorrow morning." Isadora briefed him.
Raiden felt relieved hearing that news and fell back on his bed,
"By the way, I have another request," Raiden asked.
"Sure, what is it?"
"I don’t really want that Terra Beast egg. I want to sell it. I can sell it to you guys, or transfer the opportunity to you for Morgana. Don’t worry, I will quote a family-friendly price, just for you. What do you think?" Raiden smiled happily, thinking he could pay back a massive sum of loan.
But after not getting an answer for a minute, he looked at her, only to find her standing there with a weird expression on her face.
She hesitated for several seconds before speaking out:
"Don’t you know?? You can’t sell or transfer the egg or the opportunity. It can only be raised by you and you alone."
"Huh??? What Do You Mean I Can’t Sell it?!??"
