Chapter 138 - 136: Stay Right Here, and Don’t Anyone Leave

Chapter 138 - 136: Stay Right Here, and Don’t Anyone Leave

At the restaurant entrance.

Mia Grant opened the car door, and Ian Sinclair shoved Felix Sinclair inside.

His rough movements made Mia Grant frown.

"Alright, alright, just go and drive." She pulled him away and bent over, ready to get in the car herself.

Suddenly, an arm grabbed hers.

Mia Grant was forced to pull her leg back out of the car. Turning around, she looked at Ian Sinclair strangely. "What are you doing?"

Ian Sinclair jutted his chin toward the front. "You’re sitting in the passenger seat."

"..." Mia Grant glanced at the passenger seat and instantly understood what he meant.

She looked down at the young man leaning back in the rear seat with his eyes closed and wore a troubled expression.

"No way. He doesn’t look well. He’s definitely going to throw up later."

"So let him throw up. It’s his car, anyway," Ian Sinclair snorted.

Mia Grant twisted his ear. "What if he chokes on it? He’s your brother!"

Ian Sinclair yelped in pain but didn’t give up. "I’ll just drive slower. You have to sit up front. I just got my license not long ago, and I’m scared to drive alone."

The corner of Mia Grant’s mouth twitched. She turned to look at the endless stream of traffic. They were on a busy stretch of road, and the traffic situation really wasn’t ideal.

"Fine. Just drive slowly."

Mia Grant leaned over to buckle Felix Sinclair’s seatbelt. Before leaving, she gently poked his cheek with her index finger and whispered, "You be a good boy and sit back here, okay? I’ll be right up front. Make sure to call me if you don’t feel well."

Inside the dim car, Felix Sinclair lifted his gaze, his dark pupils locking onto her figure.

After a long moment, he gave a slightly sluggish nod. "Okay."

Mia Grant’s lips curved into a soft smile as she gently patted his head.

The car door closed.

Mia Grant turned to face Ian Sinclair’s resentful glare.

"Done being all lovey-dovey?" the little puppy asked sourly.

Mia Grant rolled her eyes, walked around him, and got into the passenger seat. Ever since the first round of Truth or Dare ended, the little puppy’s dark streak had subsided quite a bit, so he was no longer a threat to her.

On the roadside, the little puppy ground his back teeth, then opened the door and got in the car.

At this hour, it wasn’t a good idea to head back to the dorms.

Ian Sinclair changed the navigation destination and slowly got on the road.

Even though he was driving at a snail’s pace, Mia Grant was still worried about Felix Sinclair and kept looking back.

In the flickering, hazy light from outside, she could see Felix Sinclair in the back row. He looked like he was asleep, sitting there quietly with his eyes shut tight.

A closer look, however, made it seem like he was in class—his posture was perfectly straight, his brow was slightly furrowed, and his lips were pressed into a flat line.

He didn’t look comfortable.

She thought her own alcohol tolerance was pathetic, but she never expected to meet someone even worse.

The nth time she turned around, Ian Sinclair finally lost his patience.

"Sit still. Why do you keep fidgeting?"

"I’m just worried he’s going to throw up."

The little puppy replied pitifully, "But you didn’t have to look back twelve times in five minutes."

Mia Grant was speechless. She hadn’t even realized she was doing it that often.

"He can’t handle his alcohol. It’s not like you don’t know that."

"I know, but how do *you* know?"

"..."

Ian Sinclair watched her from the corner of his eye. "I’ve been meaning to ask you. You seem to know exactly how bad his alcohol tolerance is, which is why you were so afraid to let him drink."

"Otherwise, you wouldn’t have..." Mentioning her "heroic deed" in the private room earlier, the little puppy pouted. He glanced at her for a few seconds, then his gaze shifted to the rearview mirror, looking like he wanted to eat someone alive.

He knew they had probably kissed hundreds of times in private, and maybe even done more intimate things.

But seeing it with his own eyes was a completely different feeling from just imagining it.

Even if it was through a piece of tissue paper.

Even if it was just a light press, with no depth, no entanglement.

But he was still jealous.

’How could you share something you cherish?’

The little puppy couldn’t convince himself otherwise.

But the little puppy also understood that in matters like this, he was at a disadvantage.

There were only two paths before him.

Either pretend he hadn’t seen anything and knew nothing.

Or... tear apart all his rivals.

Just like how a wolf pack can only have one alpha.

And so, he could only be a little puppy.

At this point, Mia Grant couldn’t help but reminisce.

"He doesn’t even touch a wine glass at home during the holidays. So how do you know?"

The little puppy was still pressing her.

He always felt there were many stories between them that he didn’t know.

And as it turned out, his intuition was right.

Back in their third year of high school, Mia Grant would often go see Felix Sinclair. Over time, she got to know his deskmate as well.

Felix Sinclair’s deskmate was a particularly lively boy who had transferred from the south. He was round and chubby, so everyone gave him the nickname Xiao Pang.

Whenever Mia Grant showed up, he would voluntarily give up his seat. "You guys chat. I’m off to the school store, hehehe."

"Thanks~" Gradually, she started bringing Xiao Pang some snacks now and then to show her gratitude.

Later, for Xiao Pang’s birthday, he invited some classmates, which of course included his deskmate, Felix Sinclair. And also her, from the class next door.

Ian Sinclair didn’t know about this.

At the time, he was busy preparing for the city’s inter-school basketball tournament and was never around.

That night, she went with Felix Sinclair to Xiao Pang’s birthday party.

Xiao Pang was popular, so the private room was packed with people.

She didn’t know anyone else well, so she could only sit with Felix Sinclair.

At first, they were just celebrating the birthday, eating, and playing games. Later, she didn’t know who, but someone ordered alcohol.

She secretly took a sip and thought it tasted pretty good.

When she wanted to drink more, Felix Sinclair took the glass away.

"What are you doing?"

"You can’t drink this."

"But they’re all drinking."

"They’re them. You’re not allowed."

"..."

"My tolerance is okay."

He held the glass and dodged her hand.

"But I already had a sip! It’ll be a waste if we don’t finish the rest. Give it to me, one more sip won’t make a difference!"

She didn’t know why, but somehow, the rest of the alcohol in the glass ended up in his stomach.

She stared blankly as he downed it in one go.

Her gaze was fixed on that glass for a long time, lost in a daze.

She was completely absorbed by the fact that they had just had an indirect kiss and couldn’t pull herself out of it. By the time she snapped back to reality, Felix Sinclair seemed to be drunk already.

Why just "seemed"?

Because he looked no different than usual.

His voice was clear, and his movements were just as steady and gentle as always.

But he had one fatal flaw: his face would turn red after drinking.

As time passed and the alcohol took effect, his eyes gradually grew cloudy, and his reactions slowed down.

When she called his name, he would seem dazed for a moment before slowly lifting his head to look at her.

She looked at him, and they held each other’s gaze for a long time, until she tilted her head in confusion and asked, "Are you drunk?"

Felix Sinclair nodded, processed the question, then gently shook his head. "No."

Okay, he was definitely drunk.

She just hadn’t expected him to be so... adorable when he was drunk.

She started to get up to grab a towel, but he caught her hand.

"I’m going to get a towel to wipe your face."

Felix Sinclair looked at her, carefully trying to place her voice, then shook his head again. "I’m fine. You stay seated."

He obediently sat up straight. "I’ll stay seated too."

"We’ll just stay here."

"Nobody leaves."
