Chapter 952 502: Survive Ten Days? More Like Ten Days of Havoc

Chapter 952 502: Survive Ten Days? More Like Ten Days of Havoc

So he has to try it today.

Shura's expression changed slightly, but before he could say anything, he saw Gu Shanhai directly setting up a pot and burning water in the corridor.

"Come on, into the pot." Gu Shanhai was incredibly fast—he had already put the ingredients in, turning it into soup.

The Great Heaven Entity was very decisive and immediately put the blood into the pot.

"We can't have spicy hot pot, not enough ingredients. Let's have a snack, duck blood vermicelli soup first." Gu Shanhai said, as he began to add vermicelli.

A fragrant aroma wafted out, making the two of them involuntarily swallow.

Shura was a bit more reserved, but the Great Heaven Entity quickly released his wife, who seemed like a fragile woman from the Jiangnan water towns; the ghost couple were unreserved, each holding a big bowl and waiting at the side.

"My wife, Cui Yingying." The Great Heaven Entity introduced briefly.

Cui Yingying gave a reserved smile.

Gu Shanhai nodded in response. Don't be fooled by Cui Yingying's soft exterior; if it came to fighting, she would definitely be a terrifying force.

Shura also reacted at this time, though he looked somewhat embarrassed.

Unlike the Great Heaven Entity and Cui Yingying, who came prepared with bowls and chopsticks, he had long stopped eating, fasting for years. He rarely consumed anything, not even attribute-boosting items or pills, directly using them from his inventory instead.

But the aroma was too enticing, so he shamelessly moved closer.

He planned to wait until Gu Shanhai and the Great Heaven Entity had their servings before eating straight from the pot.

The duck blood vermicelli soup was soon ready, and Gu Shanhai served a large bowl to the Great Heaven Entity, Cui Yingying, and himself, then handed the pot to Shura.

"Fresh, really fresh." The Great Heaven Entity took a sip and then noticed a considerable increase in his attributes, making his eyes brighten.

The same applied to Shura, so he gulped it down quickly.

"Slow down, no one's going to steal it from you two." Gu Shanhai was a bit speechless as he watched the two of them and the ghost devouring the food.

Such a large bowl, gone in just three or five bites.

"Ah, delicious, too bad there's not enough duck blood." The Great Heaven Entity said regretfully, and then put Cui Yingying back into the Netherworld Half-plane within himself.

"Yeah, true."

"I've discovered something, these weird entities aren't rule-based; they're more like ghosts. They feel fear and dread, oh, and crucially, they don't seem very threatening."

Shura echoed the sentiment before adding, "And it seems like they're broadcasting live?"

"Live streaming? Ghosts streaming live? For whom, other ghosts?" The Great Heaven Entity found this intriguing.

"I know some similar examples, like survival shows where people are thrown into zones full of strange entities to complete tasks, and it's broadcast to viewers."

"But throwing ghosts into human communities for survival seems kind of off." Gu Shanhai remarked cynically.

Initially, when Gu Shanhai learned this place was rule-based strangeness, he thought Shura's skill would flourish here, but things didn't develop as he imagined. They seemed to be the villains, and those ghosts were here to survive.

"Probably not, think about it, we're supposed to survive here for ten days. It's called survival, it can't be that simple."

"So I think maybe the ghost's just too weak." The Great Heaven Entity said, picking his teeth nonchalantly, then asked, "What are we having for dinner tonight?"

"Let's see what ingredients we find later." Gu Shanhai easily got sidetracked by the Great Heaven Entity.

"How about hot pot then?" Shura added, "No wait, wrong focus, we should hurry to uncover the world's narrative—we only have ten days."

"Alright then, since we have time, let's split up." Gu Shanhai said earnestly.

"Huh? Seen this scenario before: we split up and get picked off one by one until we're wiped out." The Great Heaven Entity pondered this familiar pattern he's seen quite a bit.

The three chatted idly as they walked down the corridor.

They discovered something interesting: this apartment building housed not only ghosts, but normal people too.

However, since it was night, everyone was asleep, making it a realm of ghosts.

"I'm sure now; the ghosts really are afraid of us, but it's uncertain if they're afraid of humans." Shura chimed in with his observation.

This fear likely stemmed from the trio's bizarre behavior—the Great Heaven Entity used unknown blood as a cooking ingredient, Gu Shanhai dared to use it in the pot, and most critically, they dared to eat it.

This scene was as unsettling as if three ghosts peeled off a live human's skin and bones in front of people, then fried and ate them.

"The building isn't fully occupied, with thirty human households and only ten ghost households." The Great Heaven Entity added.

The building could house sixty families, humans or ghosts alike, and a household could comprise multiple members.

Gu Shanhai suddenly stopped walking.

"You said having hot pot for dinner, right?" Gu Shanhai suddenly spoke as they stood in front of an apartment door.

"Not a good idea, they haven't provoked us, let's not stir up trouble." Shura said with his mouth, but still drew his impressive looking long sword.

The Great Heaven Entity's Netherworld aura emerged, advancing without hesitation, about to open the door.

"Open the door, come on, you've got the guts to steal a man, you've got the guts to open the door." The Great Heaven Entity banged on the door repeatedly with overpowering strength, causing the building to tremble.

Eerily, the door remained steadfast, no matter how hard it was hit, it wouldn't break.

"They have rules for protection. As long as they hide in the room and don't open the door, we can't do anything to them." Shura looked grim.

Meanwhile, Gu Shanhai casually opened the neighboring door.

"Ghosts are protected; humans lack this protection." Gu Shanhai peeked inside, seeing a normal family of three, then closed the door.

The Great Heaven Entity also stopped and looked surprised, "So humans and ghosts' roles are reversed?"

Ghosts harming humans was something he'd heard of often, but humans harming ghosts was unprecedented for him.

"How do we complete this? Or have we accepted the ghosts' mission?" The Great Heaven Entity was puzzled.

They're supposed to survive ten days—sounds ridiculous! Without the protection rules, they'd cook all the ghosts the first night.

"Very possible, some entity harming ghosts might've labeled us as ghosts." Shura added, his information indicating they received plenty of intel, but little relating to deeper undercurrents, more about ghosts.

"So what do we do?" Gu Shanhai wondered if they could lure the ghosts out for a meal.

He could break these protection rules, but due to the unusual nature of this task, caution was wise.

Anyway, it's just ten days; opportunities to eat will come again. Admittedly, the ghosts taste pretty good—he considered raising a batch for harvesting meat.

"Let's explore further, see if we find other ingredients." The Great Heaven Entity suggested since it was still early, and he hadn't slept yet.

"Alright, let's gather some intel." Shura agreed without hesitation.

"Come, walk off the meal." Gu Shanhai was indifferent, as most of his focus remained on studying civilization seeds and learning "world self-growth," leaving only a sliver of attention outside. This way, he balanced between strengthening himself and finding amusement.
