Chapter 304 : Fattening Up the Fatty

Perhaps because she'd stayed at home for so long, Lin Nan's homebody personality had been diluted quite a bit.

"Wanna get some snacks to bring to the theater?" Lin Nan looked left and right at the food stalls in the mall. "How about takoyaki?"

"If you want to, just buy it." Chen Yao had a gloomy face, his mood obviously not good.

Tonight was clearly supposed to be a date between him and Lin Nan, a world for two. How did Tu Junhui and Xiong Da insist on joining in the fun, forcibly turning the date into a dorm gathering? Not a bit of awareness, just like Lin Nan's cousin.

"Where's it dark? With two such large light bulbs, how could it be dark?" Chen Yao hinted without moving his expression.

Tu Junhui had a completely clueless expression. Xiong Da crossed his legs and played on his phone. Lin Nan was amused and almost laughed out loud.

Chen Yao sighed deeply, not knowing why Lin Nan was so carefree.

Suddenly, on a whim, Lin Nan speared a takoyaki ball with a toothpick and held it up to Chen Yao's mouth. "Here, open up, ah~" She smiled as she fed the ball into Chen Yao's mouth.

"The balls Nan Nan feeds are the most delicious." Chen Yao immediately gave a thumbs-up.

"What about me? What about me?" Tu Junhui bent forward slightly, opening his mouth wide. "Ah~"

"..."

Lin Nan moved a seat closer to Chen Yao, trying to hide behind him, her face full of disgust.

"Damn, that hurts my feelings."

She ignored Tu Junhui's antics and reached out to take a portion of fried cold noodles from Chen Yao's hands. After eating two bites, she handed it back dissatisfied. "You eat this, I don't like it."

"Then milk tea?" He picked up his milk tea, inserted the straw, and held it to Lin Nan's mouth.

Lin Nan took a sip and shook her head. "I don't like pearl milk tea. You drink it."

"But you're the one who wanted to buy all this..." Chen Yao was bewildered. He held up the ten-yuan large chicken skewer. "This one?"

"Not good, I just ate it." Lin Nan shook her head rapidly.

"But the problem is... I can't finish all this either." Chen Yao asked with a bitter smile. "If it's not good, why did you buy it?"

"If I don't eat it, how would I know it's not good? Are you stupid?" Lin Nan looked at him like he was an idiot.

Fine, meaning I'm the garbage disposal.

Should have known not to eat dinner.

Chen Yao bit into the chicken skewer with a bitter face and looked at Tu Junhui with pleading eyes. But having fed Tu Junhui lemons overtly and covertly earlier, he now pretended not to see and read his novel.

"Xiong Da?" He tried to seek help from Xiong Da.

Although Xiong Da was playing games, he also knew what was happening and mercilessly shook his head. "I don't eat food others have eaten."

Actually, Chen Yao didn't either. In the past, he never touched porridge or cakes that family members had drunk or eaten. He always felt that things others had bitten into were kind of gross. But these were Lin Nan's leftovers. They seemed to carry a delicate fragrance still.

He lamented. He finally understood why many men's body types tend to gain weight at a noticeable rate after falling in love or getting married.

"Chen Yao, I want popcorn." Lin Nan threw the finished takoyaki container into the trash and became interested in the popcorn sold in the cinema.

"I'll go buy it."

Chen Yao got up without hesitation to go to the counter.

By the time he bought the popcorn, the movie had also conveniently started. He could only carry a large pile of snack packaging bags and popcorn, feeling a bit awkward as he went to have his tickets checked.

He didn't even know if this cinema would let people bring outside food in to eat.

Hurrying to finish the chicken skewer and throwing the cold noodles directly into the popcorn bucket with the packaging, Chen Yao managed to muddle through. After a round of hassle, he got his 3D glasses and found his seat.

Only at this point did Chen Yao discover that the cinema seats were actually spaced with empty seats in between.

He looked at Lin Nan sitting not far away in bewilderment, suddenly realizing this date seemed to have gone poorly from start to finish.

Not only had it turned into a dorm team-building gathering, he also couldn't even sit next to his own girlfriend.

"Chen Yao, this popcorn isn't good..."

"I'll eat it, I'll eat it."
