Chapter 127: Clearing the Perimeter for Future Family Visit -1-
Eren had been going back and forth for four days.
Every morning he woke up in Evon, waited for the Dungeon Heart Fragment to recharge to half and opened a portal to Earth. Shopping runs, bank visits, fixing the upstairs toilet that Rosa said was making a sound like a dying animal.
And one very long afternoon where he had to physically stop three elderly elves from unscrewing the back panel of the microwave because they wanted to study the fire inside it.
Emily was handling the Earth side way better than he expected. She claimed the master bedroom on day one and turned the couch into a language lab. Every morning she sat cross-legged with her fruit bowl watching Turkish daytime dramas at full volume. Her Elvish-accented Turkish was getting funnier by the day but she was genuinely picking up words. Yesterday she said "tamam" with such confidence that Rosa actually applauded her.
I miss her already. That woman sat on the couch yesterday wearing my mom’s old grey sweater with her belly showing at the bottom and I almost cancelled the whole trip just to stay next to her.
Mel and Nimbo had their assignments too. Nimbo was learning the washing machine from Rosa. Mel had moved past the game console phase and got obsessed with cooking videos on the old laptop.
She burned rice twice and set off the smoke detector at three in the morning trying to bake something she kept calling "cake" even though the result looked like a charcoal brick.
Eren had no idea how the hell that smoke detector was working after maybe 10 years of put onto the kitchen. It was his mother’s idea a long time ago and he forgot about it’s existence actually.
It was a huge shock they they said it worked.
God damn, it must be a good device. Or my father was changing it’s batteries and making sure of it’s functionality.
The elder elves were the real surprise in this chaotic environment.
Galadrim for example, she figured out the electric kettle the light switches and indoor plumbing within few days without anyone teaching her a single thing. She just watched Rosa and copied her actions.
When Eren asked her how she adapted so fast she gave him a look that probably translated to something like "I survived a hundred and forty years without your nonsense buttons. The button isn’t the hard part. Why you need twenty of them for one kitchen is the hard part!"
She had a attitude but Eren didn’t care and just laughed.
But after seeing all of this for days, Eren knew that the Earth side was handled perfectly.
Rosa and Emily had it under control. Today he was staying in Evon all day. No portals, no toilet repairs, no babysitting.
..
Eren stood at the northern barricade at six in the morning with the kobold scimitars on his belt and the hunting bow on his back. The forest around the village was so quiet that his own breathing sounded loud and he liked that. It meant everything out there already knew he was coming.
He rolled his neck until something cracked and started jogging south toward the treeline. His legs moved on their own and his feet found the right spots on the uneven ground without him looking down. Since the day Emily got hurt and he snapped, his body stopped working like a human body. The elf side took over the wiring and never gave it back.
He used to think about how to move. Which foot goes where, how much force his arm should use, where his balance sits. Now his body just did it. The way Emily just knew how to position her hips before a katana strike, the way Rury just knew the angle to tear a tendon. That was him now too. Instinct, not calculation.
His old body had been like driving his dad’s ancient Fiat Palio with the handbrake half-stuck and the steering pulling left. Same car but after the bloodline awakening someone rebuilt the engine and took all the safety limiters off. He was maybe nine or ten times stronger than a normal man from Earth and every gram of that strength responded the instant he wanted it to.
If my old karate teacher saw me now he would cry. I quit after two lessons because the warm-up made me puke.
He hit the treeline and the first slime appeared within thirty seconds. Level 8-12 forest variants with hardened cores buried deep inside. A month ago they would have been a real problem but now his fist went through the first one before it even finished wobbling. The core popped in his hand like a grape.
The second and third he kicked because honestly his legs had more raw power and the impact sent green chunks flying up into the canopy above.
The fourth one latched onto his ankle and he just pulled his foot out like stepping out of mud. The membrane tore like wet tissue and he crushed the core under his heel.

I screamed and ran from one of these on my second day here. Actually screamed. Like a little girl at a horror movie.
He wiped the green gunk off his arm with a handful of leaves and kept moving deeper into the forest. Cave bats under a fallen oak scattered from a single thrown stone. Two Level 15 wild cats bolted the second they smelled him coming and a pair of feral rabbits with oversized teeth tried to jump him from a bush. He killed both with his bare hands before he even registered what they were.
The Running skill at Level 7 made his feet hit the ground differently now, breathing synced with stride automatically, body leaning into turns at angles that would snap a normal human’s ankle.
Between kills he practiced the scimitars. Not because he needed them for anything below Level 20 but because Combat Mastery corrected his grip in real time and every swing was a free lesson. The passive felt like someone gently nudging his fingers into the right position, adjusting the angle of his wrist half a degree before each cut.
About two kilometers southeast he found three Rotwood Trolls shambling through a clearing. Level 16, 17 and 18. A month ago one of these nearly killed him and both wolf cubs.
He drew the scimitars and ran straight at them.
The first troll swung a massive wooden arm and Eren sidestepped it without slowing down. He drove both blades into the thing’s midsection and twisted them apart. The troll split open like a rotten melon and hit the ground in two pieces.
The second one’s poison aura washed over him and his Poison Resistance ate it. Level 7 turned what used to be a burning death cloud into a mild itch behind his eyes that went away in two seconds. He closed the distance and took the thing’s head off with a single horizontal cut.
He activated Lovely Eyes on the third troll while it was still staring at the first one’s corpse. Pink-tinted pupils, two seconds of frozen confusion. He put both blades through its chest before the charm wore off.
