Chapter 97: Two and a Half Years Later
Chapter 97: Two and a Half Years Later
Su Yuan did not pay much attention to the changing global situation.
He had pushed for the unification of Blue Star from behind the scenes simply to better serve his own needs.
Otherwise, a single planet divided into hundreds of national factions? What kind of joke was that?
The mere thought of having his orders translated into hundreds of different languages felt incredibly inefficient.
"Back to practicing the spear."
Standing ten thousand meters in the sky, Su Yuan gripped his long spear and began his routine.
"The Power of Ultimate Yin..."
In a trance-like state, he sensed the Power of Ultimate Yin permeating the world and filling every corner of the Universe.
Compared to the vast, radiant, and dazzling Power of Ultimate Yang, the Power of Ultimate Yin seamlessly blended into all creation, omnipresent and formless.
Ultimate Yin and Ultimate Yang were intrinsically two extremes, conflicting yet mutually generating.Swish! Swish! Swish!
Every thrust of Su Yuan's spear carried enough force to tear through the air. If he were on the ground, this kinetic energy could easily pierce through several skyscrapers. Up here in the high atmosphere, however, the destructive might naturally dissipated after traveling dozens of kilometers.
And this was just the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin," which was not specialized for offense. If he switched to the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yang," where every strike mobilized the Power of Ultimate Yang between heaven and earth, the destructive force would increase by a massive margin.
That would be true city-destroying power.
Time flowed by, and two hours passed in the blink of an eye.
Su Yuan practiced the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin" over and over.
In the past, he would have stopped to rest by now. He understood the principle that going too far was as bad as falling short.
Practicing the spear for two hours followed by a thirty-minute break to summarize his insights—this was how to maximize his efficiency.
Today, however, Su Yuan continued to perform the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin" without the slightest intention of stopping.
This was because the gray mirror had informed him that upon practicing continuously for three hours and fifty-two minutes, his mastery over the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin" would receive a significant breakthrough.
This level of profound advancement far exceeded the speed of normal cultivation. It was known as an epiphany.
For any cultivator or evolver, an epiphany was a highly coveted state that could be encountered but never sought. During an epiphany, one's Comprehension dimension merged with the world, allowing their thoughts and insights to completely transcend their ordinary limits.
Many cultivators and evolvers would never experience a single epiphany in their entire lives.
But for Su Yuan, who possessed the gray mirror, this was not too rare of an occurrence. Over the past two to three years of cultivation, he had already used the gray mirror to seize two opportunities for an epiphany.
These two opportunities would have been practically impossible for other cultivators or evolvers to catch, as they disappeared in a flash. However, Su Yuan knew of them in advance, actively positioned himself for them, and successfully grasped them.
Right now, for instance, if he did not have the gray mirror, he would most likely have followed his usual habit of practicing for two hours and resting for half an hour.
In doing so, he would have completely missed the chance for an epiphany.
Only by continuously practicing the spear for exactly three hours and fifty-two minutes would he usher in this rare state of enlightenment.
Time continued to tick away, and soon, he hit the three-hour and fifty-two-minute mark.
At this moment, Su Yuan's mind was entirely immersed in the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin," sensing the endless Power of Ultimate Yin between heaven and earth. Right then—
Hum! In an instant, his mental state faintly entered the exact same resonant frequency as the boundless world, achieving a perfect harmony between mind and nature.
In just a few short seconds, his understanding of the "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin" skyrocketed.
"Phew!"
Su Yuan stopped his routine and stood tall with his spear, letting the fresh insights continuously flash through his mind.
The epiphany had only lasted a few seconds, but the benefit it brought him was immense.
A moment later.
Su Yuan consulted the gray mirror deep within his sea of consciousness, 'Latest physical data!'
[Life Level: Level 5 (1%)]
[Cultivation Method: Six-Dimensional Cultivation Method]
[Sacred Method: Mind Brand]
[Spear Technique: "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yang" Perfected]
[Spear Technique: "Thirty-six Forms of Ultimate Yin" Perfected]
[Power of Ultimate Yang: 25%]
[Power of Ultimate Yin: 24%]
[Combat Bonus: 520%]
"A smooth breakthrough."
Su Yuan glanced at the answer provided by the gray mirror, a smile spreading across his face.
In just a few seconds of epiphany, his comprehension of the Power of Ultimate Yin had risen from its original nineteen percent to twenty-four percent, while the Power of Ultimate Yang had also surged from twenty-two percent to twenty-five percent.
His combat bonus had even reached five hundred and twenty percent.
One should not underestimate a mere five percent increase in comprehension over the Power of Ultimate Yin.
As one of the fundamental forces of the Universe, the Power of Ultimate Yin could theoretically only be comprehended by a Starry Sky Lifeform.
Even so, it was incredibly difficult for a Starry Sky Lifeform to fully master any universal power. They might not even achieve it over thousands or tens of thousands of years.
