Chapter 233 176: Demon Sect Stronghold (Part 2)
"You arrived quite early, Master Lian," Young Master Qin whispered.
"I'm used to it. Let's go." Lian Baishan pulled the cloth to cover his face up to his nose, immediately concealing half of his face. Young Master Qin nodded, and the two of them quickly dashed towards the north.
Young Master Qin didn't know the way, so he relied on Lian Baishan to lead the way. Soon, they arrived outside a sizable mansion.
The mansion looked extremely grand from the outside, clearly belonging to a wealthy family.
Lian Baishan didn't hesitate and leaped over the wall directly.
As a master of Inner Strength, sometimes there is an inexplicable confidence. Young Master Qin took out the Spirit Fox's Eye to observe and saw a faint black aura wafting over the Yang Mansion. Though faint, Young Master Qin, with his extraordinary eyesight, noticed it.
Only then did he believe what Lian Baishan had said, that this place was indeed likely connected to the Demon Sect.
Donning a gold mask, Young Master Qin then lightly leaped and stealthily entered the courtyard.
"Young Master Qin, this Yang Mansion is quite large. To save time, I suggest we split up to investigate." Lian Baishan took out a stiff butterfly from his bosom and handed it to Young Master Qin, "Take it."
"What is this?"
"Twin Butterflies. If one dies, the other will sense it and commit suicide. If either of us encounters a problem, we can crush the butterfly in our hand to send a message, and the other will know."
"Such a thing exists." Young Master Qin curiously accepted the butterfly. It was the first time he'd heard of such a thing.
"Time is of the essence. I'll investigate in this direction." Lian Baishan pointed to the left, then immediately rushed out, soon blending into the night.
"In such a hurry?" Young Master Qin stuffed the butterfly into his bosom and ran toward the right, moving in the opposite direction of Lian Baishan.
The Yang Mansion was eerily quiet. As Young Master Qin walked through it, he didn't encounter a single maid or guard, which struck him as very odd.
Logically, a mansion as large as the Yang Mansion should have night watchers.
Buzz!
The Exorcism Toad inside the Celestial Demon Pouch suddenly emitted a vibration, prompting Young Master Qin to take a look. The glass disc on the back of the Exorcism Toad showed that the Malice Level had quietly reached two hundred.
"This is serious." Young Master Qin put away the Exorcism Toad, realizing that he had indeed come to the right place; there were major issues here at the Yang Mansion.
Taking out the Spirit Fox's Eye, Young Master Qin headed directly toward the area with the densest black aura.
...
The courtyard was very clean, yet it exuded a mystifyingly eerie aura.
White ground, white courtyard walls, white house walls—everything was white as far as the eye could see.
A jet-black coffin was placed squarely in the center of the courtyard, with four red candles at its corners providing the only source of light.
Young Master Qin stood on the courtyard wall, refraining from jumping down. From his observation using the Spirit Fox's Eye, the black aura emanating from this courtyard was the most concentrated, comparable to the Cold Mountain Temple he had visited before.
A large amount of black aura was seeping from the coffin, hinting that something very dangerous was concealed within.
"There's nothing else here; the problem lies within the coffin," Young Master Qin thought to himself. He then used the Star-Picking Hand to grab onto the coffin lid, intending to pull it off in one piece.
At the Inner Power Realm level Young Master Qin had reached, the Star-Picking Hand could easily handle objects weighing hundreds of pounds. Normally, he could pull an entire coffin toward him, let alone just the lid.
But this time, an unexpected obstacle occurred; the coffin lid remained unmoved, completely unaffected by Young Master Qin's Star-Picking Hand.
"Oh?!" Young Master Qin frowned, realizing the situation was far beyond his expectations.
Without further hesitating, he jumped off the courtyard wall, retrieved the Celestial Demon's Evil Blade from his back, and approached the coffin.
As he neared the coffin, Young Master Qin felt an overwhelming pressure. Initially, he was able to ignore it, but within five steps, the pressure intensified, weighing on his shoulders like a mountain, causing his knees to weaken involuntarily and bend toward the ground.
It should be noted that Young Master Qin's strength was equivalent to that of nearly ten horses, yet this dreadful pressure nearly suffocated him, demonstrating its immense weight.
Bang!
Young Master Qin immediately mobilized the Profound Celestial Internal Power and Primordial Qi within him, unleashing forces that had a strong restraining effect on malevolent entities, nullifying the pressure around him instantly.
"Let's see what you are!" Young Master Qin said as he thrust a knife into the seam of the coffin lid and pried it open with force.
In an instant, the entire coffin lid was lifted by Young Master Qin using the Celestial Demon's Evil Blade, creating a gap.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
All of a sudden, a large amount of black aura gushed out of the coffin, swirling madly across the courtyard. The flames of the four red candles flickered violently in the black wind, on the verge of extinguishing.
This black aura was no ordinary presence; it possessed a chilling cold. Merely by contacting it for a few seconds, black ice had formed on the blade of the Celestial Demon's Evil Blade.
With a burst of Inner Strength, Young Master Qin shattered the black ice off, scattering it onto the ground.
"Rise!" With a low shout, Young Master Qin tilted the Celestial Demon's Evil Blade at an angle greater than one hundred degrees, prying the entire coffin lid off, which then slid uncontrollably to the ground.
Without the lid's restraint, the black aura within the coffin could no longer be contained, surging out wildly. Young Master Qin was determined not to let that happen, and he unleashed his Primordial Qi with all his might, radiating heat like a blazing sun, against which the black aura melted like snow under intense sunlight.
In just a few blinks, the black aura dissipated completely, leaving no trace behind.
With a moment to spare, Young Master Qin gazed inside the coffin, revealing a snow-white female corpse.
She seemed not to have been deceased for long; her skin was still normal, lacking the horrifying mottling that corpse spots would create.
With white hair, white clothes, and even white shoes, she wore a white crown on her head. Combined with her pale skin, through which veins could be seen, she presented a somewhat eerie sight.
"What kind of mischief is the Demon Sect up to, placing such a female corpse in this courtyard?" wondered Young Master Qin.
While maintaining his gaze on the coffin's interior, Young Master Qin failed to notice that suddenly, all four red candles beside the coffin had extinguished.
Four wisps of white smoke lazily rose, signaling the end of the last source of light.
Suddenly, Young Master Qin felt a chill on his forehead, as if a sharp object was pressing against it, and a strong sense of danger filled his mind.
Without hesitation, Young Master Qin retreated swiftly, intending to move away from the coffin.
But at that moment, the corpse, which had been stationary, suddenly opened her eyes wide.
Her eyes, deep and black, showed no sign of life. As Young Master Qin observed her, she rose straight up from the coffin, her icy eyes fixing on Young Master Qin.
Intent to kill!
A chill ran down from the back of Young Master Qin's head to his spine, encasing him in cold. It seemed as if something cold was emanating outward from within him.
"Hehehe, hehehe, hehehe..."
The female corpse was expressionless, yet an utterly creepy giggle emerged from her mouth.
"Hehehe, hehehe, hehehe..."
She jumped out of the coffin, raising her stiff arms. Suddenly, her entire body emitted loud, crisp sounds as if bones were breaking.
"Are you my husband?"
