Chapter 302 : Going Public

Lin Nan was very curious about what inhumane treatment Lilith would suffer at the hands of that perverted lesbian.

But she also hoped Lina would go easy on her, otherwise Lilith might end up blaming this grudge on her.

Today was the third day of the semester.

Lin Nan put on women's clothing.

It was actually just a white hoodie with women's jeans. Lin Nan often wore this outfit, and it was probably one of the earliest women's outfits she could accept. Wearing women's clothing to class for the first time made Lin Nan somewhat afraid. She timidly hid behind Chen Yao like a shy girl-next-door who hadn't seen much of the world, tightly hugging Chen Yao's arm.

She wanted to continue staying in this class.

Going to another class, she would hardly know anyone and would need to make new friends and integrate into a new circle. This was already somewhat frightening for her. Plus, unless she transferred schools or completely changed her appearance, everyone would find out sooner or later that she had been male anyway.

So she might as well openly wear women's clothing and stay in the familiar class with her new gender.

Although she might have exchanged only a sentence or two with most classmates, they'd at least been in classes together for three semesters.

Originally, that's what she thought.

But when the moment came, she chickened out again.

Chen Yao suddenly felt Lin Nan tugging at the corner of his clothes. Looking down, he saw his girlfriend's eyes had already turned red.

"We're already at the teaching building." Chen Yao sighed lightly. "Wasn't this your own choice?"

"I'm scared..." Lin Nan said in a low voice. "Should I go back and change into men's clothes?"

Chen Yao shook his head. "Too late."

"Huh?" She looked up at Chen Yao in confusion, but suddenly heard Big Dog's voice from behind. "Chen Yao! Did you get a girlfriend?"

Lin Nan instinctively turned to look and found it was Big Dog, with Lin Yuan and his other two roommates beside him.

Her face instantly flushed red. She instinctively took a step back, shrinking behind Chen Yao's body, only cautiously poking out a pair of eyes to check the situation of Big Dog's whole dorm.

"Sister-in-law is quite pretty! Where did you hook up with such a pretty girl, Chen Yao?" Big Dog came over with a grinning face, about to put his arm around someone's shoulders like he usually did, but suddenly noticed Lin Nan's face.

He froze. Lin Yuan also froze at the same time, while the other two roommates just gave a simple greeting and nodded before heading straight for the classroom. But after walking a few steps, they suddenly sensed something was wrong and turned back in confusion.

Although the difference between women's and men's clothing was quite large, Lin Nan wasn't wearing makeup, and her usual appearance in men's clothing wasn't much different from women's clothing.

But in women's clothing, she was obviously more delicate and cute than usual. The long legs that had been hidden under loose casual pants were now outlined by the jeans in a slender arc. The curves of her chest were no longer concealed by a jacket, and though not large, they were enough to catch the eye.

Big Dog's voice trembled a bit. "Nan, Nan..."

"Sister Nan?"

The blush on Lin Nan's face deepened. She fiercely glared at Big Dog with her eyes.

Big Dog stood there not knowing what to say.

"You didn't lose a bet, did you?" Big Dog was the first to think of this possibility. "Truth or Dare?"

Chen Yao helplessly looked down at Lin Nan and, knowing this girl couldn't possibly say it herself, simply did it for her. "Lin Nan is female."

"Huh?"

"Not a pervert." Chen Yao said seriously.

Big Dog nodded in deep agreement. Crossdressing perverts referred to those who were eye-searing and made you want to vomit. This kind of crossdressing was reverse art, called sacrificing oneself for art.

But Lin Yuan caught the key point. His iceberg face finally cracked, revealing some surprise. "Female?"

"Yeah, always has been." Chen Yao nodded but didn't continue explaining, bringing Lin Nan toward the classroom.

Leaving several people looking at each other, not knowing what to say.

This was Lin Nan's idea.

If she were going to stay in the class, then she would inevitably have to make her gender public. But if it was publicly announced by Zheng Qian with great fanfare during a class meeting, just thinking about that scene made Lin Nan so embarrassed that she wanted to faint.

But if it was quietly made public... anyway, because of her feminine appearance, every time in class, Lin Nan could see several classmates pointing and gossiping, or mentioning her name in discussions. Rather than let them guess blindly, she might as well let word get out that she was female.

Most people were gossips anyway. Probably within two class periods, the whole class would know Lin Nan was a girl.

And Lin Nan wouldn't have to endure the shame of having her gender publicly announced. She just had to sit there obediently and attend class, enduring classmates' gazes and private discussions as usual.

That's what she thought... but when Lin Nan sat in the back row, she still couldn't raise her head under her classmates' stares.

"I told you Lin Nan looks pretty in women's clothing, right? You still didn't believe it."

"Did he get his head caught in a door today?"

"Big Dog said Lin Nan was originally female."

"You believe what comes out of Big Dog's mouth?"

"He didn't go to Thailand, did he... Well, he's been a classmate after all, don't say things like that." That person noticed Chen Yao's gaze and sheepishly lowered his head, also feeling this kind of talk was a bit too much.

Lin Nan lay on the desk, her ears trying to eavesdrop on the low discussions in the class, but could only catch the gist.

She somewhat regretted this decision. At least today she should have worn men's clothing to class.

Chen Yao and Tu Junhui sat like door gods on either side of the very nervous Lin Nan, sitting upright with completely justified expressions. If they heard any excessive remarks, they would glare over with the fiercest eyes, and if there were still no reaction, they would throw paper balls.

Chen Yao wasn't the most muscular in the class, but when his face turned fierce, he could be quite intimidating.

Tu Junhui was the tallest and fattest in the class. Normal people wouldn't provoke him.

Finally, when the teacher arrived, the class's discussion died down. The teacher glanced at the class and picked up the brand-new roll call sheet to begin taking attendance. This roll call sheet didn't seem to have changed, so why did Zheng Qian suddenly say the old one couldn't be used?

"Lin Nan."

"Here."

"Lin Kexin."

"Here."

This teacher suddenly noticed the noise in the class getting louder and louder. Helplessly putting down the roll call sheet, he picked up the blackboard eraser and forcefully slapped the podium several times, flying into a rage. "What's all this noise! Are we taking attendance or not!"

However, his anger had no effect at all. The students only quieted for a moment before becoming even more rowdy.

"Lin Nan's seat number changed."

"Moved to the girls' section."

"So she's really female?"

"I heard it was some kind of deformity that made Lin Nan think she was male all along, and only changed her gender back this winter break."

"That's so tragic."

"I want to be female too."

Because the roll call sheet was arranged with females first by alphabetical order of gender, then males, this confirmed Lin Nan's gender.

Lin Nan kept her head down the whole time, lying on the desk, her right hand under the desk, held firmly by Chen Yao.

"I don't know if handling it this way is any better..."

She muttered helplessly to herself.

"It's better than announcing it at a class meeting or being pointed at by a bunch of people you don't know, right?" Chen Yao said with a smile. "They all know you and won't say anything too excessive. If you went to another class, who knows what they'd say."

"I guess that's true..."