Su Yuan had the guidance of the gray mirror and would not take any detours. Yet, even then, fully comprehending the Power of Ultimate Yang and Ultimate Yin solely on his own without external help would take over ninety years.
Five percent of more than ninety years equated to four or five years of grueling effort.
In other words, this brief epiphany lasting only a few seconds had saved him years of training.
"It is a pity that it was only a minor epiphany. If I encountered a true major epiphany, I would probably be able to completely master the Power of Ultimate Yin and Ultimate Yang right on the spot."
Su Yuan shook his head slightly.
Epiphanies were incredibly rare, but thanks to the gray mirror, Su Yuan understood a great deal about this state.
Among his knowledge was the distinction between minor and major epiphanies.
The essence of a minor epiphany was the cultivator's mind temporarily merging with the world, which typically only lasted a few seconds.
A major epiphany, on the other hand, involved a deep-level integration of the cultivator's mind with the world, lasting anywhere from a few days to several months.
To cultivators and evolvers, a minor epiphany was already something that could be met by chance but not actively sought, while a major epiphany was something they did not even know existed.
Su Yuan had learned from the gray mirror that in the Canglan Cosmic Human Empire—the empire Blue Star resided in—there had only been one hundred and two thousand, three hundred and twenty-one recorded instances of major epiphanies since the empire's founding.
The Canglan Cosmic Human Empire was a mid-tier cosmic empire with an incredibly vast Territory, having existed for trillions of years.
Across such an immense span of time and territorial space, only a hundred thousand major epiphanies had occurred? One could only imagine just how exceedingly rare they were.
Of course, from Su Yuan's perspective, the primary reason both minor and major epiphanies were so rare was that cultivators and evolvers simply failed to seize the opportunities.
"Unfortunately, my current strength is still too low. I cannot consciously control my mind to emit the same resonant frequency as the world."
Su Yuan gently shook his head.
The so-called epiphany was essentially the unification of one's mind with the world, allowing one to comprehend their personal bottlenecks from the elevated perspective of the universe itself.
It was like a doctoral student solving a kindergarten math problem.
The key to all of this was aligning the mind with the world.
And the bridge connecting one's mind to the world was its frequency. As long as one could control the vibrational frequency of their mind to match the world's frequency, they could maintain an epiphany as a permanent state.
The most difficult part of this process was knowing the world's exact vibrational frequency.
Naturally, this obstacle did not exist in Su Yuan's eyes. He could simply learn the specific vibrational frequency of the world from the gray mirror.
For Su Yuan, the real challenge lay in how to manipulate his own mental frequency to match the world's frequency.
"Back to the spear."
After resting for a moment, Su Yuan gripped his long spear and resumed his practice.
Making the state of epiphany permanent was incredibly difficult to achieve in the short term. Even though the gray mirror had solved the biggest problem and essentially spoon-fed him the answer, Su Yuan still needed to open his mouth to chew and swallow.
Imperial Capital of Xia Nation.
Inside a highly classified conference room.
"Everyone," Director Zhou said, scanning the room with surging emotions. "The successful establishment of the Blue Star Community Alliance today is a historic moment for us all, one destined to be recorded in the annals of history!"
As soon as he spoke.
The people in the conference room grew incredibly invigorated.
How many years had it been?
Xia Nation finally stood at the pinnacle of the world once again.
And this time, their supremacy was vastly different from what it had been hundreds or thousands of years ago.
Back then, truly ordering other countries around had still been an impossible task.
But now? The establishment of the Blue Star Community Alliance was no trivial matter. Every nation within the alliance had been required to surrender a massive amount of their sovereign power.
Changing the subject, Director Zhou declared, "Of course, all of this was bestowed upon us by that Lord. And regarding the Interstellar Colonial Ship arriving in two or three years... we absolutely must not underestimate it!"
Since Su Yuan had the power to make Xia Nation the leading state of the alliance, he could just as easily hand that position to any other country.
The attendees were highly intelligent individuals with clear heads. Coupled with the looming threat of the Interstellar Colonial Ship, their only thought right now was to pool together every ounce of strength they had.
A female director spoke up at this moment, "Rest assured, the manufacturing of the various weapons is proceeding smoothly. We are checking off every task that the Lord assigned to us one by one. There won't be any issues."
"The theoretical principles behind the weapons the Lord ordered us to build are too profound, and their destructive power is utterly terrifying. Some experts predict that these weapons have a high probability of causing a genuine impact on Blue Star itself."
Another director stated, his expression heavy.
Before Su Yuan, Nuclear Weapons had been the most destructive armaments on Blue Star.
However, Nuclear Weapons could, at best, threaten human nations. They possessed no real impact on Blue Star itself.
Even if ten thousand or a hundred thousand Nuclear Weapons detonated simultaneously, they would merely blast open a few kilometers or tens of kilometers into the earth's crust.
And on a planetary scale, such a minor depth would not even scrape the skin of the world.
Yet, as the manufacturing of the weapons Su Yuan had requested progressed into the later stages, the simulated yields of some of these devices left countless weapon experts trembling in fear.
"It is precisely because of this that we can deduce just how difficult the impending extraterrestrial force will be to deal with."
Director Zhou continued, "Therefore, we must fully cooperate with all of the Lord's commands and spare no effort."
"Director Zhou, I wonder what our chances of success are in dealing with this extraterrestrial faction..." The female director who spoke earlier revealed a hint of worry in her tone.
"Our chances?" Director Zhou looked around and noticed the others leaning in to listen. He immediately realized that this was a pressing concern for everyone present.
"I dare not guarantee what our odds are, but given that Lord's strategic mind, since he has chosen this path, he must possess absolute confidence. Otherwise, why wouldn't he just join The Truth Society and completely defect to the extraterrestrial faction?"
Director Zhou said slowly.
Hearing this, everyone's hearts settled significantly.
In truth, with their intellect, they could have easily deduced this logic themselves. It was simply that with the future of Xia Nation and the entirety of Blue Star on the line, it was inevitable for them to feel anxious and insecure.
"Alright, this meeting is adjourned. Everyone, return to your respective posts. No matter what the final outcome is, we have already done our utmost."
"We make our plans, but fate decides the outcome."
Director Zhou told the crowd.
"Understood."
The attendees nodded in acknowledgment.
Out in the Cosmic Starry Sky.
A cosmic vessel belonging to the Multi-eyed Clan was hurtling toward Blue Star at a speed infinitely close to the speed of light.
Captain Ochu glanced down at the status report transmitted from Blue Star, some two or three light-years away. After confirming that everything was normal, he gave a slight nod.
Propping up The Truth Society on Blue Star had been his decision. The objective was to secure the precious mineral veins they needed and to monitor all activities on the planet.
In Captain Ochu's eyes, the lifeforms on Blue Star were far too ignorant. Lacking even the slightest experience in deep underground mining, there was a high risk that the natives would inadvertently damage the veins his clan desired.
Although this possibility was slim—as the targeted veins were located extremely deep beneath the surface—what if the worst came to pass?
In any case, backing The Truth Society cost Captain Ochu absolutely nothing. He only had to transmit some obsolete technology that had long been phased out by the Canglan Cosmic Human Empire.
It was entirely effortless.
"Ochu, you're just too cautious. So much prudence just to take over a measly primitive planet?" mocked Captain Dothien from nearby.
"Exactly, Ochu, relax. The clan's experts analyzed that life-bearing planet a long time ago. It's nothing but a backward, primitive rock. Their technological level is abysmal, and their evolutionary progress is entirely negligible."
The third second-generation member of the Multi-eyed Clan chimed in.
If this mission to take over Blue Star held any real difficulty, the clan would never have sent the three of them over just to pad their resumes.
"True, I'm overthinking it," Ochu admitted after a moment of thought.
All three of them were Starry Sky Lifeforms. Ochu himself was a Level 11 Starry Sky Lifeform. Descending upon a primitive planet where the highest lifeforms capped at Level 3 was practically no different from gods descending from the heavens.
With the physique of a Starry Sky Lifeform, even if they simply stood perfectly still, the combined assault of all of Blue Star's strongest fighters and technological bombardments would pose absolutely no threat. Furthermore, Blue Star had already been thoroughly divided from within by The Truth Society, which Ochu had fostered.
It was absolutely foolproof.
"By the way, once we finish extracting the mineral veins we need, what should we do with the lifeforms on that planet?" the third second-generation Multi-eyed Clan member suddenly asked.
"What do you mean, 'what should we do'?" Dothien looked over at Captain Ochu.
For this mission to take over Blue Star, Captain Ochu was the one in charge and the bearer of the clan's upper echelons' will.
"What else is there to do?" Captain Ochu swept his gaze over the two and shook his head. "Naturally, we cleanse the planet completely. Otherwise, if the Canglan Cosmic Human Empire eventually finds out that our Multi-eyed Clan violated the Life-bearing Planet Protection Act, who among us is going to shoulder the blame?"
While violating the Life-bearing Planet Protection Act would result in, at worst, a massive fine that wouldn't shake the Multi-eyed Clan's foundations, it was best to avoid paying it if they could.
Moreover, leaving a bad impression on the Canglan Cosmic Human Empire over a matter like this would be detrimental to them in the long run.
"Then let's cleanse it."
Dothien nodded, and the other second-generation Multi-eyed Clan member voiced no objections either.
To them, slaughtering all the lifeforms on a life-bearing planet was no different from stepping on an ant by the side of the road.
And from a cosmic perspective, this was indeed the truth—there was hardly anything on Blue Star that even qualified as a true lifeform.
Time flowed relentlessly onward.
In the blink of an eye, two and a half years had passed.
